It makes me sick to my stomach seeing the footage of greystone being torn down. When I was younger I explored the old Curry building and became fascinated with Greystone. RIP old friend.

I documented this demolition. I was there taking pictures, videos, and advocating saving this Kirkbride. The one thing that has always bothered me was the girl there with the drone. I believe she won an award for her footage. I saw her canoodaling with the demolition crew, Northstar. She didn't deserve that award. She duped people who actually had this building near to their hearts.

This is beyond sad 😢, why does everything dear and beautiful have to be desecrated! My Grandmother worked there for 30 years , and I as a child remember going and visiting her patients! I cherish those memories and it’s hard to believe it wasn’t a historical landmark! It was on the level of Princeton University for the Mentally Ill , why do we not cherish the beautiful landmark that it was ! No Appreciation for the love that when’s into this monument for people that needed help ! I will never have any respect for Chis Christy Again , the government is soulless ! Sad 😢

What would've been the point NOT to tear it down? The place would just be left there to rot and decay away. There were no plans for further use so why allow it to be an eyesore? However, since this group was willing to take on what remained, renovate it and give the buildings an new life and a new purpose, then I acquiesce.

Very Sad. They have torn down the ITT tower and building and property that is here in Nutley, and just like that property, Overbrook and Grey Stone, they do nothing but tear down beautiful buildings and history in which so much can be done with, and they just up some piece of shit town house. Just look behind the old Great Notch Biker bar also. I am friends with the owner, and he is a cool dude, and glad he did not sell the property, but they are putting up more garbage condos behind the bar. This state, the politicians, and the builders that make these places really are nothing but a bunch of morons that don't know how to do anything beside put up a piece of sheet rock in place of true construction or nature.

Gennaro Lombardi, Richard from the Great Notch? I'm related to him. My great grandfather, Gregory owned that place.
