She's very shy and awkward on stage too, until she starts singing. It's quite sweet watching her get all flustered between songs because she doesn't know what to say the the audience.
There's just something endearingly awkward about those two together. :) They did another interview maybe a year later. I didn't get the impression they hate each other during it, it's more like they don't know quite what to make of each other.

I would guess that she hates doing the whole 'pop promotion' stuff, she was on Buzzcocks once and she looked incredibly bored and uncomfortable on that too... I don't need to see her being 'wacky', just more music thanks.
