    I LIKE how they reproduce the CAMBRIDGE bibles. TURQUOISE. And the LARGE PRINT text bible is beautiful reduced into hand size.

    I think the stitching around the pentameter is an aesthetic look, kind of like a gilded line.

    Just got mine and I did not expect this one or the lambskin wide margin to be so beautiful!

  • @ymshao

    In terms of durability, is there a difference between having perimeter stitching and having no perimeter stitching?

    • @BibleBuyingGuide
      @BibleBuyingGuide  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It partially depends on the design. Some, like those from RL Allan, can come unglued. Fortunately, it's easy to fix with glue. The design on this CBP is more complex because of how much it overlaps. I think it would only keep it from unfolding around the edges, but I'm not sure it could come unglued that far.

      @@BibleBuyingGuide I see. I noticed CBP Water Buffalo does not have perimeter stitching, whereas CBP Water Buffalo Full Yapp has perimeter stitching. That made me wonder whether the latter is more durable than the former.

    I was wondering when we’d see your review. It looks like it took USPS a while to deliver it. I enjoyed reviewing this one.

    • @BibleBuyingGuide

      It got lost in the mail for a few days, and then I had to wait a day to get the Bibles to compare it with (I left them at Church).

    • @BibleBelievingChristian
      @BibleBelievingChristian 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bible Buying Guide I am just glad they didn’t lose it completely. That wouldn’t have been good. I splurged and save up for a Cambridge wide margin goatskin and then USPS lost it and I was out the money cause the shipper didn’t insure it. I am still bummed over that one.

      @@BibleBelievingChristian ouch! That makes me sad too!

      Bible Buying Guide yeah it was Christmas and Birthday money saved up and so it was a bummer. I just hope that it somehow ends up in the hands of someone who will use it and appreciate it and not get sold from the USPS lost and found sale. They make a small fortune on selling lost packages which makes me wonder how they’re lost if they have them. Crazy stuff but it is what it is. Someday maybe I’ll be able to buy another one.

    In the full yapp, does the perimeter stitching really stitch the water buffalo cover and the cowhide together? Or does the stitching simply stitch the water buffalo cover alone and actually not attach to the cowhide?
    I ask this because I want to know to what extent the perimeter stitching helps glue the cover and cowhide together. Could you clarify that, please?

      Excellent question. I don't really know the answer. It looks to me like the liner doesn't fold under the outer shell, but that's just a guess. Unfortunately, I had to send this to the next reviewer, so I can't go back and look at it.

    Just bought the Turquoise and some Buttercup yellow ink for the art guilt, by Archival Ink. In addition, I'm considering the wide margin; but I want to see how this one looks as it will be my first from CBP.

    What's the difference between the Turquoise reference and Thompson chain reference?

    • @BibleBuyingGuide
      @BibleBuyingGuide  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Turquoise is a large print (around 11 point font) center column reference edition. Here's one of my reviews: biblebuyingguide.com/cbp-center-column-reference-bible-red-letter-edition-review/
      The Thompson has a much smaller print but has a lot more study material that's based on topical lists. Here's one of my reviews of a larger print edition (9 point font) biblebuyingguide.com/large-print-thompson-chain-reference-the-kjv-store/

      @@BibleBuyingGuide Thanks for the information.
      Is the Red darker in the turquoise reference or is it the same colour as TCR version?
      The pink is off putting to me, but I'm trying to get a KJV study Bible and I hear Thompson chain is the best one to study with..

    That is one magnificent looking Bible! I’ve seen them on their website but their pictures don’t do them justice! They are $150 on their site and the only question now is which color do I want?! Oh and which text? 🤔 I absolutely love, love the stitching, adds a look of refinement to it that is missing on the regular water buffalo bibles, IMO. For an additional $25 over the standard water buffalo why wouldn’t you?

      If you want the Thompson in larger print, they have it in calfskin www.churchbiblepublishers.com/product/large-print-thompson-chain-reference-bible-2/

      Plenty of word changes in the KJV - many, many. The KJV is just a translation. Like any other. The only words that aren’t “changed” would be Greek. Thanks for looking out for me though!
