    Awesome review! I was just about to purchase the mid-size but now I'm considering the hand-size thanks to this review.

    What I really like about their church Bible publishers is that theirs is made for heavy use the other ones are pages are so thin that any time you go to turn the pages fast they wrinkle.

  • @MCGaar
    @MCGaar 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    It’s amazing how Cambridge, the oldest Bible printer in the world, still has a crinkle page. Church Bible publishers has been doing this the last few years and builds them like tanks to last …in turquoise or cameo etc. for half the price! And it’s a Baptist church that does it for the Lord instead of a lot of profit driven companies today. I have Allans but there’s something great about these from the gilding and layout to the binding.

    Great video! Thank you for showing all the comparisons. I have a CBP turquoise on the way so hopefully I’ll be able to upload a review over the weekend.

    Thank you for the review. I picked this one up from church Bible Publishers. I did get it in the mail. Beautiful Bible so far very happy with it. thank you again for your review. I have been looking for a King James reference Bible look into handy size but I wasn't sure what I wanted to buy so I went on the internet look at a lot of videos but it was your video that finally pushed me over the edge to make the decision and make this purchase.

    Randy, FYI, the newest release of this bible now includes the dictionary - or at least mine does.

  • @coryclark8577

    Randy, I noticed that (like many others) comes in either a 1-piece or 3-piece cover. Is there a benefit to one or the other or does it come down to personal preference? Also, do you know what the difference is between their ironed calfskin and more basic leather?

    THE CAMBRIDGE LARGE PRINT ..REDUCED TO HANDSIZE ..IS EVEN MORE READABLE... WITH NO CENTER COLUMN REFERENCES. VERY NICE, CBP HAS NEVER DISAPPOINTED...

    Thank you for posting this video. Of all of my bibles, this BCP Hand size Turquoise is my favorite reading bible. Your comparisons are helpful for me because I've considered purchasing the Midsize CBP Turquoise.

      Philip Voerding Are the words in the reference column readable? thanx

    • @AmericanShia786
      @AmericanShia786 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@javierdelgado1554 I'm nearsighted, so I have no trouble reading the reference column. It might be between 6 and 7 pt. font. The scripture itself is 9.5 font.

    • @javierdelgado1554
      @javierdelgado1554 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Philip Voerding Thank you. I just bought a cbp handsize text only in red letter but the red letter is a little bit annoying to me. Its not a consistent red and some places the red is very light. I was looking at the turquoise because its a black letter text and its a nicer read. I just love the cbp handsize because they are not too small or too big.

    • @AmericanShia786
      @AmericanShia786 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@javierdelgado1554 I have the black letter CBP Turqoise. I've never been a red letter fan, though I can live with it. I like the Handsize for the same reason, and have the CBP handsize Thompson Chain which is my personal favorite reference bible, though it may not be the best one. I plan to but the Westminster Reference Bible, though probably as a hardcover. I had my children later in life, so I'm not able to buy real expense bibles, but I do want to own one goatskin bible eventually.
      CBP makes nice affordable bibles for people like me. Nit top of the line, but very nice nonetheless.

    • @javierdelgado1554
      @javierdelgado1554 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Philip Voerding I hear you. I wpuld love to have a Cambridge turquoise but the price is too high. I just got my cbp bible like a week ago in thd top grain cowhide and its really nice. Its a little stiffer and more sturdy than the calfskin but once its worked in it loosens up a bit. I regret not getting the turquoise handsize because the red letter does bug me a little. I also thought the font in the turquoise handsize was going to be too small but it looks very readable after watching some reviews.

    QUESTION:
    Is the text on the blue Cambridge the same layout as the Cambridge Pitt minion? (KJV)... I know the Pitt minion is the same layout as the Cambridge wide margin, just curious if it applied for the turquoise as well. If so I'm sold!

    • @BibleBuyingGuide
      @BibleBuyingGuide  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not the same. The Turquoise doesn't match anything else. The Pitt Minions match the wide margins in all translations except for the KJV. The KJV wide margin is the same as the regular and personal size Concord.

    Thanks for disclosing up front it was a review copy up front, but for some reason that took the pleasure of the video for me. Not bashing your model because you have good channel but I prefer reviews where the person has paid for and used the item.

    • @BibleBuyingGuide
      @BibleBuyingGuide  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. Just to clarify, I do use them before reviewing, and the fact that it's a review copy has no bearing on my opinions. I always provide honest reviews regardless of how I got the Bible. I do buy Bibles to review, but I almost never get around to reviewing them. Getting a review copy obligates me to create the review, so this is the best model for me.

    Why is this video sideways, or is it just me?? Also would you get this Bible or a Concord in Calf Split if you could only get one?

    • @BibleBuyingGuide
      @BibleBuyingGuide  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is sideways. I'm not sure what happened there. I'll see if I can fix that. I'd get the Concord. It has better materials and I prefer the thinner size, better maps, glossary, and dictionary. Also, I'm not sure this one is still available.

      @BibleBuyingGuide  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dylan. Many publishers have blogging programs that you can sign up for. Also, you can contact publishers through their websites. Most that I've dealt with want you to have a blog with a large following on both the blog and social media. It's best to start by reviewing Bibles you already own so you'll have example reviews.

    Hello Randy: you should look at the large print version of this, it is a fantastic bible. I have both the large and the giant, but I was very surprised by the large which has an incredibly soft cover and slightly different formatting. I find it is kind of like a goldilocks bible, it seems just right and has become my favourite bible.

    • @BibleBuyingGuide

      It's completely different. The Concord doesn't have reference or footnote keys in the text and it uses a different font and character count per line.

      Update: I have not used this Bible as much as I should have liked, mostly because I have an ESV Pitt Minion that I take to church and use during the week. But it's a fine Bible in every respect and well worth every penny. I used it for a season while teaching Sunday School using the Westminster Confession of Faith, since the confession often relies on the wording of the KJV.
