I lived 1 block from the ocean near the Landmark in the early 80's. That was the only hotel over 3 stories on the south end, the rest were all mom and pop's. On the north end Howard Johnson was the only high rise. That's how much MB has changed and grown. Amazing to me, all the high rises and no Pavilion. Ocean Blvd looks beautiful. Good video, thanks.i
We’ll be there for the first week of July! I’m so super excited! We are staying at the Holiday Inn at the Pavilion. I know it’s an older hotel, but everyone has nice things to say about it. My husband is disabled and wanted a hotel near a lot of things to do so we wouldn’t have to drive too much and he could get around in his scooter. It was still expensive but I didn’t mind because it’s been a few years since we’ve been to MB (well, anywhere really!). I love your videos! Keep ‘em coming!

Love to see Oceanaire at the end there, still standing. My grandparents used to be the care takers there, so we'd always stay there for free during March break. Haven't been to Myrtle Beach since 2011 as they have since passed away and traveling got expensive. 😢 BUT, we're hopefully heading down in September this year. 😀
I am going to be there in August for a week. I have stayed at the Windsurfer twice and loved it! This will be my 3rd time there and will be in North Myrtle Beach so excited!!!

The Seaside Hotel was where the skywheel is now. My family stayed there in the 60’s. They served breakfast and supper right there in the hotel and it was included with your room. As a kid, it was paradise. A lot has changed since then.

Glad you enjoy the video! I’m not familiar with that resort, but looking on Google maps it appears to be centrally located in the main boardwalk area. So that would be called more downtown.
Just stayed at sandy beach resort June 5th - 10th this was my family's 2nd time staying there and we love staying there I would highly recommend staying there, the price is hard too bet. Just disappointed the water park beside the hotel was closed like you mentioned in the video.
Just got back two days ago from my honeymoon, stayed at the Anderson Ocean Club and Spa, LOVED IT, $$$ as expected. Stay out of the hotel bar, 20% gratuity on just the 2 of us, 4 drinks $51. 3 pools, 2 hot tubs, lazy river. Chairs and umbrellas on the beach $45 a day rental.😳

@@michaelmonroe3019 To be fair it's been a while since we've eaten there (as you said it's pricey) but we both agree Captain George's is about as good as it gets for a seafood buffet. According to their website they still offer discounts on certain days & times, "First Catch special and is available every Sunday from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m., with the exception of Easter, Mother's Day, and Father's Day. The cost is $44.99 for adults. Only at our Myrtle Beach location, we also offer our First Catch special Monday through Saturday for the first hour we are open. During this time, our adult buffet is $46.99." I'd still call to verify the times and prices.
Great video. I am an owner at the Landmark resort and you were correct that the water park is $3 million dollars. Supposed to open later in the summer.
4:07 Sea Mist, stayed in rm 51508 at the Driftwood building. It's super affordable and was right on the beach. They are doing big updates so that was nice. Parking is super tight though, but is included.

I really miss the days when we could get a really nice hotel for $50/night by just being a walk in. Now really nice hotels are $300+. I think we’re spending around $400/night for Ocean Reef which is on the northern end
Did the Landmark tear down a bunch of pool stuff in preparation for the new water park? I'm staying their in a week and that would have been nice to know when we booked...
One time I was on the road and I had too poop really bad, but I didn't want to use a public restroom, so I stopped and rented a cheap hotel room just so I could use the bathroom. So that also might be an option.

Hello new subscriber as I came across your channel doing research for an upcoming trip last week of March. Driving down from Ohio. Great content by the way. So I booked a private condo through airbnb at Carvelle resort. Owner got stellar reviews and is a superhost on the platform. But I have been reading reviews on the resort and keep reading that it's unsafe over there and resort is roach infested and very dirty. I have time to get a refund before my trip and book at a different place. Any helpful input on Carvelle? Thanks.
We haven't stayed at the Carvelle. Maybe another viewer can help you if they see your comment. As far as the area, anywhere on the main strip (Ocean Boulevard) you need to be mindful - it's a tourist area so sadly there will be some who target tourists. That said, the north end where I see the Carvelle is located, is not a particularly worrisome area.
There’s some street parking on 9th ave north, as well as a large parking deck on that same street that has public parking. If you don’t mind walking a little further if you cross Kings Highway/business 17 on 9th there’s some parking that’s free.

We don't eat a lot in North Myrtle but I have heard good things about Flying Fish at Barefoot Landing. If you're willing to drive to Myrtle Beach we like Mr. Fish.

Staffing shortages is due to rich people who own houses and businesses there love living that lifestyle but don't pay anything but want top dollar on there rents and no housing there In cost nearby and gas cost and the rich go on vacation in off season and shut down months they call it and they shut down there bussiness and take a write off on taxes and stuff like that and it leave you job less in them months and stuff so rent is very expensive in peak time and cheap in winter so watch out for them scams so peak time coming you will be told to leave by courts fast

The only casino boat I know of in the area sails out of Little River, just north of Myrtle Beach.

The pool area does look under construction. I would call them to verify what will be available during your stay.

It could be 80 out or it could be 60 depends. Last year on thanksgiving it was cold. Then it got hot in December.

We plan on using the entertainment shuttle and not renting a car, is that feasible to get around?
It depends on where you want to go. As long as what you want to get to and your hotel is on that route it should work.

We don't eat a lot in North Myrtle but I have heard good things about Flying Fish at Barefoot Landing. If you're willing to drive to Myrtle Beach we like Mr. Fish.

Staffing shortages is due to rich people who own houses and businesses there love living that lifestyle but don't pay anything but want top dollar on there rents and no housing there In cost nearby and gas cost and the rich go on vacation in off season and shut down months they call it and they shut down there bussiness and take a write off on taxes and stuff like that and it leave you job less in them months and stuff so rent is very expensive in peak time and cheap in winter so watch out for them scams so peak time coming you will be told to leave by courts fast
