the wind that night was terrible and it made it really hard to get a good recording.

2git2quit, glad they're still having fun playing the oldies.

Austin Wells I find it hard to call three deliverance album an oldie, but maybe that's cause I'm in denial

I was pretty disappointed with the sound quality. Even in this video you can hear it going from loud to quiet and the sound was swirling from left to right. Sounded like crap in my opinion. They are an incredibly talented band and I think whoever did sound for them should get slapped. Anyone else feel that way? Gojira sounded great, nice full sound with balls to back it up. Then Opeth gets up and they sound quiet and muffled. I love Opeth and it wasn't their fault at all, just really poor sound. I thought that was impossible at Red Rocks, but I was wrong.

David Livingston I kinda felt the same way, I wad partially deaf by the time they came on, so I thought it was me, but I recorded this in 4k just to see if I was crazy or not, their sound guy defiantly didn't did this location justice, and this is the first time I've seen this from opeth, being that this was my 6th time seeing them live

I think it was the mic really. The wind was crazy during their show. sounded awesome lower down.

I was there (row 48) and agree with everything you said (glad to read that I am not going deaf or crazy). DTP and Gojira sounded great. Opeth...not so much. I have seen them multiple times and they have always had great sound, so I was surprised (especially in this setting) to be disappointed. The guitars were coming in and out all night like they had phasers on them. Also the clean vocals sounded fine, but the death metal vocals sounded completely buried in the mix. The band posted a sound check on their website and it sounded totally fine. I know that it got really windy during their set...not sure if that was the issue. joemeggs posted that it sounded great lower down.

No, False Light, it wasn't your video. The sound quality live seriously sucked. So disappointed after waiting 10+ years to see them. I was so let down Opeth's sound quality, but Gojira & DTP both sounded great.

It was too windy out, blaming the sound guy is ignorant.
