I actually had a south African Boerboel. Great dog. They are scary if you don't know them but will lick your face and love your kids and be the gentle giant that a family dog should be. Good choice.
Best dogs ever, also very big in size. But they have very good guard instincts. If that's the type of dog you are getting, good choice Kenan.
They're perfect dogs but are they a good choice for someone who never had a dog?.. they require early training.. socializing.. daily exercises like going with you while you're doing your tasks.. they prefer being dominated by their masters.. They're good family dogs but very jealous and territorial so Kenan needs to introduce his new dog to the animals from an early age..
Long story short they need lots of care if they see walking around without being able to reach it frustrates them and gives them anxiety.. my recommendation would be a caucasian shepherd as i have one.. good guarding and family dogs.. very easy when you train them since an early age.. they treat you as a daddy and they're independent.. they bark only when necessary.. and you can hear them from a mile away.. but they need grooming..

@@chiyo9014 there's two separate lines of most breeds of dogs: working and guard dog lines,vs show lines: I'm sure big brother Kenan had down alot of homework getting this breed. They are loving,but very wary of strangers,I'm sure he'll only have this dog around his family,and close friends. If you want a good old guard dog(not pet dog causes a Huge difference) you don't want too many people handling it. Like my pit english bulldog mix,he's great and loving with kids(in fact very protective of them "Ideally" which is what I want" and he has a low tolerance to anyone being too aggressive (being dominant in human stance,isn't the same he will not mind you) but if you tell at him and he do anything wrong lol he will check you 😂. He's chased a few police officers off the property too lol but never bit anyone cause I can easily call him out. As a puppy,I always placed my hand in food dish as he eats and he eats around my hand,he also will drop food if I say so..

Yeah, a stranger grabbing a crocodile monitor - that's going to end well.. I'd be more scared of a CM than a Komodo. You'd not need to bother with an alarm - just listen for the screaming.

@@WickedWildlife I've never seen those animals in person - but I know how much damage a tegu can do, if it gets scared or angry. Scared (smelled foxes) mine went through a pair of jeans like a 15mph kitchen knife.. And a bite then would have broken bones. Angry, because of a sore tooth, she crippled me for 2 days. A 4.4ft, 6kg animal...
If someone goes after those animals they deserve what they'll get. I'd be lary of them if I'd known them for years and they knew me and were totally calm and relaxed.
If someone is prepared to try and drag out a full adult Croc monitor by force as a total stranger and without harming it, they have bigger problems to worry about than even a high speed highly flexible bullwhip x chainsaw. That's padded room grade behaviour.
And to be fair, any animal of a reasonable size to do so should be chipped if they're outside.
I love that the only thing that separates kenan from a crazy person is the fact that he has a camera when he talks to himself! I love these kind of videos!

Hey Kenan, just for future reference it might be a good idea to not show the bottom of the pad locks on camera. I’m guessing that when you have them unlocked the combination is already on, so when you go to lock them and change one of the numbers it might be easy to see what the combination is.
Some people even 3-D print keys by just a picture of one so I can imagine someone making a key by seeing the brand/type of the lock
It's depressing that he even has to lock it. Honestly, what kind of scum steals and/or kills pets
My guess for what breed of dog would be a Rhodesian Ridgeback maybe? I've heard they're a good breed for a guard dog. They were bred to guard and hunt lions if I recall correctly.
Indonesian ridgebacks are most guard instinct. They are amazing but unless trained well are just a one person/family dog but are amazing for protecting animals/people and or property. With that being said they will go after friends and unknown family members. Rhodesian ridgebacks are more of a hunter type of dog with a great prey drive

So good to see you so pumped and happy pottering around the Kamp hanging out with your babies 🐢🦎🐢🦎 Great news, I really hope that Bobby can be found. My Hermann’s (Pebble 🐢) always comes running when he can hearing the water trickling or even when he can hear the rain, he just loves a soak. Love how Pinky has got her own bridge :). I just rescued a Golden Lab/Bernese Mountain dog puppy, he is just over 9 months old and he is a monster, his paws right now are as big as my hands and weighs in about 100 lbs. He is currently learning to be a Livestock Guardian to my 2 Bucks. Hope you have a fantastic day.

That thing looks like a cross between a weimeramer and a shire horse, after a couple of gallons of steroids.
I do wonder however how the lizards will react to large dogs. I know tegu aren't fans (the Jack Russell Hellcat video comes to mind). Or how the dog might react to the reptiles.

@@vicaroo001 yeah on chandlerswildlife videos he has a year old or 9 month old Casuian Shepard hat guy though very intimidating he's still got 3 years to fully get around 120 pounds. And he's filmed swimming with Pico's and giant Oscar's lol. So I know this African giant guard will be just as intimidating 😉🔪

Rhodesian Ridgeback are beautiful dogs 🐕, and I wouldn't wanna mess with one. I grew up with a German Shepherd though. Nicky came with me everywhere and back in the 60's where I lived I never had to use a leash. Didn't even know what one was until I was older. The good old days!

I love your videos and I am always sad when it's over... a walk around, a project everything I love. But in the end I live the most when you do a tour of the camp like now. Just hanging out with you and the animals... what more can we ask from you. You are a great guy and I understand what the sun is doing to you. We know winters to. Can't imagine people are living in Canada.... brrrrr.

Be careful with your padlock combos, you can see on footage, I would suggest bluring or not showing at all, expecially when you only changed two of the dials, would be very easy for someone to see what it is.

Just a thought but instead of filling in that small section of pond for the gators you could rock it off and make it a juvenile turtle pond?? Maybe install a DIY bio falls kit. It’s be cool to demonstrate that regular guys like us can make it happen not just the pond guys
I know what you mean about how you feel when the sun is shining. It's great to see you so bright and optimistic after what you've been through lately. 🤗 I live in Homer, Alaska, so in the summer we get sun up to 11:30 pm! Those are MY favorite days.

Hi Kenan just watched your update on how things are going at the kamp and it's so good to hear how things are going beside that Bobby hasn't been returned to you. I too hope that the the sheriff's, detectives gets the criminal soon. That criminal will be found and regret for messing with you and your animals. And I too enjoyed seeing you trying to continue to enjoy your animals no matter what. Keep up the best life, you know how much we appreciate what you do, I literally started to giggle when Pinky, Inky were kissing the camera I felt like a little girl😂, even though I really never got a close up to any lizard. But I will send you and your family lots of good thoughts that Bobby is back home to his family.

OMG If this pup is a Boerboel, I will be GLUED to the constant (please!) updates on what's happening with training etc. I love all animals -- especially yours -- and dogs super especially. Only a fool would try to get by a Boerboel in your yard. (Or a Doberman, Rottweiler, Cane Corso, Italian Mastiff, German Shepard --- so many great protection dogs out there!)
Boerboel? I had an English Mastiff and never had to worry about security or family safety... she was just under 200 lbs and very intimidating, yet gentle and extremely protective of my wife and kids. WhenI was younger I spent alot of time traveling for work, and never had a worry; while I was gone.
I think any breed within the Mastiff family has those important traits. 😊
