A guard dog is a really good idea. I’d look into a livestock guardian dog breed; they are big, adapted to outdoor living, instinctually patrol their property, wary of strangers and unfamiliar animals, bark loudly whenever there is suspicious activity or unfamiliar creatures on their land, and have strong instincts to protect their animal charges. They work even better in pairs or more. They have an intimidating bark and size. They would also protect your animals from predators like the raccoons that killed some of the turtles months back. But you’d have to make sure you have a tall, strong fence around your whole property as they tend to expand their “territory” off of your property and wander around and patrol off your land in suburban environments.
And you know whoever is watching this too!!!! Judging if they will get caught! So sad, things like this can be spirit crushers! Uggggh. Kev

@@hoah what else is he going to do, let them run loose to add to the invasive species list? Is he going to return them to their habitat - meaning they will have a high chance of dying from predators or competition
If you go the guard dog route, I highly recommend connecting with sheep ranchers either in Florida or other southern states who have trained multiple generations of flock guardians. Explain what you want to do and get some ideas and input from them. I strongly believe that will be the best route for your setup. You need something that will be rock solid around your reptiles, from fierce little Laggie to a helpless little cherry head hatchling, and will always put up a fight with intruders, no matter how fierce or friendly they might be. It needs to be constantly vigilant and willing to patrol a large area day and night. Such a job sounds very similar to a working sheepdog's daily routine.
I said the same thing. He should get a few Kangal shepherds to keep on his property. They are naturally protective of other animals and won't hesitate to take out intruders.
@@joshuahull9982 yeah, part of that would be breed recommendations. I know each breed has been developed for very specific roles in protection and the type of situation will determine which one is best for the kamp. I read an article years ago written by sheep ranchers in an area with a protected wolf population and their setup was pretty amazing. It was like Joseph Carter's rat assault team, but instead a wolf defense team, and it was extremely effective.

@@leahpowell2472 that's what Kangal shepherds are but they were bred to stop people from stealing livestock just as much as they were bred to keep non human predators away. They are bred to take down any intruder whether it's a human or animal.
Why does this sound like stealing to order... to bypass all the other animals, that were more accessible with fewer doors ... its mental. I am so heart broken for you Kenan.
Right, only thing I can think is they were the smallest most expensive animals so easy to just pick up and take. Would be pretty hard to steal a large lizard like slinky or guapo
I thought something similar. Monitors are popular right now because of how big they grow and how 'badass' the bigger ones are but it's easier to steal the baby monitors than the bigger ones that are more likely to injure the thief. It's also easier to transport and sell them on when they're smaller too. Like no one would blink about a small black water monitor for sale, but if it was Slinky, with how big he is it would raise alarm bells.

I've seen a few owners end up being nice and letting people go, we have to stop this. Press charges to the fullest extent!
Yes I agree people need to be taught lessons to follow the law, but if given the option press charges or get your animals back I know how fast my decision would be the animals!

This seems to be a real problem lately and it's kind of scary because it's his home. Tyler also had an incident last year where someone let his Rhinos loose. He found them wandering around the neighborhood so it's possible Inky was too quick and somehow managed to escape. Hopefully there's a chance she's lurking somewhere nearby.
It's truly sad because there's nothing for these knuckleheads to gain by doing this and it hurts both Kenan and the Kamper community. The majority of us really appreciate the insight he provides each and every week (both educational and personal) but unfortunately it only takes one bad apple. If anyone out there has any information do the right thing and help bring these animals back safe!

Yes it's a problem, pets have been getting stolen and taken back to Mexico and resold. Especially French bulldogs.
Make sure to thank our current corrupt "President" diaper brains for the sky rocketing gang crime and other trash pouring back and forth thru the borders. In California it's a damn nightmare.

Y'know, I know this was uploaded 4 months ago and that you found the critters but I just have to say - I relate and I'm so sorry this happened to you. I gave my animals to a "lady" who I thought was my friend for over 2 yrs. I was going through a tough time so she offered free pet sitting and she said she'd take great care of them. She assured me that whenever I wanted them back, she'd gladly give them to me. I did a stupid thing; I trusted someone who I didn't know was a thief, even with warnings my family had given me. I've run this fish rescue for 9 yrs but at this time, being 15-16 yrs old and disabled, I needed help. I can't work a traditional job due to my debilitating health issues. I just needed a friendly hand...
She STOLE 7 of my beloved bettas, an australian rainbowfish, 2 amazing mosquitofish and many more. When I asked for them back she informed me that apparently, while visiting Wisconsin, had DONATED them to an aquarium. She knew I was in a different state and wasn't old or healthy enough to get them back. One of my favorite fish I've ever had, a stunning female betta named Cherry, was apparently given to a "friend that she didn't talk to anymore". Either she lied and the fish died, she sold it or this was the truth. Whatever the case she NEVER told me she was "downsizing", and never asked if I wanted my fish back. My beloved fish that took time and money to rehabilitate. I also let her rent my 125 gal tank with a stand so she could accommodate some bigger fish and guess what? She told that under my face too. I lost my $600 aquarium to a thief. She also came to my house one day, stole and sold a $250 fluval FX4 I was cleaning outside. This jerk stole from a disabled child! I mean, who does that?
I'm 18 now but this event has stilled scarred me. I'm a little man, only 5' tall, and my health issues have cost me my life since I was 2.5 yrs old. I know no different than pain and anguish. So if you know a lady by the name of Selena Chavez in Colorado Springs, CO, KEEP AWAY FROM HER.

Thieves are some of the biggest low-life degenerates on the planet. Are there worse acts, absolutely. But an individual that feels entitled to steal what another person works hard for are just scum.

I had two of my rhino iguanas taken. The feeling can’t even be expressed in words. Words don’t do it justice. You mentioned getting a dog. After I ended up getting my pitties. They are huge goofballs but fierce protectors. You do what you need to to protect your babies. My heart hurts for you and we all here in Florida will be listening for you today.

I don’t see anyone getting Inky out of that hide box without taking it apart. They may have tried and left the doors open when they realized it wasn’t possible. I would be searching all over the property for her.

Who buys animals like black dragons, black throats, and croc monitors from non reputable people at discount prices though? I just can't wrap my head around a black market for something that needs such specialized care and expensive care.

People have different reasons for doing these sorts of things but my patience for thieves is VERY low.
Too much is going on, and people use all kind of excuses to justify their bad behavior!
The best case scenario is that someone stole them just to resell. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but this and the other Florida thefts reek of spite or foul play from nefarious parties.

You don't deserve this pain and embarrassed that this sort of behavior in this community. I think you can file you land as a " No drone " fly over zone and a dog would help. These scumbags should be stopped. I pray they will just take them to Bush or a local vet and return your babies. Would a fund help you with security and posters of Inky and Bobby Rabino ? We are neighbors and watching videos because we have a 110 lb Sulkata. We dream of better habitats or any great pond or specific plants or food for him. We have lots of red and yellows and yes a lot of work and money. This community will do anything to help you. Neighborhood app and posters at our grocery store and gas station will be read by so many. Let this specific community have an opportunity to help you instead . Stay strong and positive. Don't let those thief's take your joy and positive attitude.
What really gets me, is that the thieves probably watch your videos, and know the exact layout of your place, including how Inky's hide is constructed. Rottweilers are excellent guard dogs, and they are extremely good with children. They are easy to train, don't bark for no reason, and have short coats that are easy to maintain.

Guardian dogs are great! Serious note: they're easy to train and will protect your kids as well. I'd highly recommend an Antolian shepherd or a Beaurcan, they'd do well with the heat.

This is the exact reason that Blake of Blake’s Exotic Animal Ranch wants to stay closed to the public and he has stated many times he will never be open to the public. He also has animals that are rare and critically endangered.
Blake is awful I watched him release rare animals into a lake because he wanted room for something cooler I’ve also watched him kidnap animals from the wild and claimed he rescued them LOL

Tom and Brian talked about this person in a video a couple months ago. The police need to go check him out immediately! No way Bobby or Inky would go quietly. He's got to have bites and scratches on his arms regardless of gloves and long sleeves!!

Big truth right here. You have to be actual bipedal garbage to pull this, especially on someone like Kenan...and unfortunately I do not blame you one bit for hesitating on running tours in the future to further educate people. Look into any home/property defense YT channels and see if you can run a collab on fortifying the property maybe? Definitely not showing off full specs on the security situation for obvious reasons, but just a thought. Wishing the best while the hunt is on.
Typically people don't steal stuff to keep it. Keep an eye out on sites like craigslist for them.

As defensive as Inky is and not taking the cover off his hide, how would they get him out? You may want to keep an eye out for him if they left the doors open.

Don't record the added security as much as we would like to see everything at the camp. It will only show the thieves potential weak spots
I leave little trip wires ,just fishing string I put in certain places strung across if someone tried there still gonna trip might think twice when you fall flat on your face in the dark!

This makes me sick. I am so sorry Kenan! I wish there is more that I could do...but I think you are definitely on the right track in fortifying the property, getting a dog, and taking other security measures to prevent this in the future. Hopefully the police and the Kamp Kenan Army will be able to bring a quick, happy resolution to this and you get these two special animals back unharmed.

I would install some security systems if you don’t already have one, i assume they watch this channel and took advantage of you being busy and tired/stressed with the Fred situation. I don't think that the thieves are actual viewers as in fans, but either opportunits or professional thieves who check out any number of reptile channels of people in their AoR to check out what they have in their collection that might be worth stealing. Then they probably watch more to get a feel for the lay of the land, where everything is, means of ingress and egress, and so on. They don't watch for entertainment, they watch for planning purposes.
@@Riceball01 I 100% agree. A true fan would never do this but it's someone watching.the video. This was 100% planned and executed but someone who KNEW what they were going in for. For the people who watch because they love the channel this is heartbreaking because they to have become attached to these animals as well. It's not the same as being with them every day and hands on but there's still love there.

It feels as if someone has stolen something from me. Have been following you for the last few years. Slinky/ Bobby / inky are my favourites. Hope u get ur animals and the culprits.

i mean if these scummy people are stealing animals i dont think they care much for any other animals thats probably why the cages were left open. and inky and bobby are his smaller lizard plus worth a lot. we all know they do watch his videos so they know lagatha slinky and even pinky are bigger and will probably be biting fingers off.
Probably because those animals are small enough, easy to handle and are expensive. Plus they know enough that there is no camera back there. The radiated fits the bill except there are cameras where there are kept if I’m not mistaken and they’re right by the house.
These two animals are easy to conceal and will get the thief the most money. It’s not anything to do with anything else. There’s a big market for these animals. For five minutes worth of work these guys may get $1000. It would take a lot more resources to nab any of the big animals and try to hide them till they can sell them.
I personally think that those two were targeted because they were the smallest and the most expensive. Thus providing to be less of a challenge in transporting. Imagine needing to wrestle slinky into a bag(if you chose lagatha... well you are a special kinda of stupid)... That will make a lot of noise.

I’m not sure what to say in times like this to be honest but I hope everything gets solved quickly and safety. I wouldn’t know what I’d do if my Mirr (green iguana) was taken.
