❤️ Thanks for your endless and support you have constantly shown me. I’m forever grateful. I really appreciate your unconditional love and support towards me.. Where are you watching from?
@@magnes1410 I wouldn't be so sure, I'd like to see more of him for sure and was upset to see him get stabbed. But I can also see why the writers would do that for shock value, also for the irony, he survived his clan getting raided and murdered in his oyabuns assassination attempt only to die by getting stabbed alone at night by a jealous clan member. It's like Sato said to samantha, the yakuza world "is dangerous, people get hurt, sometimes they go missing...". This perfectly shows that it is indeed a dangerous world where anything can happen. Before, he wanted to leave the yakuza, he thought the longer he stayed the more likely his fate would end up like Kumes. And that's what happened, the day he was going to leave he ends up helping his oyabun and is given kumes rank, then also ends up dying, it's sad but poetic
Just finished season 2 yesterday. It's been a long time since I've watched series as good as this. Amazing cast, amazing scenery, great plot and pace. I visited Japan half a year ago and this production just fuels my desire to go back ASAP :)
I couldn't agree more with you on this series. Two seasons and I'm greatly satisfied by it. The layers upon layers upon layers the series captures worlds within worlds.
I wonder if HBO or another network have plans to adapt Jake Adelstein's other books (The Last Yakuza and his upcoming book Tokyo Noir) one day? I hope so. Can't wait for a Tokyo Vice season two UK release date, I wish we had Max over here because if we did I'd be watching season two right now, I want to finish the series before I read the book, and I'm already hoping it'll be renewed for a third and probably final season eventhough season two isn't even finished yet! 🔥🔥🔥
I haven't seen any of season 2 yet but I have a feeling if it's successful they'll make a 3rd and final season. I'm waiting for season 2 to release in the UK after it's U.S run is finished like they did with season 1 by showing it on BBC-Love this show! 🔥
Just finished season 2, and HOPE for more seasons !!! (I'm also searching for interviews with the actors who played Soto and Towaza to see what they're like in real life).
I'm so hooked up with the show. Every character has a build up and complexity which blurs the line between bad and good. Although I'm not necessarily a fan of the protagonist. he's just careless and impatient.
Getting Michael Mann to direct the pilot was such a coup...and to think that he wasn't even the original choice of director (though Destin Daniel Cretton would've done a great job as well I'm sure). So many scenes felt like Heat taking place in Tokyo.
Love this, man. I love Asian cinema, Japanese animation is my favorite, but dorama is not for me because of the acting and production, so this series is perfect for me.
I hope the actors got to practice Japanese language & culture during all this downtime. It is difficult to watch “Jake” navigate Japanese culture as if he just got off the airplane when he is supposed to be better at Japanese than some Japanese. His character is supposed to be so immersed in the culture, but he behaves like he read the Cliff’s Notes on culture. Having said all of that, I’m a huge Michael Mann fan, so I’ll watch.
We still don't know that, people have survived worse, but it kinda made sense that he got killed. Tozawa can't get to his Oyabun without taking out Sato first, i honestly cried when he got stabbed, I want his character to live, but I doubt he's gonna make it. But I belive that's what separates a great show from a good show. It doesn't give the audience what they want but tells the story in an intended way.
Check out another clip from Tokyo Vice here: th-cam.com/video/Hdb_iLVWN_g/w-d-xo.html
I can't wait for season 2! I want to see more of Sato. Sho Kasamatsu did an excellent job.
❤️ Thanks for your endless and support you have constantly shown me. I’m forever grateful. I really appreciate your unconditional love and support towards me.. Where are you watching from?
wait, I thought the end of season 1 made it pretty clear he won't be in season 2...?
@@MrShabbaaaa For me, it's pretty clear that he's going to be in 2nd season. There is no way that they would kill him off.

Tokyo Vice is, without doubt, one of THE best TV-shows ever made IMHO.

I totally agree! The characters are all way deep! They are always growing and changing with a delicious mix of good and evil.

Not sure if I am a Japan buff, but man.....this and Shogun are these best TV series I have ever watched
This is one of the best shows I’ve seen in a very long time! The entire team did a great job!
The director’s Miami Vice back in the 80-90s were intense. I wish 5hey put this o. Netflix.

Season 2 is great! Getting ready to watch the Finale…Love it! ❤️
I'm so hooked up with the show. Every character has a build up and complexity which blurs the line between bad and good. Although I'm not necessarily a fan of the protagonist. he's just careless and impatient.

The cast is amazing. Season 2 please
This show is too damn good - the only thing they messed up on was playing Kelly Rowland's 2011 song in a 1999 timeframe lol
Love this show. Its absolutely one of the best things to watch right now. I watched it twice and I might consider a third time.
Can't wait for season 2, so excited honestly

when season 2?
Can't believe they killed Sato at the end of the season! His character really made the show worth watching!

Brilliant series want more Asap
I struggled to get past Ansel Elgort’s rape allegations in this. If he was gone and it was just about Sam and Sato I would be IN
Season 2please
what i hate the most is that my nerd friends idolatre japan and they have no clue tv shows like this one exist.
At first I thought this was a spin off of miami vice tv show
Raised by wolves season 3 please!
