Awesome video. Very clear and well done. I just bought a 91 MR2 and been thinking about k swapping it. Still doing research, ill be doing most of it myself due to labor costs.. but this video is definitely helpful. Thank you!
@@unknownalias5538 i paid $2500 non turbo with 66k miles on the chassis. $6500 is way too much for a non turbo. MR2 prices are going up thought. Snag them while you can.
How’s your progress? I got most the parts and about to drop engine soon. Still need wiring and ecu. IMO it’s not as easy as many people make it out to be. I dunno maybe I’m retarded 😂
@@TheFewmr2 no not yet, I ran into some issues with fuel tank but i think I got that all figured out and have engine ready to go. Will be dropping engine within the next few weeks and pretty much have everything else done. I kept doing a bunch of little stuff. Fixing AC vents, dash curl, cleaning etc. Its quite a bit of work IMO and more importantly money!
Do you happen to know bolt size specs for the passenger and driver side mounts? Those long ones. I think passenger side is threaded but driver not. I think it’s 1.25 thread pitch but could use the length and diameter. Thanks!
I'm absolutely mechanically inclined to do this, but I haven't been able to find a wiring video, which would be the most intimidating part for me. Will you be making a video about doing that? How to get it running is the only thing that keeps me from doing a job like this.
I think if you're gonna and easy 4-5k in it from start to finish plus the cost of the car. I think if you get all the top end parts or even add a turbo kit you can easily double that. It really depends on what kind of deal you come across and what you are willing to spend.
The lesson for this video is don’t tighten your bolts yet cause you need wiggle room. Haha great video need to see more subscribed.
Nice setup just did one myself they feel really good

Yes that's my next mr2 related video. I've actually just got the car back from painting the engine bay so once I get time I will tackle the wiring.
thanks for sharing. great video. subscribed.
Can you still use your stock gear stick and short shifter in side the car ..totally sick vid man
I would think you can. I'm using stock shifter box and cables. I just had to make the cable mount bracket.
Did u use ur ac o ur not running ac
I'm really torn on whether to go soild, or poly on my K20 MR2. What made you decide to go soild?
I would go poly if it's in the budget. I just opted out for the cheaper choice. I think I'm going to modify them to make them poly.
Go poly moly.
What trans is this
Rsx 6 speed
@@minh82683 do you use the rsx shift linkage and cables?

Minh's Garage damn that’s actually cheaper than a Toyota 300hp v6 swap cost.
Hey bro great info! Question, im looking at an AUTOMATIC MR2, can the swap still with with the auto version of the mr2
Not sure if the auto mr2 are the same. I think an email to hux racing will answer your question.
Minh's Garage for sure thanks man
If you're on Facebook there's a group call "k and j swap da world" there's alot of good info on there and you can post your question there.
