- During maneuvering our Ship touch one of the buoy and damaged our Propeller and Rudder. Our Ship became inoperative.
We need to check and secured everything before Ship sailed undertow to Drydock for repairs.

I have only overhauled the pumps. But seems like it was quite a strong hit. The rudder post is keyed and interference fit directly into the rotor of the vane type steering gear so no way that can move. I think the steering gear itself is fine apart from the gland damage. Relief valve arrangement should have worked though. If rudder has moved then it has fallen off from the pintles which has come loose. That’s what i am guessing.
Or if the rudder has locking bolts they might have sheared off due to impact.

Every 5 year you should open the top cover and check the thrust bearing clerance and top radial bearing clerance.
