Great job sir on showing us headstones & the way folks are remembered.
This saying was on a tombstone.
Remember me as you pass by. As you are now, so was I. As I am now, soon you shall be, so prepare for death and follow me.
The grave site I remember most is of a little boy reaching to the sky with a look of joy as he was leaving his wheelchair. Someone had left a teddy bear in his chair. His parents set up some kind of a fund to help many other sick & disabled children-- A great way to keep their child's memory alive.❤
And there was a big granet stone car type headstone. The brother of the young man who died had promised his brother that kind of car.❤
I'm a ghost hunter so I'm no stranger to cemetery's. Always am VERY respectful of folks resting places. Never take life for granted, each day/night is a true gift.

There are some beautiful stones in this one! I think you're right about the figures on the man's tombstone. It looked like a ladder to heaven to me. I noticed on the stone you looked at before his, they all died in 1882 within months and days of each other.

Yes, that’s the thing about those old old stones from the 1800s. They were also young just show you how far we’ve come in medicine.

I found it interesting at the memorial for John Jones. Look at these dates: John 1834-Aug 5, 1882, his wife Margaret 1834- Feb 13, 1882, daughter Mary Jane 1860-Feb 7, 1882, daughter Mabel Hattie 1878-July 29, 1882, daughter Eliza Ann 1862-Feb 5, 1882. Ok, the first born was Mary Jane, second born was Eliza Ann, third born was Mabel Hattie. Now let's look at death dates. Father died Aug 5, 1882, Mother died Feb 13, 1882, first daughter Mary Jane died Feb 7, 1882, second daughter Eliza Ann died Feb 5, 1882 and third daughter Mabel Hattie died July 29, 1882. So let's look closer. Mabel Hattie, the third daughter died July 29, 1882 and her father died Aug 5, 1882. about what, a week to 8 days apart? Then let's look at the mother and daughters. The second daughter Eliza Ann died Feb 5, 1882 and 2 days later the first daughter Mary Jane died on Feb 7, 1882 and then the mother died Feb 13, 1882 six days later. This is very interesting. Disease? Plague? Accident? I can't find them in my research. I'm not sure of the name of the Cemetery you were visiting but I looked under the Salem Cemetery and the Jerusalem Cemetery with no luck. Wonder what you stumbled upon with this one?? hehe

The name of the cemetery that that stone is in is called wales cemetery in wales Wisconsin and yes, I was thinking the same thing but I couldn’t find anything either. You could hear me say huh because I thought that was weird too that they all died in 1882 so yeah, I’m just curious as you are

I am also patriotic, every military grave I showed was an American soldier. I just happened to be an oriental cemetery.
