On the non fuel M18 version the inlet hose location is sunken in a cavity which makes it very hard for even someone with small hands like myself to put in the unlock position. If you are vacuuming up drywall dust it will cause the port on the hose to become stuck just before the unlock position. Using just my thumb I was able to break off the tab on the hose and break it. Remember, it is cheap plastic, and if you run into that situation be careful. I would only recommend getting the FUEL version of this vacuum, It is much better designed and has better access to the hose unlock. YOU WILL NEED to constantly take the hose out to unclog it (less so with the more powerful FUEL version) due to the hose being just an 1/8th too small it seems to vacuum up most construction debris such as wood chunks and spray foam chunks. It may seem nice to save 120 dollars but the fuel version is worth the extra $

Yes al the vacuums have problems. Still like them tho. Other than the hose I've never had any other problems.

The way the hose attaches to the inside of the vacuum (at least in the non fuel version) is indeed really, really stupid. Obviously designed by people who never tried to use it.

Thank you Thank you Thank you. I had a list of things to do today and that was the first thing and within less than a minute I had to think fix by watching your video. my problem was the the other end of the hose where the connector goes to the attachments. But it was reverse thread just like you had on the attachment into the dry back itself. Thank you

the actual key to this repair: the hose threads into the end pieces, but the thread is REVERSE / LEFTHAND.

Literally came to this video just to see how the hose unhooks to find someone in the comments having the same problem talking about drywall dust and it all clicked

Poorly designed hose location is what weakens the hose inside the the coupler.

Get some Gorilla tape, red loctite, and some JB weld and that hose won’t come out again. LOL 😂. Have a great day Toolhead….

The hose and coupler inlet should have never been designed to be mounted vertically like it is. Milwaukee should have put the inlet on the side facing outwards like every other vacuum design.
This hose and coupler issue will be a prolonged problem. Every few months you will be dealing with this same issue until you complain to Milwaukee, sell it, or throw it away for a better designed wet dry vac.
