This is a really well acted scene (first saw this in my early 30's, now 41 and it resonates a bit differently now). You can see both are just dealing with this in their own way, both are inexperienced and are just sharing their feelings. Ultimately Erin has final say (and should) but you can't help but feel for Jason (if I was Erin's Dad I would only let her go forward with it if Jason signed a contract on steps he would take to provide and be a Father regardless if Erin and him stated together).
