Toadie and Toadstool. Yeah that don't stand right. Look at the size difference. To me, it look like a kid adult relationship lol. We only stan and care about Beatrix and Dritonio.
@@Metal_Dragon_ A copy can be still the same person, just look at Star Trek and the beaming technology. Besides, he may have been lying, maybe he saved Anne at the end but not her body, and just copied her body. In which case the truth is how a person views things, just like how Ben Kenobi from Star Wars lied truthfully about what happened to Luke's father.
@@oprime and in Doctor Who with the metacrisis copy of the tenth doctor complete with memories, looks, and personality. Rose Tyler got her fairytale happily ever after with the love of her life that we didn’t think was possible.
@@CoralDragoness I don't think it was the guardian messing it up, I think it's supposed to be a symbolic change by the writers to put emphasis on the idea that she's not the original
Also was her birthday on the day of the invasion originally? Or is that her birthday cause it's the clones birthday? I don't remember if they mentioned that or not
I just realized Season 1 Finale: Sasha has a fakeout death. Season 2 Finale: Marcie has a fakeout death. Season 3 Finale: Anne has a fakeout death (kinda). Anne was the only one who properly died and didn’t need to apologize for anything.
It seems Matt Braly didn’t just give a special thanks during the closing credits to his mom, but also to good friends and fellow creators Alex Hirsch AND Owl lady Dana Terrace herself! Those three definitely go hand-in-hand in each other’s work!
I just realized something! Both Sprig and Anne become biologists! I didn't quite catch it the first time through but when Sprig is drawing the mossman, that's an entry in a bestiary, a record of creatures in the world and an important recording method for biologists and their precursors. Throughout the series, Sprig always knows what creatures they meet are, and continuing to go on adventures he's probably looking for new species to identify and record in his bestiary. This means he has basically the same job in his world as Anne has in her world, which means their fates are still connected and I just think that's the cutest detail and should not be overlooked.
I think Sasha and Anne fell into different friend groups because of their different interests and career paths they wanted to pursue but they always stayed friends and connected on occasion to solidify that which is actually kind of realistic in my opinion. Plus they will always have that bond from Amphibia!
Me over here hoping Kikimora comes around and gets a moment like that 😂 Not holding my breath but if Andrias got to break away from the controlling tyrant he had been loyal to for hundreds of years and have some moments of repentance, I want to see the little hand gremlin get that chance too- especially since Belos wants her and everyone else on the Isles dead.
I actually love how Anne and Sasha kinda drifted apart, the message is that no matter the distance or where life leads you, being true friends means you’ll always be connected. Even if you don’t talk for years, you can send one only message and feel like it’s been only a few hours. I lived 3 years apart from my best friend (not much compared to 10 years but it’s still a lot ), after only 1 year knowing them. Those 3 years being in elementary school, we didn’t have phones and didn’t communicate much. But it’s been now 7 years since I came back, and they’re still my best friend and one of the most precious people in my life. Amphibia has brought so much joy to me, I am devastated by it’s end but so grateful it happened! Love ur reactions as always! Team Sasha !
@@sold4 I love being able to experience a friendship like that ^^ It’s so good to know you have someone so close to your heart even if they’re miles away
I think people really were just frustrated because if kinda felt out of the blue and disjointed with what they went through in the show. I agree that it was realistic though really weirdly explained in a very short exposition. It was a realistic outcome for a very very unrealistic relationship. I went through similar things myself, I'm post timeskip trio's age, but the thing is I had a normal childhood. I didn't save the world with my friends lol. It's just not very believable considering that they saved the world together.
I moved 6 times. It's now been 10 years since I've last been in the place before the one I know live in. This episode made me cry knowing that if I went back right now my best friends wouldnt remember me and even if they did I've changed so much and they've probably changed so much that we most likely wouldn't even connect anymore. Does Esejan still like starwars? Does Ömer still take his bike to the skatepark? Does Seyman still play racing games on his dad's pc? Does Berfin still take her sled down the hills behind my old home? My next door neighbor does she still prepare her cucumber sandwiches? Is she even still alive? What about that one grandpa that used to collect mushrooms in the field behind our home? I hope everybody is well.
I grew up with my best friend for 12 years, and we stayed best friends even when we both moved to different states. Unfortunately, a little over 2 years ago, her (very conservative and homophobic) parents found out that we’re both LGBTQ+, automatically assumed I was “influencing” her, and blocked all contact between us. So I haven’t been able to contact her since March of 2021. She’ll be turning 18 in about 2 more years, and I hope we’ll be able to see each other again as soon as possible. I have no doubts that when we finally do, we’ll pick up like no more than a few days has passed. I just wish it would be sooner.
Another note to Elijah, Matt Braly confirmed that the girls had stayed in close contact before finally reuniting all together after 10 years, so it's more likely that it was the time when Marcy was finally ready to ask Sasha about her and Anne's friendship directly. P.S. I'm looking forward to the reaction on the new episode of The Owl House. It's going to be wild.
So in 78 years, Anne is gonna become a multiverse god? And she still gets to have a mostly normal life till then. THAT’S FREAKING CRAZY and AWESOME!!!!
Finally now I can use this absurd uno reverse card in the Owl House Reddit, I made a poll last year talking about Anne vs Luz and people downvoted me for saying Anne would win, now they can’t argue against a literal God. Pretty Sure Anne rivals Bill Cipher and Star in terms of strongest Disney characters
@@kiboma4209 It depends on whether you're talking about human Anne, Anne with powers, or Guardian Anne (Guardianne). Because by being a god, one could say Anne transcends the concept of what it means to be Anne.
Another reactor made me realize that Andrias is basically Anne if she didn’t stand up for herself and kept letting Sasha manipulate her and that blew my mind.
I mean yeah they've been paralleled a lot. Just think about their 1v1 where Andrias tries to convince Anne to let go of her friends and she says she doesn't want to become miserable like him
Which reactor? I need to find more reactors to watch, everybody I'm currently following has or almost has finished the shows I followed them for and is now reacting to other stuff.
What struck me most about Andrias’ goodbye to Marcy was that yes, he was definitely surprised to realize that she had forgiven him, but he had not forgiven himself. Even in the previous episode when Sprig read Leif’s letter to him, he still didn’t believe that he was worthy of forgiveness, because he had taken things too far and done terrible things. Credit where credit is due, Keith David is amazing.
It's true, he did do terrible things. But which one is better? Realizing this and continuing to do bad things anyway, or turning yourself around and try to be the best you can be with the time you have left? Everyone else in Amphibia may not forgive him (which is valid), but at the very least, it will give him a piece of mind and he'll be able to honor his lost friend. Also yes, Keith David is a national treasure.
When the girls started repairing their friendship, a part of me was hoping that they'd try to make other friends, too. I think a part of what made their relationship so toxic at first was their dependence on each other: Sasha was afraid to lose control, Marcy was afraid to lose her friends, and Anne was afraid to make her own decisions. Learning to let go of each other a bit was, I think, the best possible thing. Still cried a bit, though.
After 3 years of adventures, laughter, depression, and a lot of crying this incredible history has come to an end, Elijah I am like you, I am speechless I have cried from beggining to end with this beautiful ending, Amphibia changed my life and make this much better, I will always be very grateful to him for teaching me so many things that I will always be with me, I think...that is the Hardest Thing, saying goodbye to our favorite show, This series made me cry, laugh, get emotional, take it out on characters but the most valuable thing be left me were the messages....None of this is easy for us..but as the most valuable message sent by this series says: "Change is difficult but that us how we grow, the hardest thing must be to give you realize that you can't hold on to something forever, you have to let it go, but in the moment you let go this thing..You'll be amazed at what can come back to you" -Anne Boonchuy 2022 😭💖 I can only say..Thanks for everything Matt Braly, you are the fucking admin and idol to follow go for having created this work of art, the best Disney show and my favorite all my life, I'm going to miss all this very much but even Amphibia ends the moments and memories of her will never be erased in her fandom because this series marked a before and after in animation and this maked all us, I'm literally crying right now as I write this. Amphibia I love you, I never forget you, Thanks for exits in my life. 😞💖😭 PD. AND SASHA IS BISEXUAL!! OMG!!!!😂😆💖🏳️🌈 I ALWAYS KNEW THIS.. >:)
Me too, I love everything about this show, but today is the end. This is not goodbye, just see you later. And besides we can just watch it again on youtube maybe on netflix if they upload it. Once again, see you later👋👋❤
I think this is an unexpectedly mature and realistic take on the childhood "power of friendship/childhood best friends", and maybe even the "found family" trope too. The message is "The people you love and care for the most will leave your lives when you get older, for one reason or another. Sometimes they'll come back, but sometimes... all you'll get to hold on to is the memories." That's a tough pill to swallow, even for adults, but at least it's not outright depressing.
Yes as someone still in my teens who's moved 6 times already I loved the message and ending. I've had other people often leaving too. I've had to let go of so many people in my life and each time it still hurts and I'm always left grieving the end of our time together. I will never get used to it. But you have to cherish the time you did have. Because even if people leave your life the time they were there for was special wasn't it? It's like a carousel or rollercoaster it's a fun ride but you have to get off eventually. You'll get on another one or maybe you don't. And maybe you'll return and take another ride on it years later. And you'll find that it's different then how you remember it or maybe you've changed and your view on the experience isn't the same anymore. But it's still the same ride. You can grow to like it again though it won't be the same or you can decide that it's for the best and try something else.
God, Anna's farewell to the Planters keeps making me cry, I'll never get over it. How Polly became a little sister to her, how Hop Pop ended up incorporating her into the family and wanting her as a member of it... and then there is Sprig, who gives us the example of a beautiful friendship and despite the distances he and Anna They will always have the memory of their adventures and the emotions they shared together. Muchas gracias Amphibia por ser tan TAN buena serie y tener un cierre tan hermoso.
Imagine your capacity for self-growth being so impressive that it catches the attention of a literal GOD. Anne Boonchuy really is just that good of a character
Her Calamity powers were from her heart the most important part of your body and the part that is always pointing to what you know is good no matter what, Marcy was the brain which can easily get lost in fantasy and make you lose yourself, and Sasha was muscle which meant she could always brute force through her problems but without heart neither of the other two matter
The fact that Anne gave Sprig her phone, the one personal belonging she's risked life and limb to just keep running, to keep forever, is just another detail that smashes my heart to pieces.
Kinda mad that we didn't see Anne's parents again. Btw: Technically the trio can visit Amphibia with Terri's help if they manage to pinpoint the portal in a certain location. So the three can visit, set on a time period with Terri, hang out with their friends and family and go back to the location where Terri opens the portal again.
@@Jor__DS I don't think so. Maybe Anne might have a bit of her power hidden away somewhere, but from what I read in posts from Marcy's journal, without the calamity powers they'd basically have to hook the portal directly to a nuclear reactor in a power station to get enough power to open it properly.
This finale has got to be the best, most thought out, brilliantly executed finale I've seen since Regular Show and Gravity Falls. It thought of everything, it had action and soul-ascending payoffs, it left the story open ended yet gave the best sense of closure to the viewers, it shows the characters all grown up and I can't praise the show enough for how amazing it is. Thank you Matt Braly and the Amphibia Crew, I'll be sending the therapy bills later
It's more like, this show was a complete therapy, at least I feel that way about this ending. This is the ending (also the whole show) I never knew I needed.
Speaking of planned The whole 3-5 minute scene where the Frobots and the girls are pushing back at the "moon" is a direct reference to a scene in the Gundam Movie , Chars Counterattack, where both sides cease fighting and all the piloted enemy robots fly past the other side, who look confused, then ram into the falling meteorite, ending up alongside the main protagonist. Shotwise it takes MANY key moments from that scene, Marcy basically standing in for the confused soldiers the mechs fly past for example
I'm here from a month in the future from my last comment, right after the finale of TOH, and I gotta say, Watching and Dreaming really took the cake for me. But man, Amphibia was great, too.
"Change can be difficult, but it's how we grow. It can be the hardest thing, to realize that somethings you can't hold onto forever. Sometimes, you have to let it go. But of the things you let go, you'd be surprised, what makes it's way back to you." - Anne Boonchuy 2022
Every season finale, each of the girls has experienced a near-death experience in increasing intensity; Sasha fell off toad tower Marcy got stabbed and WOULD HAVE died if she wasn’t put in the rejuvenation tank Anne DID die, and was revived
22:25 i think the fact that Anne now knows exactly when she is going to die (13 + 78 = 92 years old) is far more disturbing than her becoming a multiuniversal goddess, but hey...
I would personally find that a bit comforting, seeing as i would actually know how much time i had and would be able to figure out what to do with it, since a lot of people die before they achieve their big dream or goal or something
I am so happy that the show took their lives after amphibia so realistically. Like, they didn't exactly stayed together at the end, they grew apart and kept growing into their own persons even without each other. That's just life, but that doesn't erase the memories and the bond they share and eventually they found their ways back to each other and I think that's beautiful.
The whole thing about clone-Anne seems pretty clear-cut to me: Anne died but a copy of her was kept alive by The Guardian. The fact that it's not "our" Anne is subtly indicated by the fact, that copy-Anne wears her one shoe on her right foot, where original Anne always had it on her left foot. Anne died happy though, and her clone is basically gonna become a god, so...
@@scarletsage6267 if a "soul" was involved in any way, The Guardian would have mentioned it. I am not sure Matt Braly even believes in the existence of a soul, and we certainly can't just assume, that there is such a thing in this universe. Instead The Guardian uses a very specific phrase: "for all intents and purposes, you're the same..." - not exactly the kind of thing you tell someone, unless they are somehow different.
@@CannibalShinobi nah, I honestly love when a show pulls a surreal turn like this. It's very anime. I was getting strong Neon Genesis Evangelion vibes from a lot of elements in the last few episodes of Amphibia. And then it ends with an offer to the protagonist to become a god! I love it.
They still stayed friends, but they realized how toxic their friendship was beforehand. Also, they are still close enough to spend Anne’s birthday together 10 years later
@@alllittlethingzz but didnt they get untoxic and learn how to be true friends? (sasha redemption arc??) i dont think they realized how toxic they were i think they just drifted apart as sasha says
The floating island that Anne found herself on after she died is identical to a painting seen on her bedroom wall in S3E1. I love how Matt keeps bringing back things that seem insignificant at the time.
Alternate time skip ending for Sashanne shippers 10 years have past. Marcy's airplane lands. As Marcy leaves the gate she is greeted by Sasha who came to pick her up. (Marcy carrying with her, her luggage and a gift bag with Hoppy Birthday written on it with a picture of a frog; suggesting its a birthday gift for Anne). Sasha and Marcy leave the airport in Sasha's red convertible. They're making there way on the freeway as they start to catch up. Sasha: Gosh its been a minute. How was the flight? Marcy: Pretty good, can you believe its been 10 years. Sasha: Crazy, right. So what have you been up to? Still doing that web comic? I've read a few chapters, its awesome. Marcy: Chow, thanks. Its doing pretty well alright. And how about you, Psych degree come in handy? Sasha: Yup. I really like working with the kids, helping them overcome there emotional baggage, I have a lot of experience. Marcy: Sooo, did you and Anne hang out much after I moved? Sasha's left hand moves to her right cheek; [ focus shifts to the rear view mirror ] as you see Sasha's index and middle finger caresses her scar. As her hand pulls out of view of the rear view mirror at the last moment a gold glimmer of light reflects off the rear view mirror. Sasha: At first yeah, but we kind of fell into different friend groups in high school. We still talked but every once in a while. But we did reconnect after high school, and you know... Sasha: So have you heard what Anne's been up to these days? Marcy: Yes, aand I LOVE IT! The scene cut to an overview of the Aquarium on the Pacific. We find out Anne works for the Aquarium, and we find her teaching a group of school kids. Anne: This energetic fella is a Pink South American Tree Frog Children in unison: So cool!!! Anne: I named him Sprig, after a dear dear friend of mine. The school kids leave. Anne places the frog she named Sprig back in its habitat display; pets its head, and closes its door with her left hand. As she pulls her hand back we find that Anne has a wedding ring. Anne's Inner Monologue: "Change can be difficult, but it's how we grow. It can be the hardest thing to realize you can't hold on to something forever. Cause the things you let go, you'd be surprised what makes its way back to you." [ Anne turns around ] Anne notices Marcy and Sasha are there at the entrance to the frog exhibit, Marcy waves hello. Anne's eyes are mesmerized by Sasha as Sasha gazed back so intently into Anne's eyes in return. Sasha: Hey Babe ! [ Sasha waves at Anne ] Anne's eyes water up slightly with overwhelming joy as she blushes ever so subtly. Anne runs to Sasha her watered up eyes glittering as she blinks. As Anne gets close to Sasha she leaps into the air to embrace her. Sasha catches Anne and they begin to twirl 360 degrees before coming to rest . Both chuckling in there usual way as they twirled. Anne's blushing intensifies as she looks deeply into Sasha's eyes with her arms wrapped around Sasha. Overwhelmed by Anne's cute blushing face Sasha's eyes widens as she gasp/blushes slightly then narrows her eyes slightly as her now blushing face intensifies greatly. Tension is building greatly between them. ( The music matches the intensity) ( Focus shifts to there profile) Anne's mouth puckers slightly as Sasha takes charge lifting her arms as she closes the distance between them to embrace Anne, her left hand caressing Anne's face her thumb pressing against Anne's bottom lip revealing that Sasha has a wedding ring as well. [To each other their wife. ] ( Music softens as it transitions to Anne's song "Its no big deal, " that Anne, Sasha, and Marcy played in the battle of the bands episode) Anne and Sasha share a passionate KISS. [ there KISS is seen as the view of it pans nearly 360 degrees around them] [ as the panning stop, there KISS finishes, the focus widens and we see Marcy in her most exaggerated Kawaii pose in support and admiration for her friends LOVE ] Anne and Sasha's eyes still locked on to one another. Marcy who can't contain herself any longer rushes in, and hugs her friends as the trio is back together again. Anne, Sasha, and Marcy are all joined together in a laugh as the three of them exit the frog exhibit. THE END
The way I see it, this is essentially Anne with one crucial difference: she didn't die. That's the point of divergence. Other than that, she's a perfect copy: her likes, dislikes, life experiences, etc. Like copying a computer file.
No she died. If you make a copy of an original, the clone/copy has it's similarities but it's not the original. It will have the same qualities, memories, etc, but yes, Anne did officially die.
Yeah Amphibia will seriously be up there with Gravity Falls and even Avatar TLA as one of the top cartoons of this generation. It’s going to be REALLY hard to move forward to another cartoon/anime to get addicted to with characters this endearing but as Anne said Change is the hardest thing but it’s how we grow. Thanks Amphibia…for everything.
What I love most about this ending is that Matt left the relationship between the girls open for interpretation, while still focusing on the friendship aspect because that’s the core of the show. Meaning that fans that shipped them before can still ship them now while other fans like myself can still see them as friends. Writers that leave things open for interpretation is the best because both sides can believe one thing while the other can believe another and there isn’t (or shouldn’t be) any discourse.
A little bit about the "Sasha and Anne going different ways in hs", I feel that its actually really realistic. Like yes, they saved the world, but they moved on with their lives as teens. And teens separate from friends and gain new ones all the time, its a part of life. That doesn't mean this experience hasn't changed their relationship forever or that they are any less close, because they clearly still keep in contact. Its clear that they are still very close (actually my personal headcanon is that after this reconection scene they do become even closer and become besties again), but I appreciate they let each go their different ways and didn't force them to be best friends. They saved the world, and their relationship strengthend because of it, but that doesnt mean they now have to be tied by the hip forever.
That doesn't mean you have to let your memories go, you hold on to them and that's what helps you in the future. The message is pretty clear and beautiful, because you keep walking through the experiences you had, and that's what make you who you are in the present and remembering your loved ones is what will guide you in the future. Perfect.
Now we have 10 confirmed gays in this show: -Jess -Ally -Olivia -Yunnan -Sasha -The gay married background characters from Sprig's Birthday -Mr. X -Toadie -Toadstool -Jenny 🏳🌈✔️❤
I look at Anne’s “copy” this way. The Guardian created an exact copy of Anne’s body, and when Anne died, her soul was transferred by the Guardian into the new body. So just as the Guardian said, “For all intents and purposes, you the same Anne Boonchuy”.
I'm just glad Marcy got some sweet revenge against the Core after what it did to her. Also, Marcy's two newt moms are officially canon! Whooo-hoooo!!!!!!!
amazing finale but can we talk about how the deity indicates Anne is gonna live to be 91 I also love how Andrias gets Barrel's Warhammer and uses it to help him walk, its a memory of his old friend...it feels fitting for him to have it in the end
1) Your reaction to bi Sasha was exactly what I expected lol 2) "Olivia and Yunan are fcking together" that was an incredibly unintentional yet hilarious choice of words 3) I've been using literally every spare second of my week making amphibian fanart pls where has my life gone 4) Yes we still got the owl house. the two episodes until the season is over. And then the compressed 3rd season yay disney uh 5) if I had a coin for every time I cried watching the finale I'd be a millionaire by now 6) Marcy wrote heartstopper it is canon in my head. so like a headcannon. but I'm too sure. 7) "well this will definitely cause some existential dread later on" well girl, this whole episode is causing us existential dread so suck it up /jk 8) the gays have been fed
My response to 7, I keep suggesting that she'd do Bojack Horseman, because of Wendie Malick as Bojack's mom. But your #7 entry made me realize maybe she's not cut out for it.
This episode had everything a finale should have. The entire crew did an amazing job and its sad to see it come to an end. What made it even better was watching Elijah's reactions. I Can't wait for what comes next!
I going to admit: I didn't cry when this episode aired, but that doesn't mean I didn't get enough trauma to all the emotions and moments in only this episode. This episode had a perfect balance of Power (the battles and super powers), Knowledge (the responsibilities and future decisions on all characters) and Heart (the sacrifices and the true meaning of saying goodbye). At first I didn't like this show, but it slowly crawled into my heart and transformed into one of my favorites. Now all that's left is The Owl House, in the Golden Era of Disney Shows (for Convoluted Stories and Mysteries), that started in 2012 with Gravity Falls. And honestly, I'm not ready. It needs to have another season, no matter what! If Amphibia was able to put this much effort and choices and lessons, why can't The Owl House?
This show's finally hit soo hard too... it brought me back memories of when I watched Markiplier playing "One Shot"... the end still makes me cry when I think about it...
When Anne died, at the exact moment right before death, an exact copy was made of her. This means right when her original body died, she awoke in the deity's realm. The Deity says that she is the same Anne Boonchuy, because she is. Its an exact copy, meaning it is like a soul transfer to a new body that isn't going to die in a millisecond. This is also how she can be sent back, because if her body died and she was sent back to it, she would still be dead.
“How’s her back? Does anyone want to know how her back is going?” I’m more interested with Marcy and the enormous scar that goes down both her front and back lmao Edit: Also, in regards to the end part you were upset about with them not being as close in high school…I think that it’s a major testament to their friendship that they’ve still stayed consistently close and in contact their entire lives since then, even if they weren’t attached at the hip. They still mean a lot to each other, and probably understand one another more than almost anyone else could, but they just have different stuff going on is all.
They always had different interests, and this shows just exactly how Sasha really changed, because she's not trying to take control of their friendship, she's letting all that happen instead and go with the flow of it. Besides, when she said "we talk every once in a while" I sense she's like trying to hold her emotions, she never said it wasn't difficult, and she never said she didn't care of her, and I bet that the times they still talked it was with a smile on their faces, because they remember everything that made their bonds stronger.
If I had a nickel for every time Charlyne Yi voiced an animated otherworldly being with gemstones embedded into them, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice, right?!?!?
Funny thing , when SU officially ended , I didn’t think I’d move on , then eventually, Amphibia came into my life and changed everything. *AND NOW I’M FEELING THE SAME FEELING AGAIN*
Tense moment broken by Marcy tripping over a piece of asteroid to the surprise of absolutely nobody! This show's ability to break tension with a laugh out loud moment is brilliant.
Everything about this finale is near perfection. The music, the voice acting, the animation, the final battle, the entire epilogue. It's been a real wild ride and it's not gonna be easy accepting Amphibia being over (I'm certainly coping), but as Anne said: _"It can be the hardest thing to realize you can't hold on to something forever. Sometimes, you have to let it go; but, of the things you let go, you'd be surprised what makes its way back to you."_ I love this show, and I can't wait to see your final Amphibia reaction. :)
I absolutely love the The End esthetic. The frog that looks like Sprig and the girls leaving the Frog exhibit and then the The End comes on the screen with the Frog still beside it. Also I love that the show started with Anne’s birthday and ended with Anne’s birthday. Side note I can’t wait for The Owl House reaction Video.
My Amphibia Analysis 1.) There are 3 sets of characters who fit the colors of the gems along with their personalities. (Blue, red/pink, & green). Anne, Sasha, & Marcy. Lady Olivia, General Yunnan, & Captain Grime. King Andrias, Leif, & Barrel. 2.) Each of the Calamity trio were paired with their second best traits. Anne is Heart, and was paired with Sprig, who's red representing Strength. Sasha is Strength, and was paired with Grime, who's green representing Intelligence. Marcy is Intelligence, and was paired with King Andrias, who's blue representing Heart. 3.) Each of the Calamity Trio had to fight their matching amphibian(s) who matched their gem color. Blue Gem - Anne fought King Andrias in Both the Season 2 & 3 finales. Red/Pink Gem - Sasha Almost killed Sprig in the Season 1 finale, Reunion, & fought General Yunnan in season 2. Green Gem - Marcy- well Darcy- fought Grime in the Season 3 finale but it would've been nice to see her battle another green amphibian sometime in the show. 4.) Each of the calamity Trio fought their enemies with the gem color of the enemy. Blue Gem - Anne fought Sasha with Sprig in the season 1 finale, both of them representing Strength, the red/pink gem. Red/Pink Gem - Sasha fought Darcy with Grime in the Season 3 finale, both representing Intelligence, the green gem. Green Gem - Marcy fought King Andrias not with Lady Olivia or anyone of the enemy's gem color, aka the blue gem, representing Heart. 5.) In each Season Finale, one member of the Calamity Trio would either die or almost die and come back later. Anne in Season 3 Finale, The Hardest Thing, S3 EP 18 Sasha in Season 1 Finale, Reunion, S1 EP 20 Marcy in Season 2 Finale, True Colors, S2 EP 20
The theme that plays while Sprig is trying to keep his tears in is the same theme that plays whenever he & Anne are having a best friends moment in season 1.
It's been almost a week now, and I still can't really believe this show is over... Getting to see everyone grown up was incredible. Also, on that topic, from what I understand, the Amphibia time skip is only like, 9 months(?) and then the human world time skip is 10 years. That's why it doesn't show "10 years later" until after the Amphibia skip. As for Anne and Sasha not hanging out, when I first heard her say that, I definitely felt like it was incredibly bizarre for them to fall away from each other after literally facing an invasion, multiple near (and technically actual) death experiences, and saving two worlds at the same time. And I still do feel that. However, they all seemed in touch enough to be really interested in each other's career paths, with Sasha saying she'd been reading Marcy's web comic, Marcy asking about Sasha's second degree, Sasha mentioning Anne's job and then Marcy saying she knew about it and loved it; all leads me to guess that while they didn't hang out in person much after Marcy moved, they all kept pretty close in touch online. And then of course, their rekindled friendship at the end brings it all back together.
I knew even you had to give Andrias his due when he finally overcame the core. Andrias really was a masterfully done villain, and I'm glad they gave him peace. And yeah, giving us Olivia/Yunan was a real sweet treat. As for the high school thing, I think the overall implication is going back to the lesson that just because you drift apart true friendship will always stand the test of time, hence their reunion at the end showing that they're stronger than ever. After all, Sasha didn't say that they ever stopped being friends. Overall one of the best series finales I've ever seen.
So the guardian basically confirmed Anne will live another 78 years which would make her 91 when she dies. If Anne accepts his offer she may be able to travel between Earth and Amphibia as often as she wants. The ending is amazing but it also leaves tons of room to add to the story as well. They could easily make a Amphibia movie or series about Sprig and Ivy exploring the new continent in Amphibia or have Anne travel back to Amphibia and meet the next generation of Plantars or fans could create these new stories themselves. I think the ending is perfect cause the limit of the real ending is our own imagination.
Fun fact: the Outro Song is every main character’s theme songs put together! The first bit is Sprig’s theme, then Marcy’s, then Heartstomper (Sasha) and then Anne’s!
Sasha had her attempted self sacrifice in Season 1 Marcy had her unintentional self sacrifice in Season 2 Anne had her intentional and accepted self sacrifice in Season 3
I’ve been saying this a lot: Matt - you created a legacy title for all animation kind!!! Shoutouts to the entire crew!!!! I’m forever proud of Anne, Marcy, and Sasha for becoming better people (and as we’ve all seen Sasha’s bi!) SPRANNE AGAINST THE WORLD!!!
I'm going to say that, while I will always love SVTFOE, Matt Braly did what SVTFOE was scared to do: Give us a bittersweet but correct ending. The Plantars and Anne are separated forever, but will grow up to be better people and frogs, not allowing an open ending where "maybe they can come back someday" It hurts? Yeah, but they are happy in the end, even if that hurts. And I prefer that kind of ending: Not a downer, neither a glittery happily ever after. A correct balance.
It’s been months since this episode’s release, and I still cried watching Anne and Sprig’s goodbye. Also, I think you’re reaction was standard; at least, I also cried and went insane. The night I watched the finale, it was like 3:00 a.m. and I was already having a mental breakdown bc of school, so I was sobbing in the bathroom for basically the whole episode. We love emotional breakdowns from children’s cartoons
I love the comedic pause around 30:46 *sees Bessie and Joe together* Elijah *pauses, taking the fact in slowly* *plays again only to find that the two have a snird* Elijah: *pauses and loses her mind*
This was a bittersweet, but perfect ending for Amphibia. However, I am crossing my fingers, and hoping and praying this is not how The Owl House ends. Liz not being able to see her awesome GF, her cool aunt Lilly, her other mom, her titan brother and all of her friends.......please Dana. Don't do that to us.
There are two theories. The Anne "copy" is either a clone, or the guardian created a new body for the original Anne just before she died and transferred her consciousness to it, similar to what the Core did (this seems to more likely scenario), but yeah, trying to figure out if she is the original or a clone would cause her some major existential dread. And 78 years from now, the guardian is going to ask her again to see if she feels worthy. The guardian said she gets a choice, so she can still turn it down; the guardian isn't a jerk.
The final message was bittersweet for me too, but having reflected on it with a cool head and seeing reactions, I think it was both a humanly realistic and emotionally satisfying way to end the show. Life and people change, but it doesn’t have to be scary. Sasha and Marcy were both in the wrong because they were terrified of things changing beyond their control. In accepting that change, they grew into better, more complete and healthy people, and when they find each other again, they're all the better for it. The friendship they share isn’t thrown down the drain, it evolves with them.
@@CannibalShinobi Nah. It could perfectly happen. And no, it wasn't "shoehorned", who the fuck shoehorned it, Matt Braly? who probably had the epilogue planned since before the show aired?
@@CannibalShinobi But that's the thing, they spent less time together, found other friends, moved, talk lessed, but they have this bond that endures all that. Hence them meeting back up and becoming close again as adults.
@@thedragondread9587 I highly doubt he had it planned from the very beginning, there would have been actual build up to it. For the girls to be friends, turn to enemies, reconcile and claim to have a strong bond, only for that bond to wane to a mere Facebook IM every couple of months off screen is very shoe horned in. Elijah and many fans weren't too happy and Matt having to jump on Twitter for damage control to explain it doesn't help. It was completely unnecessary and adds nothing to the story.
Elijah: "How do you go from saving the universe and growing as people to barely talking in highschool?" Me a comicbook fan: I mean it is friday, it was bound to happen.
I love how they sneaked in the bisexuality-heart sticker by putting it on the mirror of Sasha's car. They confirmed the theories, but not in a direct way which is refreshing to see :)
I think that the fact that they made Anne and Sasha fall into different friend groups in high school was a good decision though, it amplifies the show’s lesson ,,Things aren’t always going to be the same’’

One of the craziest little details I learned is that the “copy” Anne has her missing shoe and sock inverted.

And if the guardian messed up something as simple as that, then what else could have been messed up? Memories, physical details, habits, etc…
@@CoralDragoness I don't think it was the guardian messing it up, I think it's supposed to be a symbolic change by the writers to put emphasis on the idea that she's not the original

Season 1 Finale: Sasha has a fakeout death.
Season 2 Finale: Marcie has a fakeout death.
Season 3 Finale: Anne has a fakeout death (kinda).

It seems Matt Braly didn’t just give a special thanks during the closing credits to his mom, but also to good friends and fellow creators Alex Hirsch AND Owl lady Dana Terrace herself! Those three definitely go hand-in-hand in each other’s work!
Yeah, Braly storyboarder and wrote a bunch of stuff for gravity falls, which is probably why mike rianda was in the special thanks too
Even his own cat
I just realized something! Both Sprig and Anne become biologists! I didn't quite catch it the first time through but when Sprig is drawing the mossman, that's an entry in a bestiary, a record of creatures in the world and an important recording method for biologists and their precursors. Throughout the series, Sprig always knows what creatures they meet are, and continuing to go on adventures he's probably looking for new species to identify and record in his bestiary. This means he has basically the same job in his world as Anne has in her world, which means their fates are still connected and I just think that's the cutest detail and should not be overlooked.
OMG I DIDNT REALIZE THAT IM GONNA CRY MORE.
🤯
I think Sasha and Anne fell into different friend groups because of their different interests and career paths they wanted to pursue but they always stayed friends and connected on occasion to solidify that which is actually kind of realistic in my opinion. Plus they will always have that bond from Amphibia!

My best friends have been near me since we were 3, but now, we are least try to see each other in person once a year, since we are all in college
“Only Marcy would trip on a rock in space” me: *raises my hand* I would

Even in the previous episode when Sprig read Leif’s letter to him, he still didn’t believe that he was worthy of forgiveness, because he had taken things too far and done terrible things. It's true, he did do terrible things. But which one is better? When the girls started repairing their friendship, a part of me was hoping that they'd try to make other friends, too. I think a part of what made their relationship so toxic at first was their dependence on each other: Sasha was afraid to lose control, Marcy was afraid to lose her friends, and Anne was afraid to make her own decisions. Learning to let go of each other a bit was, I think, the best possible thing. Still cried a bit, though.

@@Arries_Leigh actually... it's only on Disney +
It is depressing VERY DEPRESSING.
The WILL leave??? Sometimes they don't. Sometimes you get old and die together.
But childhood besties could still remain besties, even if they AREN'T that close anymore (in a physical sense.)
Right?
God, Anna's farewell to the Planters keeps making me cry, I'll never get over it. How Polly became a little sister to her, how Hop Pop ended up incorporating her into the family and wanting her as a member of it... and then there is Sprig, who gives us the example of a beautiful friendship and despite the distances he and Anna They will always have the memory of their adventures and the emotions they shared together.

Speaking of planned
The whole 3-5 minute scene where the Frobots and the girls are pushing back at the "moon" is a direct reference to a scene in the Gundam Movie , Chars Counterattack, where both sides cease fighting and all the piloted enemy robots fly past the other side, who look confused, then ram into the falling meteorite, ending up alongside the main protagonist.
Shotwise it takes MANY key moments from that scene, Marcy basically standing in for the confused soldiers the mechs fly past for example

I would personally find that a bit comforting, seeing as i would actually know how much time i had and would be able to figure out what to do with it, since a lot of people die before they achieve their big dream or goal or something
Funny math, I think it’s 91 not 92
I am so happy that the show took their lives after amphibia so realistically.
I actually think it’s our Anne but her soul was transfered into a copy of her body

Sasha: So have you heard what Anne's been up to these days?
Marcy: Yes, aand I LOVE IT!
The scene cut to an overview of the Aquarium on the Pacific. We find out Anne works for the Aquarium, and we find her teaching a group of school kids.
Anne: This energetic fella is a Pink South American Tree Frog
Children in unison: So cool!!!
Cause the things you let go, you'd be surprised what makes its way back to you." [ Anne turns around ]
Anne notices Marcy and Sasha are there at the entrance to the frog exhibit, Marcy waves hello. Anne's eyes are mesmerized by Sasha as Sasha gazed back so intently into Anne's eyes in return.
Sasha: Hey Babe ! [ Sasha waves at Anne ]
Anne's eyes water up slightly with overwhelming joy as she blushes ever so subtly. THE END
Wow that took long didn't it
@MilkyKitties Edits&Animations What did you think? Where you able to pick up on the subtle hints before the reveal at the end?
Did you just write a whole ass sashanne fanfic here?? Respect👊✨
30:46 Her reaction to Bessie the snail and Joe Sparrow getting together is the funniest part of the video for me
After about 3 years, the journey has come to an end. Farewell Amphibia (2019-2022) and thank you for the remarkable journey.
We laughed. We cried. But each good story has to end on its best moment.
And Amphibia did it.
maybe it's wrong for me to hope that this is not a farewell because of the message from matt
Sasha: *is bi*
Elijah: *almost overloads the mic*
Same
The way I see it, this is essentially Anne with one crucial difference: she didn't die. That's the point of divergence. Other than that, she's a perfect copy: her likes, dislikes, life experiences, etc. Like copying a computer file.
Thank you for clearing this up. You just made my day😊
Yeah, the only visual difference is that annes missing shoe is on the other foot
It’s more like her body was broken but her soul survived and was given a new body.
@@cometcartoons8528 agree
No she died. If you make a copy of an original, the clone/copy has it's similarities but it's not the original. It will have the same qualities, memories, etc, but yes, Anne did officially die.
Matt Braly said "just because you are the main character, doesn't mean you are immune to death" 🤣
Matt literally said to Anne “If you die. Walk it off.”
Anne: **turns into heartstopper leaves**
Elijah: **crying over funny frog show**
funny frog show 🕴️
FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT LOOKED LIKE HEARTSTOPPER LEAVES 😭
“I would love to see grown Polly!”
10 seconds later:
You: it’s grown Polly!
Ann: You have to be able to let things go
Also Ann: Literally chose nostalgia for Amphibia as her whole life's work
That doesn't mean you have to let your memories go, you hold on to them and that's what helps you in the future. The message is pretty clear and beautiful, because you keep walking through the experiences you had, and that's what make you who you are in the present and remembering your loved ones is what will guide you in the future.
Perfect.
I mean , she doesn’t have to forget it all ever happened and not hold on to the memories :/
Now we have 10 confirmed gays in this show:

Also Jenny, if you're counting the trans characters (Jenny is non-binary, uses they/them)
I look at Anne’s “copy” this way. The Guardian created an exact copy of Anne’s body, and when Anne died, her soul was transferred by the Guardian into the new body. So just as the Guardian said, “For all intents and purposes, you the same Anne Boonchuy”.
I see it the same way, but there's enough evidence to support both the "replaced by clone" and the "reincarnated into clone" theories
I will never forget this show
"We have Gay Newts!!!! Gay Newts Confirmed" is not a line I ever thought I would hear but I'm glad I did.
That and a 3rd snird were not on any of my bingo cards.
Finally after all this time we can say “in The Hardest Thing Sasha is revealed to be attracted to women”
Neve thought that would come back after "Commander Anne"
For a moment I misread that as “the hardest thing is when you are revealed to be attracted to women” 😂
@@lordlapizul Omigosh, that's hilarious 😂

I'm just glad Marcy got some sweet revenge against the Core after what it did to her.
Also, Marcy's two newt moms are officially canon! Whooo-hoooo!!!!!!!
amazing finale
but can we talk about how the deity indicates Anne is gonna live to be 91
I also love how Andrias gets Barrel's Warhammer and uses it to help him walk, its a memory of his old friend...it feels fitting for him to have it in the end
No matter how many times I rewatch Amphibia the show still hit me in the feels.
I will never emotionally recover from this .
1) Your reaction to bi Sasha was exactly what I expected lol
2) "Olivia and Yunan are fcking together" that was an incredibly unintentional yet hilarious choice of words
3) I've been using literally every spare second of my week making amphibian fanart pls where has my life gone
4) Yes we still got the owl house. the two episodes until the season is over. And then the compressed 3rd season yay disney uh
5) if I had a coin for every time I cried watching the finale I'd be a millionaire by now
6) Marcy wrote heartstopper it is canon in my head. so like a headcannon. but I'm too sure.
7) "well this will definitely cause some existential dread later on" well girl, this whole episode is causing us existential dread so suck it up /jk
8) the gays have been fed

So, all that stuff Anne said when she was tripping after the dentist, about Domino being an infinite being beyond all time and space, is true!
OMG
This show's finally hit soo hard too... it brought me back memories of when I watched Markiplier playing "One Shot"... the end still makes me cry when I think about it...
When Anne died, at the exact moment right before death, an exact copy was made of her. This means right when her original body died, she awoke in the deity's realm. The Deity says that she is the same Anne Boonchuy, because she is. Its an exact copy, meaning it is like a soul transfer to a new body that isn't going to die in a millisecond. This is also how she can be sent back, because if her body died and she was sent back to it, she would still be dead.
You can even add to your headcannon that the leaves floating away was her soul and that it went straight into new Anne.
this is just an example of the swampman thought experiment
I assumed that until I saw everyone thinking the opposite and dropped the idea.
“How’s her back? Does anyone want to know how her back is going?”
I’m more interested with Marcy and the enormous scar that goes down both her front and back lmao
Edit: Also, in regards to the end part you were upset about with them not being as close in high school…I think that it’s a major testament to their friendship that they’ve still stayed consistently close and in contact their entire lives since then, even if they weren’t attached at the hip.
RIGHT
Okay Doctor D. 🤣
Funny thing , when SU officially ended , I didn’t think I’d move on , then eventually, Amphibia came into my life and changed everything.
*AND NOW I’M FEELING THE SAME FEELING AGAIN*
This episode actually made me full on cry. Like eyes bawling out cry
It's been a real wild ride and it's not gonna be easy accepting Amphibia being over (I'm certainly coping), but as Anne said:
_"It can be the hardest thing to realize you can't hold on to something forever. Sometimes, you have to let it go; but, of the things you let go, you'd be surprised what makes its way back to you."_
I love this show, and I can't wait to see your final Amphibia reaction. :)
Yeah. The entire last season was a bit of a mixed bag, but to me, this ending is up there with Avatar and She-Ra in terms of satisfaction
@@HaydrogenBomb Question: Should I wach She Ra. I havent seen it and was looking for something to wach.
@@aliamvickersfan2388 Definitely.
Sasha: "Me and Anne sorta stopped talking in high school when we got into New friend groups. "
Elijah: ☹
My Amphibia Analysis
1.) There are 3 sets of characters who fit the colors of the gems along with their personalities.
Anne in Season 3 Finale, The Hardest Thing, S3 EP 18
Sasha in Season 1 Finale, Reunion, S1 EP 20
Marcy in Season 2 Finale, True Colors, S2 EP 20
Sasha had her attempted self sacrifice in Season 1
Marcy had her unintentional self sacrifice in Season 2
Anne had her intentional and accepted self sacrifice in Season 3
She’s gonna laugh and cry a lot, but her her reaction to both Olivia and Yunan AND Bi Sasha will be amazing, I guarantee it.
YASSS💗!!!
i am waiting strictly for that especially sasha being bi
😏 Oh she gonna love it
Actually, Matt confirmed that the time Skip at Amphibia was about 9 months. The 10 year-jump only happens in the next scene 😅
The Plantars and Anne are separated forever, but will grow up to be better people and frogs, not allowing an open ending where "maybe they can come back someday"
It hurts? Yeah, but they are happy in the end, even if that hurts. And I prefer that kind of ending: Not a downer, neither a glittery happily ever after. A correct balance.
@@calipurnioelreydelodio7141 Yeah , I loved SVTFOE , but after season four and THE GARBAGE FINALE , It might just be an okay show for me.
I love the comedic pause around 30:46
*sees Bessie and Joe together*
Elijah *pauses, taking the fact in slowly*
*plays again only to find that the two have a snird*
Elijah: *pauses and loses her mind*
I’m still in denial that amphibia is ending, thank you Elijah for making this series extra special by reacting!!!
Yes
Maybe Anne will be ready by the time she's it 90 something
40:17 The exhibit is called get lost in Amphibia
30:04 They have legs, were younger than Polly, and she was definitely a baby for years
The final message was bittersweet for me too, but having reflected on it with a cool head and seeing reactions, I think it was both a humanly realistic and emotionally satisfying way to end the show.
Actually, the three of them becoming more distant from each other with age was one of my favorite things. That just happens sometimes.
Not to people who save the world together. Was really shoehorned in there for very little reason.
@@gaybatgosqueak How is it a strong bond if it too weak to endure high school?
@@thedragondread9587 I highly doubt he had it planned from the very beginning, there would have been actual build up to it. For the girls to be friends, turn to enemies, reconcile and claim to have a strong bond, only for that bond to wane to a mere Facebook IM every couple of months off screen is very shoe horned in. Elijah and many fans weren't too happy and Matt having to jump on Twitter for damage control to explain it doesn't help. It was completely unnecessary and adds nothing to the story.
Elijah: "How do you go from saving the universe and growing as people to barely talking in highschool?"
Me a comicbook fan: I mean it is friday, it was bound to happen.
Something I noticed on a rewatch was the house in space she arrives at after death was a picture on her wall in her room!
Since Sprig has Anne's old phone and if anne keeps her account that means that Anna and Sprig can text each other
I love how they sneaked in the bisexuality-heart sticker by putting it on the mirror of Sasha's car. They confirmed the theories, but not in a direct way which is refreshing to see :)
ik ! Matt also confirmed it on Twitter 😭❤️
What an ending to what’s probably Disney Channel’s best show in years.
And thanks again for those hilarious reaction videos, Elijah!
I think that the fact that they made Anne and Sasha fall into different friend groups in high school was a good decision though, it amplifies the show’s lesson ,,Things aren’t always going to be the same’’
10:21 Well, in this episode Marcy achieved the impossible, she tripped in space 🦶🪨🌌
