Bill should’ve gotten at least a 4/5 in character design. He’s VERY recognizable, has a triangular appearance like the all-seeing Illuminati which is extremely fitting, can shape shift in different forms to convey different emotions, and is generally mysterious from the moment you first see him. He’s literally an icon from start to finish
He was pretty much everywhere in the show if you look at things like some of the windows in the mystery shack, or the portal in its basement. They were clearly made to resemble him in some way.
The saddest part about Belos is that in Gravesfield he is still basically considerd a fairy tale hero meaning that without even knowing he basically already had everything he wanted to a degree but because he never botherd to find out he ended upp dying in the place he hated and by a fellow human after rolling a 0 on his charisma. The only saving grace for him is that the rest of humanity will never know that he turned himself into a monster that is basically everything his brother and to some extent himself hated.
@@breaderikthegreat3224don’t forget that when bill leaves his body it turns into a statue so that means that he’s still out there. Outside his body though
@@rockstar6783-c4jpeople are saying its the bird because after his death the bird basically went to most places resembling bill (statue, triangular window) stuff like that
Belos is a far bigger threat to humanity then the witches: the human realm he grew up in is very different than the modern one. He would probably hate it and become obsessed with changing it back to how it was in his day, probably through extreme violence and a hostile takeover.

Personally i like Belos human design exactly due to how ordinary it is. The interesting part about Belos is that while he is now a monster, he was initially just an human. Giving him an ordinary look works because it rapresent how he is not some kind of cartoony villain or a monstrous demon that's born that way. He is just a regular person like many, anyone could have been Belos. That also give him an element of realism. Obviously his power and actions are not realistic in the slightes, but his motivations and mindset are pretty realistic and it's not impossible that a real evil person in a similar situation could make the same things, so having him look like a regual human help giving the impression that he is really anyone special, anyone could be Belos.
@@Layer-v5h He is dead as long as his last spell hasn't gone into effect yet. He's not the first dead thing in fiction to set up a way to come back, that doesn't mean they aren't dead in the mean time.
Its not even surprising here. Andrias is a redeemable villain compared to the other two. He felt betrayed by his friends and went rogue. When the truth comes out on why in her written letter he then comes back and becomes better. Probably felt guilty as much in the finale with the interaction with Marcy’s farewell
@@damainortiztechnically yes job wise but emperors have to be ruling over an empire(a nation that consists of multiple other states and or republics ruled by one person) to be called an emperor
I think Bill Cipher is the character that more apears, he apears at the intro in EVERY SINGLE EPISODE and the show is full of triangles with one eye. THAT'S foreshadowing.
I like how real of a villain Belos is what makes him strong. His beliefs are bigoted, he hides them in order to manipulate the public. Something very true to real life, both in the past and present. Another thing that feels real is how he abuses and manipulates Hunter. Belos doesn’t constantly hit Hunter all the time, he knows when to dial it back and be “nice” to him. Which makes Hunter trust him and want his approval
I mostly agree with this video's points. But in ''effects on the protagonist'' part for Andrias' entry, you forgot to mention one thing. Anne's terror over telling her parents that she indirectly helped an interdimensional tyrant get an opportunity to invade the entire multiverse, and the fact that a mercenary robot is literally trying to kill her... And that revelation goes HARD! All the things Anne's family believed about her, their thoughts on how mature she's become, all that crashing down just because of this. The entire first part of season 3A hinges at that and the ''finale'' for this arc is amazing. Anne-sterminator is genuinely a phenomenal episode.
These were truly the best villains to come out of Disney in the last decade. I will never forget The Floating Dorito Shaped Outer God, The Cybernetic Battle Newt, and Hitler for Witches.
What I like about Bill the most is that his powers do seem incredibly limited and so endless at the same time as without a physical form it requires him to make deals Even in his physical form he can't read minds unless you willingly let him, what is great too is the fact that according to the Simpsons he was Jesus, the Monkey King, and Loki meaning he manipulated 2 entirely different groups of people to indirectly worship him
Nah bill can read minds whenever he wants he already knew what Mabel was thinking when he first met and predicted the future for dipper I think it’s just some inconsistency or the fact of how cocky bill was

I like how bill seems like another one monster at first, like in every episode, then you see him again and your like “oh him again?” And he keeps coming back
Belos killed his own brother, used charisma and intelligence alone to take over an entire island's political world, cementing himself as the emperor that no one questions for 50 years while simultaneously poisoning the memory of the days before his reign until everyone unanimously knows it as the dark ages, manipulates a god into giving him real power, becomes the strongest witch in the boiling isles despite being human through intricate knowledge of glyphs that he developed against the will of the Titan who was actively hiding the knowledge from him, raised hundreds of clones to do his bidding while having a hold on everyone around him to the point they would do basically anything to serve him, very nearly succeeded in literal genocide before being undone by the aforementioned god, survived being smited, possessed the latest of the aforementioned clones, re-opened the portal to the demon realm, and possessed the entirety of the isles to "cleanse this perdition himself". I didn't even get into the things he didn't personally do. Indirectly, he has an entire coven that basically serves as his personal military that enforces his will, including enforcing restrictions on magic, arresting anyone who protests or goes against the system (including children) or even strays from social norms, endangering a species of wood known to create sentient beings, hunting down peaceful creatures for plans they don't know the details of, practically holding a school hostage so they can manipulate them into taking sigils against their wills. They do this without question to his motives. He has Hunter hunt down stray palismen so he can consume them, literally sends him on missions collecting the very resources that will create his replacement, which include killing innocent creatures. He has an interest in defacing an ancient graveyard for the Galdorstones so he can make more grimwalkers (presumably with magic). Like, these things hardly scratch the surface of what he does. Hell, what the show gives us likely doesn't even get to the truly vile things he did to get to where he was concluding S2. Personally, I would count the actions of those following his orders as his own actions, and through all of that, he gets a 2/5???? I feel like completely reshaping a world in your image while indoctrinating an entire species to work towards their own extinction constitutes more than a 2/5, and given how little Andreas did in comparison and getting a 4/5 is just downright insulting.
ehhh, he did say it was probably biased, but then like, say it right away, and not at the end of the video? i feel like this vid is underinformed, as well as subtle engagement bait. he does glancingly say that it's his own made up criteria, which he judges himself, but that's it. i've long learned to discern red flags in videos like these, so without even knowing any of the villains listed, i knew it was gonna be biased.
I want to say that the most terrifying part of Belos is not his powers. Its his charisma. His ability to get people to join his cause while thinking that what they are doing is in the right. to genuinely convince his followers that they are on the side of good. While yes there were some people who saw his evil intentions but just did not care and followed him anyways. Belos was good enough with twisting his words to his benefit that he even got Luz to willingly help him with his plans and mentally screwing with her. Luz eventually saw through the façade, but it was too late. Belos already got what he needed out of her. He done so much damage to countless lives with words alone.
Istg the last three intros of Gravity falls gave me chills 😭🤚 Especially Bills laughter and the "Created by Bill Cipher" instead of "Created by Alex Hirsch"
Personally, I'd like to ad some of my own ratings for Belos and Bill While I won't change the rating, I give more credit to his face reveal. When we are first introduced to him without it, I instantly felt a "yes he's evil but he really cares for his nephew" vibe, leading into that role of deception to not just Hunter but even me. His personality, while evil and plainly obvious, shows a lot of character and emotion through out, not to mention how easily believable he can change his personality whether it'd be for that of manipulation or geniune emotion, so for personality alone 4/5 - 5/5 Motive brings it down a bit, for me, to 3/5 but beliefs are really great. While he is indeed evil, you do understand how he got towhere he was, not to mention his love-hate relationship with his brother and his refusing to change for the better just makes him so much more to fun to despise, so, again, 4/5 - 5/5 (I know I say 4/5-5/5 but I really can't decide where to put them) Personally, i'd put him at 4/5 here Actions, i'd say, deserve much higher, to 4/5 We, as the audience, really do know of what he's done and his cruelty for mental destruction is just straight evil. He literally kills his brother (to him at least) over and over and over again, likely out of both love and hate, yet even then he still see's them as just tools. He literally manipulated Hunter into getting the titan's blood in such a genius way it felt like something out of Death Note. All of that and more and putting him at 2/5 feels like an insult, atleast to me. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Again, not changing the rating, but when you think about it, Bill is a very unique villain. While seemingly at first a 1 dimensional villain, even when taking away his past he's very different from most villains; he's a main villain who's actions are far more bizarre than possibly any villain in media, especially in a morbid sense, which really ads to the surpisingly fun comedic side he has. His motive is also quite unique. Instead of a a revenge quest of sorts or to be satisfied with his goals into fruition or just winning a generic sense of just being evil, he literally just start Armeggedon just to party. That is quite comedic to think about in it's own rights when ignoring his past, which also builds on his comedic adn extroverted personality The fact that even without his sense of forshadowing or knoweledge of what he originally wants he still stays not only unique but fun is qute impressive. That said, the details we're given just add a whole new dimension to it. Heh, dimension. Bill's apearance bumps up to 4/5 for me. While it is indeed basic, it does still lead to a lot of creativity. Personally, though, his more nightmarish form in the finale is really great and disturbing, which is why i'm a bit disapointed it wasn't His simple design leads to it being really easy to remember and iconic, to the point where if anyone who knows who he is and see's a triangle with an eye in it we instantly think Bill. (Fun fact, in GF lore HE inspired the Eye of Provenence through-out history so that really ads a lore to the fun design) Presence, for me, bumps up to 4/5 at least. Even if we get rid of the zodiac in the op and just see as Bill as a sort of side antagonist alone, we still do see signs of him through the entire show from the beginning, which would only solidfy why I think, even if he was a side character, he'd still be a favorite to many. Not to mention being presented in other shows/media while still adding lore, connecting so many series together, could potentially bumb it up a point. d p d p d p d p d p d p d p d p d p d p d p d p d p d p d p d p d p d p d p d p d p d p d p d p d p d p d p d p Overall, they both bump up to the 30s, Belos right on 30 with Bill being 31. I'm not biased with the ratings but out of all the Disney media, with movies and shows, they are both my favorite antagonists of Disney. One being a complete monster, both mentally and physically, who's INCREDIBLY fleshed out, the other who's sense of mystery rivals his iconism and comedy. All three are equal in their own rights but I see Andrias as more of the sort of side villain or the other half of the side due to the Core being presented as well. I just like Bill and Belos so much not only their histories and motives but also just how so much character oozes out of them, one of them quite literally, practically giving off a physical presence of emotions. Not to mention, when it comes to them both, Belos still has a past i'd like to explore, since it still has a mystery to it, like his very early life and evolution when growing up in Gravesfield, and Bill literally cannot escape medias and entertainment: from having being presented in other shows to the creator of the show practically personifying Bill to even his "affect" in the real world (in the sense of how we practically draw imagery of him not just online but also as graffiti and urban art, to his supposed lore he's connected to, to his corpse that started a world-wide hunt for him while also technically meaning that the events are supposed to be seen as a sort of ironic "based on a true story" vibe). It's those extra additions that really solidify my love for both these characters. I love Belos as a character not just because he's a villain but because he feels like a real person manipulated to believing in what he believes and how dickish and petty he is, alot like a Disney DIO, sort of. I love Bill not just because he's funny but because he also has a completely hidden surface to him until shown to us, as well as his overwhelming mystery that stays with you for years on end. Basically, these are why I personally wanted to add up some points. Maybe it's bias but it's because of those reasons.
Wow Bro you could of made a better video essay on this then me. I fully agree with pretty much everything you said. I probably should of talked more about Belos face reveal because as you said it is used very effectively against hunter. I just wanted to save time and was kind of being lazy. But wow thanks for taking the time to type this all up it was a interesting read.
I think bill’s character Design deserves a five out of five because every time I look at the tree and it has a circle in it I immediately think of bill because of how he watched in the birch trees
I agree I think I was a little to harsh on bills design. it really stands out and is recognizable. but I put it low because I thought I was being to biased towards bill because I obviously wanted him to win.
Personally I feel like manipulating others to carry out evil acts in your name is even worse than just doing it yourself. I would attribute all the worst things that characters like Lilith and Hunter did directly to Belos. Also, killing Flapjack was even worse than you made it out to be. Belos didn't just do it, he used Hunter's own hands to kill his first and best friend. I would have given Belos a slight edge over Bill as a villain. Finally, of course Bill reincarnated. He woke up after hatching from an egg in the demon realm and is slowly coming back into his enormous powers!
@@Matiasmartinez-bo9cvas far as we know Evelyn wasn’t trapped in flapjack, flapjack was carrying out his last mission as Evelyn’s palisman to get revenge against Belos
I think there is a little bias but I would agree on the order. Belos had an even more profound affect on Luz as she thought Philip would be the one to save her, without knowing he would wound up as Emperor Belos.
I’d argue that Andreas isn’t the villain of Amphibia, and that the core is the true villain because the core manipulated Andreas into doing stuff he didn’t truly want to do, and eventually he stood up for himself, and did the right thing, and found redemption, while the core was destroyed for its evil
Eh, I'd say there is a difference between the main antagonist and the main villain. A character can be both, but there is typically only really one main antagonist (for example, jack Horner and Death are both antagonists, but Horner is the main villain, and Death is the main antagonist). I think the same principle applies with Amphibia, as the core serves as the main villain and Andrias serves as the main antagonist, based on how each character affects the main cast and how they themselves develop through the show.
Andreas is like darth Vader and the core is palpatine (pretty fitting comparison). One was a merciless tyrant that got redeemed, the other an unforgivable force of evil
Well in every episode in gravity falls, we see bill was always watching. He can see through the eye shapes on the tree for example, he was seen had a card and even on a stick of lipstick but most importantly he was everywhere in the shack, like the window in the attic, the A on the mystery shack, and a rug in the gift shop which means Bill was always watching since episode one
When you think about it, Bill actually connected the pines family together on PURPOSE. it my sound weird, but when you add in the factor of him making fun out of anything, I think he expected it to be more satisfying to kill a bunch of idiots who believe in the power of friendship instead of smooshing a bunch of ungrateful ones. Sadly, he royally screwed up, forgetting his power of altering time
2:39 His new form isn't draining his powers. He was so weak because he was smacked against wall and turned into a blob by Collector, and then had to use Hunter to recover at least partly. If Collector wouldn't fully destroy Belos then Belos would be able to outlast Luz and her friends even multiple times
That and the fact that Belos hasn't been able to get his grubby hands on any Palismen, heck even with the Palismen his physical form was still unstable.
One thing I love about belos's masked and final design is the mythological inspiration. The golden stag and wendigo (both physically traditional and modern) inspiration is so well integrated that you get a "holy royal" and almost demonic look to the respective forms.
24:03 not just the end of the opening theme song, hints about him also appear in nearly every scene of every episode. Whenever there are knots on trees that are shaped like eyes, it is implied that he is watching, nearly every room in the mystery shack has some sort of triangle shaped object, carpet, or window, and there are many other hints that he is always watching from the shadows.
@@HenriqueLSilvaI never could get into watching centaur world, but the actually story behind all the kid friendly adventures is incredible, sad, and terrifying at the same time.
The axolotle says “a different form a different time” people say as a theory he is stan but i can prove it as a fact after saying the the words to reincarnation he says “STANLEYYYY” the name of who he is going to reincarnate into and if its true he does regret destroying his demension then that explains why stanley agreed to kill him
What grunkle Stan says in the last episode really does bring a lot to light, he reminds everyone that everything that happened was because of ford and his portal, and if you rewatch most of bills actions were thanks to characters being fooled or coerced into doing something either intentionally or unintentionally, dippers body swap, Mable’s release of the rift, Gideon summoning bill, ford unconditionally trusting bill despite multiple red flags, all of it with unintentional consequences. I think that’s what makes him a great villain, he doesn’t need much presence because whenever he’s there you know someone’s going to suffer for it, the one time he tried his hand to be a normal villain, which was to take the kids hostage, he gave everyone a common enemy and was beaten for it. Bill thrives as a background threat and even moreso a calculating forward one, but as a straightforward evil man he fails because that isn’t his style, I think that’s what really makes him unique and more dangerous than all h the other villains, he isn’t doing it because of a goal or unfulfilled wish, he’s doing it because he can
I feel bill is easily the best here as gravity falls and bill himself completely reformed cartoons as a whole basically being the reason the other two shows even exist, bill doesnt need to be big or imposing or look mysterious or whatever to still get his way because hes a master manipulator and obviously is more powerful. He also takes the least time to enact and almost win as opposed to the others he takes like maybe a month? Two if you want to be generous and thats with constant roadblocks popping up. Even then he still isnt technically stopped only halted. The book of bill shows hes still alive and still trying to win and very well could get a second chance
i love how bill shifts between forms while he was erased. in my opinion he was trying to find a form that could withstand this, something that could keep him alive, but he failed and resorted to begging the axolotl
The coolest thing about Bill is that even if he isn't in many episodes, he's always present. The show set up the world in a way that makes it EXPLICITLY obvious that the trees and dark forces are always watching, and you always feel the pressence of weirdness everywhere you go.
For Effects on the protagonists you could also say for Bill that he tortures Dipper Looking at "The Last Mabelcorn" I'm pretty sure Dipper has PTSD (And that was before Weirdmageddon)
for me, where Bill is iconic and powerful, Belos feels more impactful as the vastly overarching villain. he's a cult leader and serial killer which makes him vastly more grounded than Andrias or Bill.
I’d say bill has a much larger more direct presence than any other villain because bill is associated with the shape of a triangle or an eye both of which are everywhere in gravity falls the portal is a good example not to mention it’s even confirmed at bill watches from within birch trees according to the axolotl not to mention bills effects on mcguckets mind are on clear display any time we see him all I’m saying is the presence of bill and what has done to people is felt always in gravity falls much more than even belos at times
Belos is best and darkest villain, i'd say! My abseloute favourite Disney Channel baddie! He's just so freakin Awesome! From his physical appearance to his personality. His background story is so damn intriguing as well, not to mention his evil plans....
I would say even more. Belos is the scariest cartoon Villain at all the history. Well, actually the 4th since we got Him from oryiginal Powepuff Girls, The Lich from AT, and Nowhere King from Centaur World. But since, he's the only human out of those, makes him even more scary, for becaouse if we look more at him, we would see that Belos represents all the evil of humanity itself. Witch makes sense, for everyone can be somebody like Belos, since we're all the humans with a dark souls inside.
Belos is basically the Dark Souls boss that you fight at the very end of the game after hearing everything about his kingdom and deeds. Like the whole Grimewalker thing screams Dark Souls
You know that Disney cartoons like Gravity Falls, Amphibia, Owl House, Ducktales reboot, Wander Over Yonder, Star vs The Forces of Evil etc... do something that modern Disney movies fail at ? By giving us actual villains
There were some theories in Season 1 saying that Bill was King. While there is some reasoning, King acts dominant but also helpful and loyal to those around him.
The letter Leif wrote to Andrias tells me that they were more than just friends I think they loved each other Andrias blushes and looked away during Leifs dance, the secret messages to each other, Andrias the frist to rush to Leif after she fell to her hands and knees after the vission, the worried look on his face, Leif crying into Andrias, Andrias the one that took her betrayl the hardest and his blushing tears in his eyes and scraming her name when she left, and Leif dubbing her self as "your Leif" and her calling him my derest Andrias and saying I wish my love will reach you. Also in the painting Andrias and Leif are looking at eachother and there is a art that Matt Braly did Andrias Berral and Leif are back together and they are on his sholders and Andrias and Leif are looking at eachother. There was and still is something more than just friendship between Andrias and Leif.
Before watching I already know Bills the best villain. He doesn’t manifest “often” in the show as he only appears in 7 episodes out of the 40 total but when he does it’s insane how batshit insane he is and how funny he is as well, and he’s extremely well written along with VERY memorable.
Bro, Bill was so powerful that he made an episode so long that it was split into multiple episodes, changed the INTRO (something they don't even know about), freaking opened a portal between not only 2 universes - but a 3D universe AND A 2D universe, is able to see 3D beings even though nobody sees anyone of higher dimensions than themself, floats, shapeshifts to any degree, is able to say "IVE GOT CHILDREN TO TURN INTO CORPSES" when the literal love god cant even have the trans symbol, speaks backwards even when literally dying, slows down time just by being summoned alone, steals and controls people's bodies by ejecting their souls out of them, makes an entire gravity-defying pyramid palace, gets a statue in real life, and is made the first thing most people think about when gravity falls is mentioned. Try me, I have even more I forgot to write probably.
Belos is like Wallace Breen from half-life 2. Even though he is only seen for a short time, his presence is felt throughout the whole series. Also they live in a huge tower, have masked guards and are basically a right wing force
5:56 back when gravity falls first aired my parents were really into conspiracies and me and my dad sat down watched it and saw bill (which we thought was the illuminati at the time) at the end of the intro just for a split second tho. This freaked us out and my dad told me to stop watching the show, which made me watch it even more. the point im making is even at the very beginning of the show bill ws referenced and im sure i wasnt the only one who was curious as to why at the end of every intro he appeared.
I kind of agree with you that the core should be here. he is definitely more of a final boss character. but I did a poll on what villains people wanted to see and the core lost to Andria's. But it was probably for the best I think Andrias is a more interesting character
@@bearwithme5669I think that the best way to refer to the Core is Them. Not because it's nonbinary, but because it's literally A HUGE COLLECTION OF GENIUSES AND LEADERS. It also reminds me of B.R.A.I.N. from 9
It's not really fair for Andreias. He is not the main villain, and we do see the core appear in the opening or ending (I don't remember) of each episode
I think that disney should and could make a crossover series with all three of these shows where anne and her friends, dipper and mabel, and luz and her friends all come together and fight a new bad guy that is somehow connected to all of them and all of the main bad guys in all of their storys. I can't be the only one wanting this to happen, can I?
My ranking is 3:King Andrias 2:Bill Cipher 1:Emperor Belos because I love when stories have repercussions and when Bill "died" and Stanley got his memory back It made me so mad like if Stan didn't get his memories back, Bill might be equal if not better than Belos cause he's so strong and yet they still beat him that would have been so perfect in my opinion.
@@ciaranbeard5769 Still, a show shouldn’t have us do homework if we want to enjoy it to the full extent. I mean, if you like doing that then go ahead, no one’s stopping you, it’s just that, for me, I’d prefer to just binge watch a show without stopping to go check out a book, but that’s just me
@@cathria. WIthout referring to other material at all, the info in the show itself tells us that it took a week to recover Stan's memories. Weirdmageddon started one week before August 31st. During Weirdmageddon, time stopped. No matter how many days seemed to pass to the people experiencing it (we know at least 4-5 days passed within it, possibly more depending on how long it took to build the Shack-tron), when Bill was defeated, everything snapped back into place. Everyone was back on the same date it started on (they hadn't missed any time in the real world, and thus the real world was never aware of what had happened). We know this because we're shown a montage of things that happen between the end of Weirdmageddon, and Dipper and Mabel's birthday party -- the town is repaired, the Shack is fully repaired (when it's a complete wreck), Old Man McGucket buys the Northwest Mansion, and so on. None of that stuff happened overnight, even considering "cartoon physics". While Stan began the process of regaining his memories in the scene with the scrapbook, during the newscast, Shandra Jimenez says that he has "finally regained his memories". Of ccourse, in the episode itself, this goes by *extremely* quickly. So it absolutely makes sense to criticize the pacing of the episode and how quickly the "I said get Waddles off me!" reveal happens. Even though they got Disney to give them a double-episode's worth of time for the conclusion, there was still too much they wanted to fit into it, and some things do feel rushed. I think they did a remarkably good job, given the constraints they had... but hindsight is 20/20, and we can look at the episode and come up with ways to utilize the same amount of time, but make it clearer that it took longer than a few minutes for Stan to start to recover his memories. I also think they could have put the reveal after that newscast montage about what happened in the town after Weirdmageddon. Since we were going to skip over that time period anyway, we wouldn't have had to watch all the other characters just be super distressed and sad about Stan. But an indication that they'd spent almost a week thinking they couldn't get him "back", before he has that breakthrough remembering Waddles, might have made it feel a bit more earned. Still, my point here is that the clues to why Stan could get his memories back, and how long it took, are right there in the show. No consulting other sources needed.
@@gryphonvert Yes, I agree with what you’re saying, I only meant to respond to someone who thought that since it was more explained in the book then it was fine. I dislike it when a show expects us to know something only written in their books in order to get the full enjoyment, and for someone to just basically say “Hey, it’s in the books, so it’s fine that’s it not explained completely in the show,” kind of rubs me the wrong way. I mean, depending on how much the show depends on the watcher knowing what happens in the books is always a factor for how frustrating it is, like in this situation. But, that’s all I really meant to say, I also thought that the episode was still incredibly enjoyable even if the memory part felt a bit rushed, I’m a sucker for happy endings for everyone. I just don’t agree when people think/say that, again, since it’s in the books everything is fine, it just rubs me the wrong way for some reason, but that was all I meant to say, and I apologize if what I said rubbed you the wrong way, I didn’t intend for it to go that way, so I’m sorry :(
bill also has a minor appearance of being depicted in some way in every episode of gravity falls, be it on a poster, or even his name appearing on the cash register of the mystery shack
I think bill should have gotten 5/5 for evil deeds cause he destroyed an entire dimension along with everyone he ever knew that’s definitely more than anything Andria’s or belos did 🤭✨💅
My opinion: Andrias: Keith David delivers a fantastic performance, I mean, when doesn’t he? Andrias is a tragic and complex character who just wanted the love and respect from his father no matter how much suffering he had to cause on to himself and to others. And you can definitely see some of that inhumane behaviour his father had start to rub on to him in a certain scenes. And I admit, I liked his redemption arc with him learning to let go of his father’s control to help Amphibia. Bill: I love Bill, I think he is funny and a chaotic villain. Like the literal representation of pure chaos and malice. He doesn’t care who he hurts or who he kills. He has no reason to do this except it amuses him. Now while I do like villains who have a bit of a motivation, Bill is one of my favourites because he has no motivation. He just enjoys chaos and pain onto others because that’s what he lives for Belos: Honestly, Belos is my personal favourite villain. While Bill was built up throughout the show in the background like he was watching them, the buildup to Belos was done amazingly as well. Despite the fact we don’t see him until the two part finale of season 1, he still had a presence that I felt. That when we were introduced to him in the finale, his intro built up mystery, fear and intrigue. We didn’t know why he was sucking the essence out of the Palisman but we will. And in episode nineteen, we saw how powerful he was and how much of a struggle Luz had to beat him. Every scene with him in it is intense. He is manipulative, he is powerful, he is scary and compare that with Andrias or Bill he doesn’t do or say anything funny. Like, he doesn’t even crack a joke which is what I like since not every villain needs to be funny, you can make them just plain scary while adding attributes that make him intriguing. And the twist on what he actually was was amazing and helps us see that he may be a human but he is far from human in the end of the series but a monster that he swore to destroy. To me, Belos is one of Disney’s best villains. He is ruthless, intriguing and absolutely terrifying and Matthew Rhys is absolutely terrific in the part
Agree with everything, also yeah, I love Bill and really like Andreas, vut with all honest, Belos/Philipp is the best written and overall best villain. But all three are great.
I like how belos is perceived to be this huge sludge monster, when he is revealed to look like your dad or uncle with a kind face but a huge scar/disease. Later on in the series you see his true form. Meanwhile, I like bill for how he is built up throughout the series from the title screen, to the design of the portal, windows, carpets, etc until you see that he is a funny smart maniac. He does some stuff that is straight nightmare fuel but for the most part he’s a funny smart maniac. Also, I don’t wanna talk about amphibia cuz it’s too sad.
here is my opinion Character designs 1: Bill (4/5) it's simple yet perfect 2: Belos (3/5) A great villain look 3: Andrius (3/5) It worked very well despite being the least changed design. Personality 1: Bill (5/5) Bill is by far the most fun to watch 2: Andrius (4/5) It's entertaining, but not on Bills level 3: Belos (3/5) He is really cold and mercy-less which fits him but makes him more like a machine. Motive 1: Andrius (4/5) He had all the pressure from his dad and friends pulling from both sides 2: Belos (3/5) As you said he really doesn't have much 3: Bill (3/5) while it being super vague was cool I am not a fan of that it was never given a full answer. Powers 1: Bill (5/5) My dude could shuffle the functions of every hole in my face 2: Belos (4/5) even before possessing the Titan he had quite a bit up his arm 3: Andrius (3/5) He had quite the stash of tech. Presence 1: Belos (4/5) as Bear with me said 2: Bill (3/5) Not much to say here for me 3: Andrius. (3/5) He didn't get that good at feeling as if everything was him even though a lot of it was him. Actions 1: Andrius (5/5) My dude committed 3 attempted murders all in the span of 10 minutes tops and he still did more crap like blowing up Toad Tower just to show what he was capable of as well helping in the invasion of earth which would have turned in at least 3 more worlds invaded 2: Bill (4/5) Nearly made Stan loss the shack, possessed Dipper with the plans to make him jump off the water tower after destroying his book, and of course his throne of living human agony and Preston's face 3: Belos (3/5) as Bear with me said Belos is more the man behind it all who stays in the shadows and has someone else do the dirty work, although as far as we know he was behind his brothers death and plotted out the draining spell, and of course Flapjack. Effects on the protagonists 1: Belos (4/5) unlike the others he left Luz and Hunter in ruins instead of causing growth 2: Bill (3/5) As Bear with me said 3: Andrius. (3/5) As Bear with me said. Fate 1: Bill (5/5) It was pitch perfect in every way 2: Andrius (3/5) While flawed I am happy with it 3: Belos (2/5) I was really expecting more and it was just scraping past ok, adding a scene where Calab Evelyn Flapjack and all the Grim-walkers drag Belos into Hell for good would have made it much better, but as is it really needed some work. Final score Bill: 4 + 5 + 3 + 5 + 3 + 4 + 3 + 5 = 32/40 Andrius: 3 + 4 + 4 + 3 + 3 + 5 + 3 + 3 = 28/40 Belos: 3 + 3 + 3 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 2 = 27/40 I am so sorry for spelling and grammer errors and just know this is just my opinion if you disagree that's good
I would have put belos higher in actions then andrias because he did attempt to genocide an entire race, also the amount of grimwalkers he mercilessly slaughtered, the reseditants of the town he blew up, the witches who died after getting a prototype sigil, all the palisman he consumed (animal abuse) he was litteraly a tyrant, if he succeeded he would basicly be fantasy hitler Its also safe to assume that when he raised the tytans arm in the finale, several witches probably fell into the boiling sea and died like that...
Oh he did kill his best friend and they're wife (probably) Also gave hunter AND luz ptsd And also he's a biggot to top it off so i think he really did the worst out of everyone here, i mean bill did somehow destroy his original dimension but its unclear wether the other 2d beings were sentient
Belos’ actions include mass murder as Phillip, fraud and defamation of the titan and the owl lady, attempted murder, attempted genoside twice, manipulated of Luz causing her to help him find the collector, mass property damage, assault of 6 minors and more in crimes atleast and he still gives belos a 2.
Honestly i truly loved belos' outfit and was kinda sad when he took the mask off... The mysteriousness of his character and appearance added so much to him... And its weird how once he took of his mask once we basically never saw it again... After we saw his face the animators just abandoned the old outfit which im still kinda angry/sad about
My ratings for each: Design: Andrias/Belos Beliefs: Belos Powers: Bill Prescence: Bill/Belos Actions: Belos Effects on Protagonist: Andrias/Belos Conclusion: Andrias/Bill
I'd give Belos' design a 5/5, with the human form actually being the reason why. He's just that, a man. He represents the dangers of bigotry, misinformation, and refusing to sway on an ideal you're convinced of - truly corrosive when left unchecked as he falsely claims wild magic (and freedom of expression) to be. He's a masterful reflection of the hatred and fear we see so often in our own world, and being nothing more than one of our own reveals the true power of prejudice when combined with an unshaking will to enact it.
Im torn between my love for Bill and Belos as villains. Both were good and very well set up and their downfalls were incredible.I also dont think powers should be a factor on how good a villain is as much as how creative/fitting for the villain they are.(bill would still be a 5/5)
My absolute favorite of these villains, is Belos. I find Andrius a bit more henchmen rather than the main villain. And Bill, yes, he has a twisted sense of humor, but I still laugh. But Belos, he's just straight up intimidating. I literally had nightmares of him trying to k*ll me😱. He's a well written villain!!!
Honestly, if you did more of these videos, besides the two you could add in more shows like Phineas and Ferb, the second dimension, movie, and both of the DuckTales cartoons
I think Bill’s presence is even stronger considering how much of an icon he’s become despite the few episodes he was given
Bill should’ve gotten at least a 4/5 in character design.
He’s VERY recognizable, has a triangular appearance like the all-seeing Illuminati which is extremely fitting, can shape shift in different forms to convey different emotions, and is generally mysterious from the moment you first see him. He’s literally an icon from start to finish
5/5
Nice I was going to destroy you galaxy
Yeah but just cuz he's an Icon can't shoot you up to the top
He was pretty much everywhere in the show if you look at things like some of the windows in the mystery shack, or the portal in its basement. They were clearly made to resemble him in some way.
The saddest part about Belos is that in Gravesfield he is still basically considerd a fairy tale hero meaning that without even knowing he basically already had everything he wanted to a degree but because he never botherd to find out he ended upp dying in the place he hated and by a fellow human after rolling a 0 on his charisma. The only saving grace for him is that the rest of humanity will never know that he turned himself into a monster that is basically everything his brother and to some extent himself hated.
yeah belos would definitely get A LOT of hate if humanity found out what he did.

Andrias:

Belos:
Thinks he's protecting humans from evil, when he is evil

BRO YOU WATCH TOTAL DRAMA TOO or did you just find that profile pic online bcuz that is the henchmen of a really annoying person in the last season
100% agree. I defiantly should of included that. Man I love the dynamic between Anne and her parents. her parents are so wholesome

I feel like completely reshaping a world in your image while indoctrinating an entire species to work towards their own extinction constitutes more than a 2/5, and given how little Andreas did in comparison and getting a 4/5 is just downright insulting.
ehhh, he did say it was probably biased, but then like,

Bill is always so cheerful that it's scary
For example when he started singing "we'll meet again" I knew something bad was about to happen
He's lying that he's happy
turns out that he was never happy
Personally, I'd like to ad some of my own ratings for Belos and Bill
While I won't change the rating, I give more credit to his face reveal.
When we are first introduced to him without it, I instantly felt a "yes he's evil but he really cares for his nephew" vibe, leading into that role of deception to not just Hunter but even me.
His personality, while evil and plainly obvious, shows a lot of character and emotion through out, not to mention how easily believable he can change his personality whether it'd be for that of manipulation or geniune emotion, so for personality alone 4/5 - 5/5
Motive brings it down a bit, for me, to 3/5 but beliefs are really great. While he is indeed evil, you do understand how he got towhere he was, not to mention his love-hate relationship with his brother and his refusing to change for the better just makes him so much more to fun to despise, so, again, 4/5 - 5/5
(I know I say 4/5-5/5 but I really can't decide where to put them)
Personally, i'd put him at 4/5 here
Actions, i'd say, deserve much higher, to 4/5
We, as the audience, really do know of what he's done and his cruelty for mental destruction is just straight evil.

Again, not changing the rating, but when you think about it, Bill is a very unique villain.
That is quite comedic to think about in it's own rights when ignoring his past, which also builds on his comedic adn extroverted personality
The fact that even without his sense of forshadowing or knoweledge of what he originally wants he still stays not only unique but fun is qute impressive. That said, the details we're given just add a whole new dimension to it.
Heh, dimension.
Bill's apearance bumps up to 4/5 for me.
While it is indeed basic, it does still lead to a lot of creativity.
Personally, though, his more nightmarish form in the finale is really great and disturbing, which is why i'm a bit disapointed it wasn't
His simple design leads to it being really easy to remember and iconic, to the point where if anyone who knows who he is and see's a triangle with an eye in it we instantly think Bill.
(Fun fact, in GF lore HE inspired the Eye of Provenence through-out history so that really ads a lore to the fun design)
Presence, for me, bumps up to 4/5 at least.

Overall, they both bump up to the 30s, Belos right on 30 with Bill being 31.

I’d argue that Andreas isn’t the villain of Amphibia, and that the core is the true villain because the core manipulated Andreas into doing stuff he didn’t truly want to do, and eventually he stood up for himself, and did the right thing, and found redemption, while the core was destroyed for its evil
I agree but i did a poll on my channel on which villains to compare and the core lost.
@@bearwithme5669that's not really a good way to decide
Andreas is like darth Vader and the core is palpatine (pretty fitting comparison). One was a merciless tyrant that got redeemed, the other an unforgivable force of evil

Sadly, he royally screwed up, forgetting his power of altering time
Not only did Belos kill flapjack but he tried to make Hunter consume him before Hunter fought back
2:39 His new form isn't draining his powers.
All the Bill imagery is even better when you learn that all depictions of Bill are like seeing eyes for him.

Doesn’t the axolotl grant a wish once its name is spoken
6:00 He was introduced the like third to last episode of season one Bill was introduced second to last episode of season one
I love Belos as a villian but when your in a competition with Bill cipher, you are never winning. Deer teeth will forever haunt me with fear and joy.
ODALIA SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON THIS LIST
Also it hurt me when he said acid rain instead of boiling rain
Odalia is two evil to be ranked. also my apologies for the acid rain bit.
The coolest thing about Bill is that even if he isn't in many episodes, he's always present. The show set up the world in a way that makes it EXPLICITLY obvious that the trees and dark forces are always watching, and you always feel the pressence of weirdness everywhere you go.
For Effects on the protagonists you could also say for Bill that he tortures Dipper
Looking at "The Last Mabelcorn" I'm pretty sure Dipper has PTSD (And that was before Weirdmageddon)
His Manipulation of Ford too
The guilt he must feel after thinking he was doing something good
@@ellielovegood6307 let’s not forget that Native American shaman

I also love how trought the show Bill is treated more as a calamity, a inevitable disaster, rather then just an evil guy.
28:41 bill tried to trick axolotl to reincarnate but ended up tricked by axolotl into being trapped in THERAPRISM forever
for me, where Bill is iconic and powerful, Belos feels more impactful as the vastly overarching villain. he's a cult leader and serial killer which makes him vastly more grounded than Andrias or Bill.
The three horseman of childhood shows with nostalgia that hits like a truck.
Yes
Belos is basically the Dark Souls boss that you fight at the very end of the game after hearing everything about his kingdom and deeds. Like the whole Grimewalker thing screams Dark Souls
Stan punching Bill straight in the eye is was so satisfying
very true
You know that Disney cartoons like Gravity Falls, Amphibia, Owl House, Ducktales reboot, Wander Over Yonder, Star vs The Forces of Evil etc... do something that modern Disney movies fail at ?
By giving us actual villains
There were some theories in Season 1 saying that Bill was King. While there is some reasoning, King acts dominant but also helpful and loyal to those around him.

Agreed
Just for the facts that it's so iconic, versatile (animations, powers...) and fits the personality
In bills final moments something noteworthy to point out is that he sees his death a few seconds later and promptly turns into the red angry form
The core keeps an eye on Andrias, literally there is an eye on his crown.
In Thanks To Them, Belos actually killed Hunter and gravely injured Flap
Before watching I already know Bills the best villain. He doesn’t manifest “often” in the show as he only appears in 7 episodes out of the 40 total but when he does it’s insane how batshit insane he is and how funny he is as well, and he’s extremely well written along with VERY memorable.
I would argue that the core is the actual villain of Amphibia, it just used Andrias to do its work. Plus Andrias goes to the good side in the end.
Belos is great but no one can be better then bill
Belos is like Wallace Breen from half-life 2. Even though he is only seen for a short time, his presence is felt throughout the whole series. Also they live in a huge tower, have masked guards and are basically a right wing force
If you read the book of bill...and are caught up on recent events...you'll realize...it isnt over yet...bills story that is...there is still more
5:56 back when gravity falls first aired my parents were really into conspiracies and me and my dad sat down watched it and saw bill (which we thought was the illuminati at the time) at the end of the intro just for a split second tho. This freaked us out and my dad told me to stop watching the show, which made me watch it even more.
the point im making is even at the very beginning of the show bill ws referenced and im sure i wasnt the only one who was curious as to why at the end of every intro he appeared.
I am SO glad you put bill as the best. I was worried you wouldn’t for a moment. Also I feel like the core should be here instead of andrias.
It also reminds me of B.R.A.I.N. from 9
@@BUnitMN-Tas seen in Marcy's possession scene, the core IS binary- in that it uses binary code.
I do agree that the way Stan gets his memories back is a bit cheap. he gets them back Scott free kind of undermining the sacrifice.
@@bearwithme5669 it's takes a while if we take from the books

I think bill should have gotten 5/5 for evil deeds cause he destroyed an entire dimension along with everyone he ever knew that’s definitely more than anything Andria’s or belos did 🤭✨💅
Canonically a accident tho
My opinion:
Andrias: Keith David delivers a fantastic performance, I mean, when doesn’t he?
He just enjoys chaos and pain onto others because that’s what he lives for
Belos: Honestly, Belos is my personal favourite villain.
It's impressive that you didn’t let the bias just give the max score to Bill.
I really wanted to give him max score. but I also wanted to try and be professional
Bill is one of my favorite villians but for some reason belos just hits differently
Now that the book of Bill is out it really adds to him
The way he spoke in reverse in the end was perfect, he knew he would die and so he had the perfect backup.
Well bill is the strongest in the list and his entrances are the best imagine moon looking at you and then turning into bill cipher 💀
The thing i love about Bill is that he is NOT dead. He is still alive in Stans mind.
Nah, he's just in therapy
2:37 i think he became weak beacouse of what collector did to him, you know. Wipe out. And that make him so much weaker
I feel like now, with the book of bill. He has gotten even better
agreed its a amazing book.
I don’t see people still making fan fics and song about any other billion than bill and the show ended 8 years ago. This automatically makes him #1
I like how belos is perceived to be this huge sludge monster, when he is revealed to look like your dad or uncle with a kind face but a huge scar/disease. Also, I don’t wanna talk about amphibia cuz it’s too sad.
here is my opinion
Character designs 1: Bill (4/5) it's simple yet perfect 2: Belos (3/5) A great villain look 3: Andrius (3/5) It worked very well despite being the least changed design.
Final score
Bill: 4 + 5 + 3 + 5 + 3 + 4 + 3 + 5 = 32/40
Andrius: 3 + 4 + 4 + 3 + 3 + 5 + 3 + 3 = 28/40
Belos: 3 + 3 + 3 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 2 = 27/40

good ranking. I like how well formatted your comment is. I apricate how much effort you put into going threw all the criteria's. respect 👊👊👊👊
I would have put belos higher in actions then andrias because he did attempt to genocide an entire race, also the amount of grimwalkers he mercilessly slaughtered,
the reseditants of the town he blew up,
the witches who died after getting a prototype sigil,
all the palisman he consumed
(animal abuse) he was litteraly a tyrant, if he succeeded he would basicly be fantasy hitler
Its also safe to assume that when he raised the tytans arm in the finale, several witches probably fell into the boiling sea and died like that...
Oh he did kill his best friend and they're wife (probably)
Also gave hunter AND luz ptsd
And also he's a biggot to top it off so i think he really did the worst out of everyone here,
i mean bill did somehow destroy his original dimension but its unclear wether the other 2d beings were sentient

Belos’ actions include mass murder as Phillip, fraud and defamation of the titan and the owl lady, attempted murder, attempted genoside twice, manipulated of Luz causing her to help him find the collector, mass property damage, assault of 6 minors and more in crimes atleast and he still gives belos a 2.
trust he's not that bad. totally a stand up dude
Not to mention he manipulated a kid (the collector)
Also, fratricide.

Honestly i truly loved belos' outfit and was kinda sad when he took the mask off... The mysteriousness of his character and appearance added so much to him... And its weird how once he took of his mask once we basically never saw it again... After we saw his face the animators just abandoned the old outfit which im still kinda angry/sad about
My ratings for each:
Design: Andrias/Belos
Beliefs: Belos
Powers: Bill
Prescence: Bill/Belos
Actions: Belos
Effects on Protagonist: Andrias/Belos
Conclusion: Andrias/Bill
I'd give Belos' design a 5/5, with the human form actually being the reason why. He's just that, a man. He represents the dangers of bigotry, misinformation, and refusing to sway on an ideal you're convinced of - truly corrosive when left unchecked as he falsely claims wild magic (and freedom of expression) to be. He's a masterful reflection of the hatred and fear we see so often in our own world, and being nothing more than one of our own reveals the true power of prejudice when combined with an unshaking will to enact it.
Im torn between my love for Bill and Belos as villains. Both were good and very well set up and their downfalls were incredible.I also dont think powers should be a factor on how good a villain is as much as how creative/fitting for the villain they are.(bill would still be a 5/5)
Thing about bill keeping the mystery of gravity falls going, when the book of bill released the internet was sent back 2012
My absolute favorite of these villains, is Belos. I find Andrius a bit more henchmen rather than the main villain. And Bill, yes, he has a twisted sense of humor, but I still laugh.
But Belos, he's just straight up intimidating. I literally had nightmares of him trying to k*ll me😱. He's a well written villain!!!
These shows had the best villians I’ve seen in any cartoons
In my personal opinion, Belos is the best villain of the three, but Andrias is the best overall character.
We can’t lie, we all love villian
Sometimes I feel like Belos was eating the magic palisman to get that form so he could justify his "witches/magic are evil" mindset
Bill was so strong that he was able to change the opening gravity fall. which villain is capable of that
Bill is best cause of his childhood. It is sooooooooooo so sad 😢 1:54
Bill appears in every episode at the end of the intro
Andrias sounds like the president in rick and morty

Honestly, if you did more of these videos, besides the two you could add in more shows like Phineas and Ferb, the second dimension, movie, and both of the DuckTales cartoons
