Oh wow; that's fascinating. Never thought of using that mode on Disting for that purpose! Sounds great BTW.. 👌

Thanks Probbie. I forgot to mention in the video: if you "try this at home", feed the modulator into the linear input of the disting and send exponential output to the exponential (v/o) input on your oscillator. I assumed it would be the other way round, and needed Os to put me straight!

That's great if you have a powered modular case and the Disting module. I don't have another $400 for that right now.

A cheaper option is to hit the FM index with a plucky envelope, so you only get FM at the beginning of each note, ie keeping the pitch mostly stable. No additional modules needed!

I think Complex oscillators are for making weird 1960s buchla style noises so i don't see the need for pitch tracking. I would ad a ringmod and wavefolder. I also started with a Neutron, sold it, bought a huge rack since, and just bought a Neutron again - just had two hours of more fun with it than my expensive rack. Limitatios help.

Yes, I also have a soft spot for my Neutron as it was my first electronic instrument. I can't bring myself to sell it!
