Twin carbs are fun to sync, I had to do it when I built my shifter kart with a Honda cb200 engine. Though it don't sound like a sync issue as much as just a clogged carb. Best bet would be to pull em both apart and rebuild them. One or both carbs are leaning out. Also on the gearing issue, first get rid of the #40 chain set up,that karts to heavy with to much power for #40,go with #50 chain. Also on the opposite side you should run 1:1, if the engine sprocket is 17 run a 17 on the jackshaft. Run about a 4:1-4.6:1( 15-60,13-60) final drive ratio. I ran a 3.66:1 ratio on my kart, but it was alil lighter and only had to pull one person. You have to take into account the reduction of the trans, I have all the math written down somewhere. Will have to bust it all out again soon to.
A lot of guys who build mini buggies with motorcycle engines, usually use a radiator from a Honda civic and an electric water pump. That should prevent future over heating issues.
Anyone know a good video That explains how to do stuff the a drive wheel and sprocket? Tryna make my own go cart wit the 212 predator and watched a couple vids but none show how the sprocket and clutch and chain actually all comes together onto a drive wheel or axle or any of that
Looks good dude. I just finished putting a ninja 250 in a go kart myself. You are definitely having fuel issues as that motor should redline at 14k. On mine I was losing power and it was cutting out at high rpm due to electrical. I thought it was fuel related but it was the wire that charges the system and it was draining my battery.
That's such a great build guys! It's going to be only limited by traction when you're climbing over and up anything you want.>#2questions may answer carbs.Fuel Vent.Fuel line diameter.Rock on guys.
Lol! You guys have got to regear that thing! Sounds like it's redlining at 10mph. It's actually kinda entertaining to hear it screaming like it's running 50-60mph and then here it comes, creeping past the camera going parking lot speeds. Haha!! You guys did great though. Get her regeared, rebuild those carbs and she'll be a beast of a machine. I can't wait to watch THAT video. Y'all's reactions will be hilarious!!
If you add a pump you may need different needle and seats in carbs. I would try a more free flowing petcock like a pingle and make sure tank is vented well.
Great build guys but it does seem like there is a power issue. That engine should push that kart much faster that what I’ve seen so far. FYI I’m only to 8:46 so let’s see if you fix it.
@@sniper198369 They most certainly do have a device to sync carbs. rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F202868329405
Yeah i know they have a carburetor sync device. not the way you said to turn them down then adjuste together that wount sync the carbs they will need to make or buy a carb sync device.
@@sniper198369 I was just saying that so you have at least a good chance of getting them closer together without a sync tool. Obviously that wouldn't have been perfect..lol.
sounds like you need to redo the sprocket combo, along with fixing the fuel issue, the engine sounds like it's working too hard to get it moving. My CBR600 powered Hammerhead has a 5:1 final ratio, which is great for low end performance. It will spin the tires, like crazy, up thru 4th gear. I haven't shifted past 4th gear yet (60+ mph in 4th is fast enough)
You guys rock! .. On the real..! you built this one quickly, as the others you build! Don't burn yourselves out, because you were spot on for the gas tank low fuel issue at the end. I wasn't expecting that spot out at all! You are prolly spot on! I can't wait to see the numbers that it pushes! I really can't wait to see if you guys try something Electric ..!? 😀..waiting for the next vid of the 250cart!
Deuces are HEAVY! Almost 700lbs dry, and you guys added a lot to it I don"t know how they got away with 12hp from the factory, so mine is getting 40, and that may not be enough. Then I'm sure I have to tweek the gearing.
Use a Hollow Drive Shaft as well as a hollow jackshaft if so how come you didn't use a solid one just wondering what are reasons was looks awesome now great job love the content keep it coming
Definitely run a smaller rear sprocket and judging by the sound of it you definitely need to fit a suitable fuel pump, it sounds like it’s suffering from fuel starvation.
I bet if you dumped the clutch in like 3rd gear, it would've spun up. I think because of the gearing, it just doesn't have enough speed to get the tires going. I don't think torque was the issue.
First ( if i have learned anything from my long career watching youtube) change your spark plugs! Then put the airbox back on, then swap all four carbs for two from gopowersports and plastic intake..... Or,,,, get a fuel pressure gauge and find out what the bike had stock and match it. Better yet grab the entire fuel system from the bike and put it on as a temp measure and see if the issue goes away. Have fun fault finding cause i have watched so many bloody vids doing just this last year. Ask, cars and cameras and ratherbwelding Those guys have been through this already
try using a Facet #60304 electric fuel pump , from Aircraft Spruce $37.99 I had that same problem on my kart (ninja 250) gravity feed only fills the carb with the inlet barb , not enough flow to keep the other carb filled with fuel. this pump is 3-5 psi and enough flow rate to fill both carbs
Carb synch ONLY effects Idle and just off idle - not middle revs and high revs - the engine will have no idea about synch....... you need a jet kit for that pipe - The bike had a gravity fed tank to the carbs, Is your current tank ABOVE the carbs? yes? So, for sure not it
Definitely geared way to low. you should be doing at least 20 in first maybe even faster in my opinion of course. But still bad ass none the least. It's definitely got some low end torque for climbing stuff.

Gearing and carb tune will make it a fuckin demon

Thanks, guys. It looks to be a great buggy.
Even when the engine is running mint I still don’t think it’s going to be as fast as you hoping it will be. It’s a good build though 👍🏻
Once those carbs are tuned and synced and you add an external fuel pump it’s gonna fly👍🏽👍🏽
The articulation looks very cool!

Glad to see it finished.I hope you guys will get it figured out.
Maybe a 2 to 1 jack shaft sirs to compensate for the weight
Saw you guys on motor trend yester day. It was a older vid. Pretty cool guys. Did you no?
Yeah! We filmed that back at 10k subs. I actually didn’t know they were replaying it I’ll keep an eye out thanks!

They make a device that makes syncing carbs easy. Or just turn them both all the way to zero so to speak and then adjust them equally.
Yeah it doesn't work that way carburetors have to be adjusted separately.

Geared to be a crawler.
carb tuning and change the rear gear I think she would be good. Maybe look into a different CDI box may cause some interference
What car shifter cable did you use?
Its a nice kart u got 2 small of a engine
it used to have a 6 1/2 hp on it that engine is more than enough
Its fine. Wait till they get it running right... It should be throwing dirt rooster tails with that setup...
She needs a pulse pump. Normally the carb is fed by vacuum, or at least that's how my 250r is set up, so gravity isn't gonna do the job.
Sounds like she's fixen to blow LOL. With you in first gear and it geared really low LOL.
Are the shock filled with oil? If so, try a lighter weight.
you need to jet the carbs now you have a short exhaust its drying up plus think about drive ratio it sounds too high!!!!

decrease the size of the axle sprocket for more ground clearance
not too much... remember its a crawler

Do you know how to change gear
The problem is imo that little 250 motor is too weak you need a 500 or bigger it just doesn’t have the power you are wanting
I’d bore it out don’t seem to have much power even with carbs not jetted right but thats just me!
