Thanks for the thorough video. Have the same model and found a small pebble impacting the gasket on the upper valve causing a leak. Easy fix thanks to your video. Nicely done.
I thought this would be much more complicated than it is, and one website selling parts even said I needed a special tool for disassembly. After watching this, I disassembled the two relief valves, flushed them out, flipped one of the seals around, and the leak has stopped. Thanks for the content.
Great video. Had Febco backflow for 10 years. Once I took it apart and found a big chunk of something in there....had no idea where it came from. This week I had the leaking from the vent, took the top chamber apart, inspected, flushed a little water and it was good to go. Have no idea why it was leaking, unless something came out undetected when I flushed it. Thanks for taking the time to make the video!
Thank you so much!!! Just taking out the the upper and lower valves and cleaning out the holes took care of my problem. You saved me at least $100 from the sprinkler company sending their guy. Thanks again, you rock!!
Crazy a diy’er has the best instructional video on the internet!! Maybe you can help me…. My issue is the inverse of yours. When I have the output valve open water literally pours out of that plastic thingy. I took mine apart but never pulled out the piece where your problem is. Hopefully that’s my issue as well.
Thanks for the compliment on the video. Try carefully taking it apart sort of cleaning it up and putting it back together. It doesn’t take much for these not to work correctly. Very small rocks or other debris can cause these to work in correctly. Let us know how it goes.
We fixed problem a couple of times due to the debris, it is the #1 valve that had tiny rocks on the ruble seal, clean up and turn on the incoming water valve to flushing about 1 minute.
Thanks for the video. My problem similar, except randomly water will blow, not leak, out of the bottom and continue. After slightly unscrewing the top nut on the top back flow ( valves shut off ) , the spring will snap close. I can then re- tighten It. I have not been able to correctly diagnose how to make it happens. It randomly happens at turn off of sprinkler system. I am sure it has to do with pressure and will look at the area you showed. Great Video.
Thanks for the video. My landscaper installed this valve about a month ago. It supplies a six zone system that waters every other day. This valve discharges to the ground about a gallon of water about once a week. Is that normal?

Hey bro . Where can I find the numbers of the back flow. I thought all what I need is the number that is right on top of the back flow. I have one leaking back flow but I already try to order on Amazon but it seem like they don’t have that
Hey bro . Where can I order a Wilkins 1”. 3074723 kit ? I tried to order on Amazon but it seems like they don’t have that or maybe there’s something that I’m missing? Like more numbers?
Thank you for sharing and this was literally my issue as well! The part is ridiculously expensive right now. It's nearly half of a new system. Are there alternatives sold?
Unfortunately there’s no good alternatives. If you look at the link I put in the description that price is not inflated. That’s the same it was when I did it. I know it’s crazy expensive.
A plumber gave me a quote of $764 to fix this. I fixed it using your video myself in ten minutes. THANK YOU!!!
Nice job! Happy to help.
Thanks. You saved me lot of money. There was a debris on the valve seat. Cleaned in few minutes. 🙏

Thank you!! Flipping the seal around from that first part fixed it for me.
It was still leaking so I ended up discovering that the rubber seal needed to be replaced. Thanks again.

Thanks for the great video - you just saved me from having to hire this out to get it replaced.
A definite help with the problem at my house. Thank you!
Thank you sir! On account of this very informative and clear video, I was able to fix mine with very little difficulty.

Why do you have an RP for your irrigation system???
Great video, what's that lock hanging from the check valve? Its function?

Make sure you have it tested after you repair it!

The galvanized pipes can rust on the inside and be a source of debris also.
