This brought tears to my eyes this morning as this is how my Mom used to sound when she would sing this solo. I hear and remember her presence as I listen to this songbird touch my heart.
Recorded on December 31, 1956 - I presume. Addison's voice is just like her appearance - humble, yet overwhelmingly sweet, kind, soft, warm. Her recordings include 20th century avantgarde composers as well.
Come unto Him All ye that labour Come unto Him Ye that are heavy laden And He will give you rest Come unto Him All ye that labour Come unto Him Ye that are heavy laden And He will give you rest Take His yoke upon you and learn from Him For He is meek and lowly of heart And ye shall find rest And ye shall find rest unto your soul Take His yoke upon you and learn from Him For He is meek and lowly of heart And ye shall find rest And he shall find rest Unto your souls
A very lovely and sweet rendering. Please, whoever put this video up, can you give the words that she sings, exactly in the introduction? Much appreciated, as versions differ slightly.
It’s from Matthew 11 28-29 Such humble and beautiful verses and one of the most beautiful parts of Handel’s Messiah- Come unto Him, all ye that labour, come unto Him that are heavy laden, and He will give you rest. Take His yoke upon you, and learn of Him, for He Is meek and lowly of heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Blessed Father, I humbly pray that You accept the offerings of Adele, Your beloved, and, in the day of final reckoning, to safely deliver her into Your kingdom. Sustain her soul in the majesty of Your unmatched Grace. I also ask a special blessing for Your maidservant @divaslair, that You might supply all her needs, according to Your riches in glory. May both of these Your bond maidservants be strengthened in their faith, to know that there is no limit to the Love of God for His flock. Hallelujah, Amen.

Fortunately she is still with us, 98 in July
The opera singers (?) TODAY HAVE NO CONCEPT OF WHAT CHIAROSCURO SINGING ENTAILS. THEY SHOULD LEARN FROM ADELE ADDISON
Calm down castrato lol
