I love that Leica listens to its customers. The Q line of cameras is beloved and I'm looking forward to seeing where this line goes in the future. I'll be getting a Q2 Monochrom most likely.

That image of the old Roman castle is the Limes in Saalburg, Germany. Glad to hear Peter said he especially likes Q-P and Q2M since I own both. The Q with its 28 mm Summilux is perfect for my traveling.

I was completely against this B&W ONLY expensive camera until the very last minute of ordering from B&H when someone bought the last Q2 out from under me as I was too slow typing my information in the checkout and I was so disappointed and the only thing I `could think was well there is a open box monochrome but nahhhhh, but I reluctantly got it and never regretted it to my surprise

When a q3 monochrom for tilting screen + usb c + better af + better batteries + enough resolution for 50mm crop images ? And last with a 40mm or so lens ?

Do you remember the time, when you told us that it is not possible to produce a full frame sensor that fits into the M8 ? Well I do! …

I shoot a 1932 Leica Standard on the streets. And beside that I am enjoying the small X2. But oh boy how I wish I could use a Q2M for my streetphotography ❤️

Thanks for this video. Mine arrives today. I'm very excited that I'll be out shooting with both my Leica Q (original) and the Q2 Monochrom.

The black and white images from the old days were also a credit to the use of black and white film types photographers chose to use and also the paper stock and print choice to produce the end result. What Leica have done is essentially limited that choice to "one single" film stock type. This is what I don't understand, why is this such a "useful" feature? Maybe it's me, but having a Leica film camera, I can choose to use colour film and then black and white when desired, choosing from the variety of film stocks that are available to give me the "look" i want, versus the look Leica chooses to gives you with this monochrome digital. It's paramount to choosing to shoot Leica jpeg black and white only, limiting my creativity, no?

Unless I misunderstood you, you can instead purchase the Q2 color sensor camera and convert the images to monochrome when you prefer B&W. One of the reasons Leica market a monochrome sensor is that it’s more sensitive than a sensor with a Bayer mask. That capability is useful to some folks (like me).

    hello Leica camera USA-Team,
finally, I had thought of buying the new Leica M Q2-Monochrome.
But as they explained in different people on TH-cam, I came to know, that when you change to other Digital focal lengths, the about 40 Mega Pixel, no longer correspond to its actual M10-Monochrome made in Wetzlar, but for example for the 75mm are available only 7-Mega Pixel! Sincerely I find a complete rip-off!
That is why it is not worth to pay here in Switzerland SFr.6300, and then if you use the other digital zooms, the actual pixels of about 40, are reduced to a handful of pixels.
At that point I find it better to buy the Leica M Monochrom (Typ 246), or the M10-P Monochrome.
With one of the two models: Leica M Monochrom (Typ 246), or the M10-Monochrome made in Germany Wetzlar, we have better results.
Clearly the cost between the two models that I have retired is higher, but better so I find, or its Q2-Monochrome, you must use it only with its only 28mm lens, leaving out the other digital zoom lenses.

It is not a digital Zoom but a digital crop and that is your misunderstanding. The DNG will still be of the 28mm field of view with the 75mm frame lines applied over the top on the Jpg. This is clearly pointed out in the marking details for the Q2 so shouldn't be a surprise to any buyer if they have done their research.

Die Bilder mögen gut sein, aber vom Design sieht die Kamera 📸 aus wie eine 35 Euro Kamera aus China.
