    Painting my third rifle with your paint. Nailed the first one but just like leaving your video running in the background. One day I’ll have a correct FAL to paint.

    The charging handle on my FrankenFAL is like that one but worn down to almost bare metal with traces of black and that green on it. The dust cover is worn to almost bare metal but has a faint tiger stripe like pattern across it.

Seems bullet tip hits side of chamber and the fail to completely feed. Both sides hit.edge do chamber, only left side fails to feed. This is a good tutorial. It's a far cry from the mall ninjas that Insist camo can only be applied with perfect stencils and other methods that only exist in situations where people have time, money, and noone shooting at them any time soon. Even US military sniper rifle and special forces weapons get rattle canned in theater at best and I've never heard of a military sending exclusively artists to war (the propaganda posters would be beautiful though).

    • @arizonaresponse
      @arizonaresponse  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know what to tell you . . . I use the same paint in the shop and it's always been a great match - so much that I can integrate it with original finish and the difference is very difficult to discern. Just the original is a little "dirtier" from 50 years of weathering.

    • @Rpg39_
      @Rpg39_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@arizonaresponse have you ever tried mixing the yellow into the green to lighten it? Because that’s all I can think to try because both me and my friend think it’s too gray.

    • @arizonaresponse
      @arizonaresponse  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Rpg39_ like I said, I don't know what to tell you. While it's possible there will be subtle difference in lots mixed months apart (as there is in any paint), I've sold over a thousand sets and you're the first one to not be thrilled.
      Some Rhodesian originals do have a third color, which is the two mixed together. And there are also two other colors from the Mugabe/Zimbabwe era - a more olive green and a brown.

    Can you tell me on the legality early FN Belgian Imports that had the safety sear in them, about seven years ago Cabela's in Phoenix had a import even complete with the manual and it had a cut and paste photo copy or something over the manual stating it was a full auto but converted to civilian(tab bocking auto )$3500,,,, and then I seen one at the gun show Canadian inch fal same thing had the safety ser in it and blocking the auto position an older gentleman desperate for money wanted $750 for it I'm kicking myself for not buying it ,,, would the early Belgian import be legal to own since its history could be traced back to importation with all the Providence and paperwork,,,, and what about stumbling on an unknown the older gentleman I think had it for years and years and years ,,,,, I think they call these guns gray area guns,,,, could you and would you please explain a little bit ,,, A friend of mine has one if I would get the chance I may buy it,,,
    Love what you do you're G.O.A.T maestro

    • @arizonaresponse
      @arizonaresponse  5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      So having a safety sear in it - bad. Having it cut for a safety sear - gray. There are the Browning imports / "G series" where ATF is like "well, we now consider these machineguns, but we let these in and as long as they are not modified, we'll exempt them by serial number from the NFA"
      But then they let in a bunch of Steyr import 50:00 that were also sear cut. And then a bunch of Century import L1A1s and 1A1, that were sear cut. The L1s are post 89 and were not 922 compliant, so were for LE only sales. But individual LE cannot buy "machineguns", only departments can, and then "issue" them to an LEO. So if an LEO can buy, it's not a machinegun. It's only a non-922 compliant import. So what I get out of this is tha sear cut does not mean machinegun in and of itself.
      A lot of gtuns crossed the border from Canada. What was a legal semi-auto in Canada, is not necessarily a legal semi auto in USA. Because even though it is identical to a US import G series, it wasn't officially imported. But I had a friend who immigrated from RSA, and his guns were specifically approved as factory-made semi-autos. Customs said "ok". ATF might disagree. So this is where the "gray area" thing comes in.
      Is it a machinegun by current standards? Yes. Has ATF allowed the official import of functionally identical guns as late as 1994? Yes. Is it absolutely identical in semi-auto blocks to the 1960s G series? Yes.
      ATF identifying x number of guns as "not subject to NFA" does not mean no other guns are included - or we wouldn't have the sear cut Styer imports. ATF even approved a registered drop in sear to convert a sear cut steyer 50:64 to a post 86 dealer sample for me - the gun itself was "not" a machine gun" but installing the sear made it so. But since they approved the sear as a conversion part and no mods to receiver happened, it was not married to the gun. And years later I could destroy the sear and sell the host gun as a semi.
      So that's why it's gray area - ATF's interpretaion has varied widely over the years. So I can't give you a legal opinion, and you don't want to ask ATF - because any answer they give will be in direct conflict to their previous decisions - which is a can of worms you don't want to open.
      IN comparison, look at all the pre-1989 AKs that have the serial number on the trunion. A trunion is not a receiver. A receiver without a serial number cannot be imported. But there are a hundred thousand of them here. Don't ask, dont' tell. ATF doesn't want to be "forced" to open that can of worms.
