“Small hands, Jeremy Beadle style” 🤣🤣🤣 dude that’s just savage!
Glen Downer just slipped off the tongue lol
I went to Tamiya because of you. I loved my TRF201. It was really fun to run something different.
Love this series!
Also, rear cab bodys just so much better :)
Found this video as I just bought a nib Tamiya trf 201 XMW . Cost me a small
Fortune but i believe it’s the rarest edition and I have seen used rollers go for 400 . I have a small new in box Tamiya collection of Avante black special . Egress. Vqs etc so will sell
Some on as I’m over the shelf queen thing and enjoying sending them to the moon. You can see me bashing a repro 2001 on an 8th track ( that car is currently on eBay to pay towards the 201) lol. Loving the Tamiya big bore shocks. Miles better than the vintage hi capacity rereleases I’ve been using
Great video didn't know much about the TRF cars thanks for sharing
It’s cool how Tamiya came out with what is essentially a metric first release RC10B4, and it beat normal and Centro B4.2’s. 201 is probably one of my favourite buggies of all time
Always knew the TRF 201 was a special car but I didn't know the history behind it. Great video, keep this series going.
Wow, that was awesome! I remember reading about a lot of those drivers, Lee included, back in those days in the magazines etc. I used to want a TRF car, but could never realistically afford one, they were a wee bit pricey ;) I've always been more into the on-road scene, but gotta love a TRF buggy, and I love the TRF201x. Great video, I've subscribed on the strength of this video. Keep up the good work dude!!!
Thanks Lee, that was great, come and race at Mendip after lockdown.
These are cool mate. Hope you’re all good. Oli
Back to this video again a I just found a nib trf 201 with upgrade kit. Don’t know if I can bring myself to open it as a collectors item now but this video is tempting me to get it built .
I love mine! Great video!
Another great video love the vintage cars!
Have to say I'm loving these videos of the high time for me in RC when I was in early to Mid 20ish age bracket. You could really see the development and changes to the cars from the late 90's RC10B3 type cars, and onto these early 00's cars. Makes you realise how little adjustments were made only a few years ago compared to now. Simpler times! Can't wait for the next one.
Mark Williamson thanks Mark! And good to hear from you! Lee
Great video series, look forward to the 511 video when that comes up
YES. Been waiting for his Tamiyas
xxDaiquiriMan68 more coming soon :)
Subbed. I tried driving on a track near me for the first time yesterday. My xray xb4 started making raspy noises when i applied throttle just holding the car, so i moved on to my lazer zx5, which breaks so easily. Give me normal flexible plastic over carbon reinforced brittle plastic any day. BUT, it survived me crashing into every thing there, and kept going. Driving on a track was so hard, I knew it was, but not THAT hard lol=) It would have been easier with the xb4 because the lazer steers so much even with the end point turned way down. Even more on astroturf.
Very nice Leeroy!
Great vid. Thanks👌
No problem 👍
A great video, I really enjoyed watching it,😀😀😀
Thank you so much 😁
Awesome to see an in depth look at that car, and to hear your story Lee. I tend to think of the original TRF201 as a metric B4 really. I think that cloning the B4 was a good starting point for Tamiya to race 2wd 1/10 offroad. May as well do what the best were doing and then work from there.
Another awesome video cheers lee 👍 you’ve inspired me and I’m now starting 1/10 2wd electric racing 👍 building up a b6.1 for when all this is over 😄 got a cheap roller and new electrics!
sam miller awesome!!
still
got my 201, plus another new in box
Keep em comming matei.
I never met you but I think you are a good and nice person to have as friend. Back to RC I always be a Tamiya fan, specially for TRF stuff. I hope TRF will back to off road field with their great TRF cars as it happen for their on road cars. Enjoy and stay safe Lee. Cheers
Marco Marco lynx thank you Marco! 🥰
precioso
I still run that motor! LOL!
Great video. More TRF please. Do you still have a 502x or 503x lying around for review?
I have the car that would become the 503X
What the heck is that blue machine behind your right shoulder?
Arlo75 haha. That’s a heat press machine for making clothing :)
Is there going to be a Tenth Technology one?
Luke Westwood 😬
Hi Lee - great video! Do you think this is strikingly similar to the Team Associated B4? Do you think the B4 is going to be a classic one day? Do you prefer 2wd or 4wd? Also - what is your favorite out of the new stuff? Say a B6 etc? Thanks from Australia!
Hey Alex, Yeh for sure the car was based on a B4! That car was the bench mark at the time and then the industry quickly changed over to mid motor. I have always been a big fan of 2wd, I like the way they drive and the fact you need to be a little more controlled with them. Out of the new stuff, you got to love a Yokomo YZ2 CAL3....
@@NemoRacingTV thanks mate for the feedback, I have got a Durga db01 I've gotten as well as some hop ups that I want to get it back to mint. I'll check that yokomo out as well!
How would it go in races these days??
I fear, being a rear motor car... not very well. but it would be awesome fun to drive!
