Sweet truck my dad has a 1999 suburdan with a 383 stroker motor and flow master exhaust it was on a dyno and put 575 hp to the wheels and in the future he would like to put a turbo or super charger but it's lots of fun like that truck and great content keep it up

Man I had an 04 avalanche, that bastard gave me a decade of solid service. So I replaced it with another one. Room for me, the wife and three not small teenagers. Current one is an 03 from SC so I should get several years out of it here in NY. Just oil sprayed it a month ago.
@@williamsinger4124 im not sure how long mine will last, when i got it i didnt know it had all the rust it has, thankfully though all of the rust is hidden, so i can take my time getting new body pannels, and then a new frame (the frame im going to have modifyed with a coil over torsion bar delete conversion i found) and then have the frame powder coated, or something, then have the whole under side up to the tops of the cladding rino lined or something before having the rest wrapped, z71 off road edition needs something better then a pain job, easyer to wrap (and possibly cheaper) then paint all the time

@@williamsinger4124 i wouldnt rino line the cladding, cause its only body armor, im going to leave mine alone, cause no point in rino lining something that is made of plastic, and can easly be broken, as for the pewter, mine is actully a very dark blue, in different lightning it can look black, purple, or blue, but yeah, what i said earlyer is just to get it to a point i can start modifying it, im talking off road bumpers, lights, tires, i would like to make it into, what are they called, overlanders? what ever its called, im wanting to make it where i can take it down so many different trails, and beable to survive for a week
@@RavenKraken since the midgate is collapsible, that'd actually be a great overland vehicle. There are avalanche specific caps out there so that is a good idea. The only reason I want to rhino line the plastic is so it's all one color. 50 shades of grey belongs in a book, not a truck lol. That's literally my only gripe with the truck. I like the blue color on yours. My first one was an 04 non cladding model, in bud light blue i called that color. Do you plan on making videos of the build?
is the turbo supported with a bracket or is the plumbing/inlet piping support the weight of the turbo... (sort of like a muffler suspended with brackets ) thanks again i know this vid is two years removed but its the best example for my truck 🙏
What's the MPG on a tow and if you were to drive Long distance? And why did you go with a single turbo and not twin? (I have the 03 1500hd same lift & tires, but 373 gears)
Is there anything you really dont like about the rear mount turbo besides the turbo being exposed? There isnt enough room in my engine bay for a whole front mount setup and this looks like it works extremely well with your setup
Not really! It's a nice way to add a turbo! You do have to run a oil scavenge pump to pump oil back to the engine, but it's not hard to plumb in. Works very well!

It's been pretty good! This truck always does good and this video did exceptionally good! It's still going we'll see how far it goes then include it in a future video.
I don't know how to feel about that air filter placement on that Turbo I might have had to run that up under the back seat I bet it gets dirty real fast right there and if you went through some deep water yeah but it sounds good though

I honestly have no ideal, it was built over years! I'm sure I could ballpark it but it doesn't really matter to me because it's paid for. I'm sure it will continue to add up.
I try not to, just to take care of the truck, but have been caught in to rain before! You could relocate the filter if you were going to off road! It came with the kit I just didn't use it!

First time the truck got dirty though and i opened her up in 4wd for the day there was a ton of play in them by the end of day. Just not worth ìt when factory ones are like 20 bucks each.

Last time I try to stall converter and a four-wheel drive with 36s my Transmissions did not last very long and I had a pretty good Builder. Course a lot of things is come long ways since the old school Turbo 400 however they're also tried and trude
Yeah man the 80E is a continuation of the 400! They have a lockup converter and with a quality converter once they go into lockup it's like stock. Plus the newer stall is much more efficient. I've never had it go over 200 deg. even towing.

Thanks! Sounds like a similar build, nice! GMC calls it Carbon Metallic. It can look black, grey, or a greenish color depending on the lighting!

Not sure you can buy this kit anymore, STS went out of business. They were picked up by Holley but it's more of a universal kit now.
