This mission is a prime example of how the Ai has vastly improved. It's really slow and annoying, one mistake and you're dead. If this is in advanced wars 1 or 2, the enemy will spam mechs, which will be ineffective against air units. But now they have the brains to spam anti-air. Took me around 2 - 3 hours to finish this mission alone. And i can't disagree with the improvement. Since they're really in need of an improvement.

First time I played through this game, it took me over a year (playing on and off) to beat him. So many failed attempts. Started playing again after several years and won on my first attempt with only 50 in-game days ^_^ Scored an A and got 263 points
that attack from the get go was VERY daring... ell i did not have the guts to pull off the stuff you did here when i first played.... *took me 80 turns because forsythe managed to build up a considerable army behind the plasma barrier
Thanks for the vid. The positioning of the tanks, rockets and ships in first 4 days was really useful. Building of first bomber was essential. Once I followed you for the initial four days, I was able to go on and complete the rest. Got A rank. Crusiers were really useful towards the end to destroy his choppers.

i followed up to 5 days but the outcome was different regarding the opposing comander's placement of units compared to the video, is this normal and based on luck?
Hi Aero I have some questions regarding this : 1) FPS looks neat are you using Desmume ? 2) Using framskip on or off ? 3° What computer are you playing on ? 4) how do you make only one screen appear during map and two screens appear during fight ?
1) Yes 2) off 3) I built mine, so its a mid level gaming computer 4) Video Editing, Desmume records both screens so i used the video editor to crop out anything i didn't like.

Cool Dude Alex Hi Alex you actually need a powerful computer with the last version of Desmume I believe this is somehow a demanding game. If you are running on a low spec PC you can always sacrifice some quality for performance, try the settings enable bus timing and reduce graphics and try frameskip on at 2
I dont see how you get the submarine on step 3 to work. The ai always decides to move their battleship to reveal my sub, then kill it with the cruiser, so it then throws everything out of whack real quickly.
I've always used my Cruiser as bait to lure the Battleship forward (keeping it 1 tile outside of its Range assuming its used its maximum movement). I can then similarly keep the Submarine outside of the Cruisers movement range by a single tile, so that even if its revealled, it is impossible to be sunk. As much as you can push forward, you can turtle with relative ease in this mission due to the inland choke points making excellent Rocket/Missile Choke points, especially with the enemy reluctance to destroy the meteors.
First 2/3 were amazing, but you got a bit lazy and made a ton of silly mistakes towards the end... kind of seemed like you wanted to be done with it xD Overall great work--I got really frustrated trying to get S rank on this map, which is why I looked up your video xD

I looked far and wide, but could not find videos for most challenge maps. I sadly lack the knowledge and equipment to make them myself, and then of course there's the fact that I have yet to achieve S rank on several of them. I think you are a very good player, so I'd love to see you tackle those maps and (hopefully) come out with an S rank on them all!

It's literally better every way. 1. You can make every unit have their own ai format e.g offense, defense, all out and stop. 2. You can change the map sizes. What can i even say, nothing but THANK YOU 3. 50, yes 50 map slots
I remember making a huge ass map that took me a week to make and it was so detailed and fun to play i hope i find my game again. I lost all my creativity as i grew up lol
There’s no need to shatter all the meteor fragments. The only one you really need to shatter is the one to the right of the plasma wall. Smash that and it’s smooth sailing from there.
This was the longest mission I've ever done as a kid, took me about 8 hours to complete and it was just constant unnecessary trades between my units and "his" yes i used an actual people term because fucking AI is just not cutting it for the general.
I loved these kind of games when I was younger, I even made some videos about strategy, rpg and other genres on GBA, and sometimes I play them on my pc and mobile, using VBA
I've never played this game but couldn't he have just pulled a Sami and T Copter'd the HQ, or would it have built AA in response? Watching him let the AI build units hurt me a bit.
The art style is so bad. Shameful. Why did they change it? I'm assuming they made this game, it did poorly, and now they think the series isn't worth continuing. But no, it's because you changed the atmosphere that made the game enjoyable to play.
I'm sure some people like it, but the art style and atmosphere (tone) are most of what I liked about the game. You're right, the art style fits the tone of the game, but it's depressing for me. They did the same thing with Battalion Wars 2. The first game was awesome, but the second one was super serious. Maybe they tried something different because the series was losing sales in general, but I think the change kind of killed the series.
I'm guessing they ran outta budget since nobody's buyin' the game since the ds ones. Same goes to the fire emblem games for the ds. Then Awakening woke fire emblem back up. Sadly Advanced wars wasn't awakended or got the ressurection treatment like they did to awakening.
