I'm sure Frank Kurtis never imagined one of his Indy Roadsters racing around a track like Cadwell Park.............Always a delight to see Fred Harper racing.
Gives understanding to ..seat of the pants......driving. sitting close to the back wheels give you so much feel for the rear sliding. It doesn't matter where the back wheels are as long as the front wheels a pointing the right direction 😊
J'avais la chair de poule durant 9.26 min. Le son extraordinaire de ces moteurs d'autrefois, la maîtrise fabuleuse des pilotes qui prennent des risques incroyables. Merci infiniment pour ce voyage dans le temps...
You will notice that some of the cars have a very narrow rear track; that's because they have a solid axle with no differential, which means both rear wheels always turn at the same speed as each other. So in tight corners it is necessary to break traction and slide the rear end, as you see here.
Thanks for uploading. My favourite meeting of the year at Cadwell but other things got in the way this year. Hope the chap who found the armco at the mountain has no lasting effects. That was quite an impact.
@@cfphotos27 Good to hear. My only hands on experience of cars of that era was drag racing a mate's Austin 7 special. It scared the heck out of me. Full respect for the competitors.
Finally a historic "race" where they actually show what the cars a capable of. Every other historic race i watched so far was someone showih off their one-foot driving techniques :D
GN Thunderbug special, GN cyclecar chassis with a 4.3 litre V-twin built up from a Riley crankcase and Salmson cylinders from a radial aircraft engine.
⚙Gearhead Eye Candy🔧 (G.E.C.) Very COoL. These guys have b@LLs of steal (sorry gals). I haven't been this impressed since I stepped out of the shower dripping wet Sorry for that visual. Cheers from So.Ca.USA 3rd House On the Left (call before stopping by)
Now this is racing. Cool on cool. Thanks for posting without music. All of those cars make marvelous music.
There is nothing better you can do with a historic racing car than race it like you mean it, brilliant!
Fantastic foottage, thanks for uploading! I went with my wife and sons for fathers' day and we all enjoyed it a lot.
Very good indeed. I particularly like the looking round the paddock bit. Lots of interesting things to see 😀

That steering wheel is going to need to be straightened!!
@@jameseastwood4984 It was certainly a reasonably big hit. Metal and wood cn be repaired or replaced fortunately.
The best!

A shame the weather spoiled the racing. Some amazing vehicles on the track and in the static display.

Wow thanks for posting. I remember some of these cars racing. Can’t watch F1 anymore,it’s rubbish
I understood why they love motorsport because f1 nowadays is impossible to understand
