PHD bags are so comfortable. I go zipless. For me, zips frequently catch and I usually end up sleeping on them. Warning about the 1000 down. It’s very warm so go lighter than you think you’ll need. My “summer” bag would be too much for the height of summer.
Yes the only issue with this bag is because you can turn bag as you turn the sewn through part can move around but if warm that kinda good put it on top. Yeah zips do catch I like a short zip for convenience.
I also agree with you regarding non water resistant treated down Tony. I still have an Australian made bag from the early 90s , the shell is a little porous nowadays but the down inside is as good as the day i bought it. I recently bought a new bag and purposely chose a Mountain Equipment model because of their use of non treated down. Alas my pockets were not deep enough for PHD. Cheers 😁

Ive been considering PHD sleeping bags for a few years now, but as Im from the States, I know no-one with personal experience with their bags, and its been challenging trying to get anecdotal info on their stuff. Essentially, Im interested in hearing your opinion on PHD's temp ratings. Are they accurate? I know you believe that typically adding 10C to stated ratings is advisable; I tend to agree with you, but Im curious if that's the case with PHD as well. By all accounts that I can find, these bags are epic. I will be using this for thru-hiking in moderately high elevation - up to 3500M, so Im considering the Hispar 400k series bag. -9F at 23 ounces? Yes please! Thanks!
Totally agree with you about treated down , i have never been able to notice any difference and i have been using down gear since 1976. I think it's just another marketing gimmick to justify squeezing a few quid more out of people and it makes no logical sense when it comes to lofting up ! Well done on getting a freebie out of PHD looks like it will work well as part of a combo with the quilt when it gets colder . Rab is oh so Chavvie these days even the Smack Heads wear it .......This comment will get hundreds of likes hahaha
It's all marketing! Don't need it. Now need it lol its laughable. Plus it's an excuse to sell over others who don't use it and say ours is wp theirs isn't therefore you need this one lol people so gullible and unfortunately too many influencers now promoting this BS 😅 not enough watching me and proper common sense. Yeah it was very kind of them. I think mostly in future it'll be a discount vs free but I think one more item might come my way the quilt after that discount. But tbf that is nice n kind it's UK made nit exactly cheap Chinese labour. The small light jacket on trip was also sent 😀 so I did well. Karma will be kind to them. All the other companies Inc a couple who offered but then I heard nothing from .... karma probably helped them to stub a toe lol 😆 😂 🤣

Very nice bit of top quality kit! It'll beat my 30 yr old dewline which has lost half its fluff, supplemented by two hot dog waterbottles :)
