- Hi train friends! Take a trip with me on my special day January 3rd to Menards! It was my second trip ever trip in store. I was pretty excited to see what I would find and share the experience with you guys and see what I got!
I travelled to 5 train stores on this trip today, and will upload a video each day this week of all the train shops I visited!

Thanks for posting! Was surprised to see what Menard's sold in HO and O scale.
Growing up, we only had Menards in the area (Upper Peninsula of Michigan). I'm so glad to see the train merchandise they offer become so popular to those of us in the hobby. I just picked up the "Valley Motors Dealership" and the "Dollar Store Strip Mall" with plans to purchase many more. Obviously, to match my channel name, I will be adding "TESCH" to my dealership. :) Tesch Valley Motors.......

Great Walk through . Absolutely Love Menards stuff . What I am starting to do is rotations . So I got sidings on the layout and I’ll swap out industrial buildings from Menards every so often to freshen operations up a bit and rotate things around on a cyclical schedule! It’s a blast and it’s cheap and fun . I’ll look forward to You train store tours in the next videos so thanks ! 🙂
Thank you! I have a spot on the layout where I swap in different items sometimes also but it can’t fit large buildings. I have a display board that has scenery where Somtimes I’ll setup mini scenes pictures etc and it can fit 1-2 large buildings
It's a good thing theres not a MENARDS near me bcuz I'd be on a shopping spree lol! That building you showed the Sash&Door is definitely detailed and ida bought that in a heartbeat! I tell you the selection of rolling stock is quite nice and to be $19.99 for the most part!

Edit: That ford dealership is supposed to have a white panel van on top and it was there yesterday. Somebody took it between then and now. Also that’s sand loader will fit right in as an AVR served industry. Nice buy.
I have a fair amount of menards buildings on my layout. Menards buildings probably helped me spark an interest in o gauge model railroading again. I’m from Wisconsin so there is plenty of menards stores for me to visit. It also helps that a lot of Menards buildings are based on Wisconsin geographics. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the nice comments. I completely agree they have really changed the game for affordable O gauge products. The buildings are super nice for the money. I own a few and hope to pickup a couple more in the future.

Luckily this one has a nice stock of train stuff and it’s the closest to where I live across the border into WV from Pittsburgh. It’s about a 1hr 10 min drive for me.
At our Menards there are all kinds of buildings, but no 5v DC wall warts to power them. Have to order them on line because in a couple of weeks everything will be gone and summer stuff in its place... LOL
wow that mendards is arranged exactly the same as ours. I guess they just have a thing they stick too. Their Website had even more cool stuff.
I remember in the 1960s when swedish fish were 4 for a penny.

I work for menards as a yard guy and every break I get is spent looking at the o gauge stuff 😅 I'm really considering getting the nuclear power plant for $99

When I was at Menards I was hoping they had their flat car with 2 us cable spools on it but they didn’t have it at the store and when then they stopped selling it on their website when I was ready to buy it

Great walk through. I just got my first Menards building and I would like to get a couple more. I just got that same Menards American materials building for Christmas
Thanks Shawn! This menards is about 1hr 10 min drive from me so it’s not super far but it’s a short trip for sure. I want to go back again and stop at cabelas I’ve never been in there. I hear it’s wild! The American materials building is really cool. I’m glad I snagged it for only $65 bucks!

I think to make it fair Home Depot needs to sell MTH products
I have over 20 Menards cars in my fleet and they stand up next to any of my Lionel or MTH. Buildings are way easier to set up also.
I have a good selection of their track. I'm not a huge train collector and have no idea what is really good or bad, but their track works for me. :D I've noticed our store only carries the train stuff around the Holidays.
they keep the train stuff in their loft during the rest of the year and will usually let you go up there to look around

Menard's make some great products, especially if you are on a budget. The only wish with Menard's is that they make more engines then they do.
Yeah I agree they make nice stuff for the money. Keep in mind those sante fe engines they have been making are only beta test batches. My guess is by the end of this year before the holiday season they’re going to announce mass produced F3 units in different paint schemes. That’s just a guess. It would make sense

I have the o scale Red owl, and I also have the o scale Piggly Wiggly and I don’t even own a train set

A number of Menard's train cars are scale. The low side gondola is full scale, the box cars are almost perfect scale to PRR X-29 box cars. The single dome tank is a good 8K older tank car. As you said the 14" flat car is scale. The other cars tend to be semi scale. Menard's has been a positive force in the hobby.
PS their new diesel loco is scale too.
I have a handful of the scale cars and semi scale. They make a nice product for the money. I’ve missed out on the flash sales of those beta F3 units but I have several friends that have gotten one and say good things. There’s plenty of reviews on them out there now. At this point my plan is to wait until they’re mass produced and hope for some other road names to better suit my collection

Saw your video walk thru for the first time. I loved Menards when I lived in Ohio. None in WNC. I looked online but dont see any engines. Do they ever carry engines or whole sets?
they have had 3 releases of Santa Fe F7s, all sold out within hours. These were test runs of 200 each and they're using feedback to make improvements. Hopefully, we'll see some more in the near future. Check their website and look at 'Train Stuff from Menards'
If you have 1/64 which would look more realistic HO or O scale.
I was in that MENARDS and didn’t even see the train stuff.

Pats and TK are the best shops in the Ohio Valley.
We were up to Pat's today too. Didnt get a chance to stop at T&K but went to Deluxe Toys and Novelty in Martin's Ferry. Plan on going back up later this week to both shops. Do you live close by too?
I’m in Pittsburgh so this was a short road trip for me and I’ve never been to pats or t&k before. I stopped a couple other places afterward too lol
@@PghTrainFanatic We go all the Time. We live about 40 minutes south down the River. We picked up some Weirton Steel Stuff and Thomas O Scale Cars. Plan on going back up and stopping by both shops later this week and pick up a few more things. Pat's is Packed that's for sure, plus he has 2 huge buildings behind the shop full of stuff. I seen on T&Ks website they got the Pennsy Baby K4's in today. I get alot of supplies from them. Deluxe Toy and Novelty is right up the road in Martin's Ferry and sells some Train stuff too. We go there and buy the Wooden Thomas The Tank items. I'll be checking out your videos of Pat's and T&K. We just Subscribed. Hope you to us too. Matt and Jebb

We are pretty Lucky to have 2 Nice Train Shops Locally. I've been to Chippers too. Alot of these guys I talk to dont have anything even close to them. I'm thinking about going back up to Pat's and pick up a Weirton Steel Switcher or his new Baltimore and Ohio Switcher. Have a Great Week..

I didn't like the video of manhard's trains interesting but I'm more of a lion I'll guy and sometimes spending that money well can get kind of expensive. But when you end of the video with the Sweet as fish. Could be a spell check on that 1 but I enjoyed the video

Do most Menards usually have American Flyer stuff? Do they have American Flyer stuff?
Menards currently only makes train cars, track and buildings in O gauge, and buildings only for HO scale. Nothing for American flyer S gauge

Hi they don’t sell O gauge train sets. I’m guessing eventually they will.
You might be thinking of the sante fe F3 diesel engines with the remote that they have been beta testing in batches of 200 units. They sell out within minute online when they send out email notifications.
I expect those to be mass produced sometime in the near future

You’re right lol. Somtimes they make more of stuff and it becomes available again like the water tower in O scale. It sold out before then I saw recently it was available again
