    • Performance // Granula...
This is a patch I created while experimenting with The Tetragrid from Manifold Research Centre.
    www.aimoscampa...
There are several patching techniques used that I have been experimenting with lately that lend themselves well to harmonic patching as well as much more experimental compositions.
    Core Techniques:
    • Chaotic cross modulation with magnets (Hail the donut)
    • Complex circular FM tones from Cš-L
    • Rhythmic gating over index ratios, wavefold depth and signal amplitudes
    • Granular/reverberant spatialisation using arbhar
    • TZFM as tone generator and processor simultaneously
    • Harmonic chord voice using Harmonàig/Saïch
The composition is much more aggressive and textural than my usual. Too much caffeine perhaps… or not enough?
I built the patch to be very hands on and immediate for manipulating the voices. The Tetragrid allows for a wonderfully chaotic interaction between its 6 modulation sources. At times things can stabilise and produce musical ostinatos but simply touching the interface will quickly mix up the patterns.
The algorithms defining the cross modulation in both the instances of audio sources and control generators are circular in nature and with dynamic influence over their ratios. They produce very diverse ranges of complex tones and patterns that can naturally stabilise.
A full written breakdown of the patch and access to the patchnotes can be found on the Learning/Patching page on Instruō website:

Ace Some excellent patching ideas and tips in this one. I will have to try some feedback patching with the arbhar. The through zero thing you do is really interesting. The format is great too. Thanks for doing these..

Great patch Jason. Roolz Gewei was a drum & drama machine, Peter's pictogram featured Tommy Lee (drum) & Pamela Anderson (drama). The Rollz circuits designed to create the sequencing for the drum which was basically a collection of pinged filters & basic oscillators, the drama was two deerhorn circuits a kinda double theremin.
For me the joy of the Roolz Gewei was always the weird rhythms but also little zipper noises from the 'paradox' created with an odd numbered rollz not quite settling on a rhythm.
You've certainly nailed Drama, try Tetra pinging a bank of your amazing filters 🙂
I might have to get a tetra grid now, thanks for that ;-), I have a fair bit of instrō my favourite use being feedback patches with Tanh(3) & arbhar for jazz drums.
I certainly appreciate your 'eurocentric' patching with the tetra.

Very inspiring patch and video. Love the long form approach and attention to detail.
I have been thinking of getting a Lion for some time, when I do I'd be very interested in the colored pins you have for it. Did you make them yourself or is there somewhere I could find them for purchase?
Thanks for the great content and awesome modules! :)

      Thanks Tyler!
The coloured pins are custom “cables” that I’ve had manufactured specifically for the Lion.
I’m hoping to have them ready for distribution in the coming weeks!
I’ll be making proper announcements on social media when they are on their way to retailers.

can you do a tutorial on "Vinca"?

    • @instruo
      @instruo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure can!
Any particular contexts or techniques you’re most interested in?
I’ve been busy with prep for Superbooth lately so I’ve not been patching for camera, but I’m keen to get into some new videos once my schedule normalises :)

@@instruo That would be great :D, thnx. No time pressure :p. I'm searching on you tube for some in depth Vinca tutorials. But non to be found, not even the Divkid has a tutorial. Difficult to wrap my head around this "VCA". Now i use it as a normal VCA, but I have the feeling that I'm missing 80% of it's potential. I don't exactly know how to use it in a different context. Most modules (straight forward & complex) I can find my way. But the Vinca, for me, is difficult to understand, even with scrolling through the manual. But meanwhile I just experimenting with Vinca, and hopefully somewhere in the future there will be a tutorial on this one. Much appreciated :).
