The 5th cover of the NieR soundtrack. Here's my piano cover for "Emil - Sacrifice". There are other versions of this theme in the game, another one being "Emil - Karma", which is a faster paced and adrenaline-filled version. But, I decided to cover the slower and more emotional version.

Good interpretation, sounds like you have inserted your style very well into this, and it works. Very listenable and a worthy addition to any Nier playlist (I added it to mine if you don't mind) so more folks can maybe hear your musicianship and soul.

Because the scenes that it is used in are SUPER sad. I almost wish they didn't do that thing in one of the alt endings. It would have made Emil's actions carry more weight.

The 2nd play through was really mind blowing and extremely sad for me. I really love this game and its stories. The music really touched me and I'd be lying if I say I didn't stay in one spot for more than 30 min just to hear the music 🎶
@@kassandra1018 I feel you. When i played Nier for the first time it just got me hard. The music, the feels, the characters and their progress, the different endings. Oh man i can't count it all. I like Automata yeah. But Nier 1 or Gestalt or Replicant was way more touchy and I felt it way more. The characters alone were outstanding.

Very cool cover! You played it in such a touching way! I love it. I didn't know the game "NieR" until a few days ago. As I am a piano beginner, I always looking for piano covers of beautiful game music on youtube. Is this piece hard to learn or to play?
Upto now I played "To Zanarkand" from Final Fantasy X, "Melodies of Life" from Final Fantasy IX and at the moment I almost finished "Forbidden Friendship" from the movie "How To Train Your Dragon".
Is this the same level or easier? It sounds a little bit easier.

Emil is actually the easiest piece in the NieR piano collections, you should be able to learn this pretty quickly if you can play the other pieces you mentioned. It's only the last part which might give you a bit of trouble but it should be doable.

.......but the shades...........(SPOILER ALERT!!!)..............technically weren't bad. They were just the souls that were removed from bodies to preserve the human species and would be later returned to their new shells. But there were problems......Devola and Popola explain it, and even the Project Gestalt papers in Automata also explain it. I guess what I'm trying to say is the thumbs down couldn't be a "shade" either. I would say more along the lines of those prejudice in the game (which were most of the NPCs and even your own main characters!)

Well yeah , also thank you for niec explanation but you know in Nier those "Bad Guys" are shades and in Nier Automata "Bad Guys" are robots . and since this is cover of OST from the First game thats why I asked "Do you mean shades ? :)
Yep, I know. It's just crazy how the baddies aren't the real baddies. And anyone playing would go through Route A thinking they are doing good, and then the truth comes out in Route B, and then the endings C and D are heartshattering.....absolutely emotionally destroying......
