But I do have a question- what brand is that brown yarn in the bottom right? I am struggling to find any brown yarn and those skeins look pretty big which is also amazing

I would love to see an axolotl round up. My favorite axolotl pattern that I use is one off of Ribblr. I think the name of the creator is something like pixie, plush. I would also like to see a cat round up. I’ve seen several cat patterns, but I really haven’t seen one that appeals to me a lot. I love these yarn comparison videos that you do. It gives me ideas for some new yarns I might want to try.

I crocheted when I was younger (20’s) before children and now as a retirement hobby I took up crocheting again. I re-taught myself on velvet yarn. I am an expert on pulling back and redoing rows but mastered it now, sort of😂. For fun I tried worsted yarn and wow! It’s wonderful not feeling for the next stitch😂. I love the soft, fluffy yarns so rarely use it but when I do, it’s fun! Your reviews are great because I have a habit of buying too much yarn at a time so suffering through thick blanket yarn right now. My new mantra--just buy one just buy one! Have you tried the oyster (clam pattern). It’s free and really cute by HookedbyKati .

I tell myself I need at least a couple Colors, so I can make more than one thing. And then I get close to free shipping… and I have to add a few more things to the cart. It’s not my fault 😂😂. I’m avoiding the blanket yarn right now too, I totally go through phases! Thanks so much for watching!

Hope that your surprise went well and your son enjoyed his party. I made the mistake when my daughter turned 18 of planning a surprise party and instead of telling her the truth of where we were going I said we were picking her cousin up and going to a movie. Then we drove to Culver’s where all our friends and family were waiting and they yelled surprise. Unfortunately she was more excited about the movie that I had said we were going to and could not enjoy her party. Family members didn’t understand why she wasn’t happy about her party. It was an epic fail. Had I told her the truth that could have been a fun day.
Thanks for the yarn reviews. I actually bit the bullet and bought some various plushie yarns and made some fun sea turtles, leggy frogs, an octopus, a bumble bee, a dinosaur and little bear. The bumble ended up looking like a Yellowjacket because I made to many rows and it was not round and plump but it’s still cute. My bear looked more like a pug because of the variegated blanket yarn I chose. Color can really make a difference. I’m having fun though and really NEED to buy that chicken pattern! So far I’ve been using free patterns that had crochet along videos. I do better with tutorials than reading patterns. I’ll have to send you a few pics of my creations over on IG sometime. You gave me the courage to try and make plushies and I’m having fun ❤

Our kids are so hard to predict, right? We told Andy the morning of the party. So he would have time to process. But not so much time that he obsessively worried. It’s such a delicate balance! And as much as family loves him, they don’t totally understand. Sounds like you are an amazing mom!

The Sweet Snuggles and the Parfait XL are in fact interchangeable! I made a rainbow bee and used blue and purple from Parfait XL and the rest Sweet Snuggles- you'd never know without me telling you! And THANK YOU for letting me know about the size difference on the hobbii yarn! I wouldn't mind trying it out, but now I know to not expect an exact size matchup! Ahhhh you definitely need to make a velvet spider!!

I was actually crocheting an axolotl while watching. I've been making crochetbygenna's large no sew axolotl pattern on her Etsy! It works up pretty fast and is a decent size with premier parfait chunky yarn.
Also, I've tried about every Hobby Lobby yarn they have in store, and I would like to know your opinion on the Baby Bee Snugs & Kisses line. I believe it only comes in 6 colors and they are all fairly light. The yarn is pretty soft in my opinion. They also have the Yarn Bee Cozy Occasion line which has a larger color selection but the yarn is super stiff and tube like. I'd choose the Snugs & Kisses line over the Cozy one any day. The yarn is also 30% off every other week :)
I will definitely try out the Snugs and Kisses line next! I tried cozy occasion in my first plush yarn video, and I didn’t love working with it. You’re right, it’s just too stiff! I have that Axolotl pattern, I still need to make, thanks for the input, adding it to my video list!
