My personal favourite are the kurdish archers. With their melee attack and damage they still make a good flanking unit with their fast movement ability to deal a good amount of damage once they ran out of arrows
The Picts "Scathas Teachers" are cool. They are always hidden, no matter the terrain, and can be used for great ambushes. High damage and attack is also very helpful for assassinations of key units in a short amount of time.

I had a friend that said i was crazy for still using gothic warbands in midgame for my ostrogoth campaign, even when i had access to gothic palatinas and germanic sword masters. good to see that someone agrees with me. The fact that early on you can full charge a cohors or legio unit and come out with them completely broken and you lost maybe 10 men depending on how good the javelin toss was is quite simply game turning. In campaigns i'm very aggressive and almost all of my battles are siege battles, and i often use them as front line pushers for when first starting the battles. Too bad they're very susceptible to heavy casualties from towers
No scalled clubmen? No Godan's chosen? The longobards were the most enjoyable faction for me. My tactic was the same almost every time. Western rome was my main enemy and I destroyed 4 stacks with 1 stack on mine. First I would let the romans run into my shield wall scaled clubmen and let them get tired. Once the were fully fighting and exhausted I would let my godans chosen run through the scalled clubmen and into the enemy unit. The result was absolute carnage. every unit would get around 400 to 500 kills per battle. It was glorious.

Darius The Great They only stuggle against high armor piercing units. But the romans only used spearmen against me. To bad the berserk mode was a bit glitched or else the godans chosen would be unstoppable. The berserk mode made them run through enemy units to get to the fleeing one I clicked them on for a short bit.
The horse archers specially they with the parthan shot are a very resolving unit . You can use them at the end of the battle as a normal cavalry too. I was playing as Alani , and i cant make a stack without 4 of them.
I love the Khahyahlim, available to Himyar in their highest tier Military building if you went for Judaism. They've got great armour (which looks amazing), and they're Unbreakable. They make an excellent line. Arabic Horsemen (also available to Himyar) are also fantastic. I love the look of their armour, and they make a good balanced flanking unit. Himyar in general is my favourite faction. Their roster is rock solid, lacking in any real weaknesses, except maybe Skirmishers, they're well positioned, and have an extremely fertile province thanks to the Ma'rib Dam. They also have, imo, one of the strongest Religions in the game. Judaism's research and sanitation bonuses are just so good.
*Godan's Chosen ???* They beat the shit out of every other infantry unit and are nearly unbreakable with a moral of 108 + they have the ability to be unbreakable for 30 seconds and scare enemy units ...
Badiya skirmishers, tanukhid ambushers are so fun to use,same with the desert raiders cheap quality ambush cav with 100 speed so if ambush fails they can hide again
After shogun 2, Creative Assembly reportedly decided that epic historical RTS game don't make enough money and they got rid of the naval battles, explosions, defensive structures and environment destruction. I never LOVEd money so I don't get it, but I understand other perspectives exist.
My favorite units have to be the crossbow units. Archeologist and Historians have found crossbows from this Era and I think it added a new dimension to the game.
Thracian Oathsworn, they helped me carve a path through the entire roman empire, they take high casualties in prolonged combat but they tear it up as flankers.

MAXProd Industry building give me the most money usually,followed by commercial ones and then what city and farm give. (except for that one slavic faction, farm are their only money maker). But industry often give a little too much squalor so i usually specialize province who have ressource who boost industry (like wood) and focus more on commercial. When i get some money saved up, its bribing time with the others factions and i usually focus all my research on civil tech (but i often search the first2-3 military tech just to unlock something to help do my fights early on). Spamming the small gift when you small help too, instead of giving up 2000 gold its often a small number like 700 or 1200, its make bribing factions a lot cheaper to do before expanding too much.
Why don't you love the step xion archers or the xionite spears, wich migrated from the far away planet of Xion to the steppes of central Asia? Unless they got patched severly in the last update they were op...specially the HA unit with 75% missile block chance and having a spear besides pretty decent atack and charge stats. Great video as always. PS: My alltime favourite unit in Attila must be the suebi champions. They remind me in a way of the no-dachi sams from Shogun 2 but actually sturdier. Although not the best unit in game they surely have the potential to bring death upon the enemies of Germania if used right.

I know they are very good though, I'm pretty sure the White Huns are still one of the most dominant factions. Suebi Champions are really cool as well. I'm actually playing a multiplayer campaign right now where my friend is playing with thes guys. Look really good and deadly.

OscarTheGreat Huscarls, Royal Huscarls and Hetaireia Guard all destroy them on the charge, just try it. Even cheap Nordic Axe Warriors can kill almost the entire unit.
