Thanks Jj! I was surprised about the bottom of the creek too- it looms like the waterfall is scouring out the bed rock. The brook trout seem to like it!
Super cool video. I love to fish our small wild trout streams here in western New York, and I’ve always wanted to get a subsurface view of the stream’s pools and runs. Thanks!
Thank you for watching and I’m glad that this video was able to show you an underwater view of Brook Trout! They seem to school up right at the base of the riffle/pool. Western New York is beautiful and I’m sure the trout are too. Tight lines!
Nice video’s. I’ve caught a few of your VT snorkeling clips now. Beautiful and fun to watch. I think also eye opening for a lot of folks who maybe don’t spend much time thinking about what is under the surface of the water resources of our great state. Really appreciate your approach to “fishing with a go pro”. Keep ‘em coming bud. I think you are doing a great job promoting the importance of conservation. Nice work.
“Fishing with a go pro”- I love that phrase! You summed up my goal of my channel- showcase the beauty of the underwater world so that people can see how important it is to protect it. Thank you for watching and commenting. I have some really cool snorkeling videos in the queue that I am excited to release soon!
very nice seeing the brook, all the ones i've ever seen were about that size also in small streams., maybe that's why they stay small but they are a beautiful fish. thnx for the show.
Thank you for watching and appreciating the beauty of native brook trout. They are so cool. Good point on why they don’t get very big in those small streams. I’m sure there are also less nutrients in those high mountain streams that prohibit them growing very big. Happy holidays!
I have lived near the huntington river for 50 years. I have traveled its entire length from the Winooski River to its source in Buells Gore. I don't recognise this area. The bridge is where? I know of no bridges on the Huntington river like that. Inquiring minds must know?
The bridge on the Brook Trout stream is a tributary on Camels Hump- Brush Brook. I just had extra footage from Huntington Gorge that I wanted to add to the end of the video! Sorry for the confusion! Very cool that you’ve lived so long near the Huntington River- it is absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for watching!
@@grahammontague Yes it's a nice river. I know the bridge now. Crossed it many times. Great underwater shots! The water is so clean. You should explore the lower Joiner brook. There are potholes near the bolton access road behind the school and more up higher around the corner. There are also nice pools in the upper Huntington in Hanksville (7 falls of the Huntington).
@@robertgifford1678 thank you for the awesome spots- I will add them to the bucket list for next summer! Do you know if there are any white suckers in the upper Huntington? I went to the White River in the summer hoping to see some but never did… thanks again!
Nothing too big- maybe 7” was the biggest. I know there are some 9-10” ones in that creek but I didn’t see any of them. It’s so cool to see them underwater!
Yes it was ice cold! This was in roughly 2,500 foot elevation but luckily it was a hot summer day so it cooled me off. Next time I’m wearing my wetsuit haha
Haha I’m glad you are watching that guy! Hope you enjoyed the Brook Trout video. I am editing the next video about catching spring salamanders in Vermont!!
Such exquisite water so many beautiful brookies . Put me in a dream world. Thanks.
That is an elegant way to put it- it is a like a dream world watching those beautiful fish. Thank you for watching and I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Hey I'm a local Vermont from Waterbury spend a lot of time in Burlington too Big love from a fellow Vermonter
Thank you for the love- right back at you! Waterbury is a beautiful place. Hope 2025 is a great year for you too!
Great video
Seeing those beautiful brook trout in that perfect water is terrific
Vermont picked a wonderful state fish!!
Thanks Dad. You would have loved snorkeling with them too
@@grahammontague that’s your dad? That’s so awesome
@@hangrykitcat yes, we are each other’s biggest fans! I wouldn’t be snorkeling or making videos if it wasn’t for him!
Great video and the water clarity is fantastic! Thanks for taking us along! God bless y'all
Thank you for watching! I could sit there and watch the Brook Trout swim around all day long (that water is cold though haha). God bless you too!!!
That's some crystal clear water. I like the first spot the best, it looks like an underwater cave. Really unique footage.

Amazing what you see snorkeling in just a couple of feet of water.... Whole new world and an awesome ecosystem. Beautiful video!
Thank you very much! I agree- underwater ecosystems make you feel like you’re on an entirely new planet! I hope you can get out and snorkel too!

How big where the biggest ones you filmed? Hard to tell in the video

They still have the parr markings on the sides, so they are fairly young.
@@TheDeucecoop nice observation! There were only a few without the parr marks (the vertical striped bar colorations on the sides of the fish)
Water had to be cold!

"What is up"? Watching some guy on TH-cam ask his camera what is up 2 days ago. You?
