Okay so if you push the Meta button while watching a video in full screen on the browser, it'll show you the taskbar, and then if you drag the task bar around, it will move around the full screen video. I had a section in this that I cut out about the UI making no sense, I should have kept it in.
Thats not a failure of Meta Quest, ur comparing a $500 device to a $3500 device. sounds like a failure of Apple that people are still comparing a device thats not even remotely in the same price point.
Like I said in the video, I can understand a low resolution but the low bitrate? Dunno why it’s like that. Just don’t get a Meta Quest 3 if you want to watch video
@@itsdanielpaul What do you mean? I watch youtube and netflix on my meta quest 2 and now my meta quest 3 all the time. Granted, they are just regular flat screen, but having the big, virtual display in front of me is super nice. I can make the viewable display as big as I want, as close as I want, or as far away as I want.
The moment an influencer realizes the key difference between a “Pro” focused product vs a gaming focused product - then creates this video to show his revelation lol
1:44 For the screen to go down you in this case...you have to reach not the edges of the screen...but the white bar that appears in the applications menu that is below the screen! and when you click on this white bar the screen will move!
Let me help u out. When you in full screen video. Push the meta button on the right controller. Do Not hold the the meta button on the right controller. The Taskbar will come up. Then move the task bar white line not the screen one. Then it should move. Let me me know if that help
It's not nearly as bad as you're making it out to be. The Virtual Desktop app ($20) allows streaming of anything you have on your PC and has support for all the 3D formats. It looks great! Admittedly, finding 3D movies to play is difficult but watching even 2D movies in virtual theaters, living rooms, outer space, etc. is awesome! There are free alternatives like "Immersed" which allow similar things. Most of the "failures" you're talking about are software related which means they can be improved. The Netflix and Amazon Prime apps need updating because their 3D content is low res. But the hardware is totally capable. Meta just introduced support for Apple's spatial video. It's still in beta but the examples look great! It's only a matter of time before 3D movies on the Quest 3 are comparable if not entirely equal to the Vision Pro. Side note: regarding the Bigscreen app, if by "hassle" you mean installing the app and pressing the 3D Trailers button on the main menu, well, life is really hard, isn't it? :P
I guess I have higher standards than you :p I really don't think having to be so savvy to know to get virtual desktop and find 3D movies on your PC and stream them to your headset is a viable solution. I could do it, but a normal user just wants to pick it up and play them. I hope they're software related problems, it was like everything was set to low quality and I couldn't select "high". You would think TH-cam would have the ability to play at high quality, but it doesn't. And the UI for watching full screen video is just trash and laggy. I think I got spoiled using AVP. btw spatial video doesn't even look great on AVP, it was one of the more disappointing things about AVP. did I say installing Bigscreen was a hassle? Getting 3D videos to watch is a hassle in general. Bigscreen is just random and I had to google it off-headset to even know it existed, but the typical user will probably not even try hard enough to seek it out. Appreciate the comments!
There's a dock button on the MQ3 that creates two handles, one for the dock and one for whatever app you have open. With this method you can freely scale apps like youtube to be large.
I got it moving around but didn’t see a way to scale. I’ll give that a look. I can do it easily for app windows I didnt think you needed the task bar open to move/scale full screen video windows. Ur talking about the meta button, right?
I used Quest 3 to watch 3D Movies and yes it is bad. But holy fk watching regular 2D 1080p movies look amazing. 1:50 you really need to learn to use your Quest 3 before making a video about it. It's really easy to move the display whereever you want. I've only had it for 2 days and figured that out.
The Meta UI makes no sense in most cases including having to click out of the video back to the task bar to move it around, which I just learned thanks to you guys! I've had it since the day it came out but never tried to watch video on it. I think the AVP spoiled me.
A lot of the video they have is just old low quality video, but if you do get a high resolution video it looks decent imo. You can reset the screen in fullscreen by holding down the meta button and recenter.
U have to grab the bottom tab of interface u just need more partice i have a 2 i can easily move it to a conformable location and u can grab the interface and walk with it to another room
A person who does not know how to use an Android device such as Meta Quest 3 should not make a video about a device using it. If you do not know how to download or find high quality 3D videos instead of being handed to you that is your problem. If you do not know how to use Virtual Desktop or Skybox VR properly that is also your problem. You do not even know that there are free apps which you can use to watch a 3D video using your link cable and browse the content on your PC without any hussle . I have downloaded 21 to 40gb copies of each 3D movie and they look great as much as it would look on an AVP . You can boost the resolution of your screen via the oculus app on your PC if that is your problem. Please do not start with the "my standards are higher than yours" BS . You wouldn't be able to tell the difference of an 8k and 4K movie IMHO. I have been using my Quest 3 for watching 3D content regularly since I bought it. And I have a dedicated Cinema room with a 4K projector. Just because it is incapable of projecting 3D movies I am using the Headset for that purpose . And Compared to my dedicated system it is not that far off . And because I am able to connect it to my PC via link cable I am able to enjoy those movies with my HIFI surround sound system while watching them on the Headset... Yes there are things you can do better on AVP thanks to the higher pixel density and better cameras but it is not worth x7 the price and you can not do anything else with it. I am able to use my Quest 3 as a PCVR console as well. And the games look fricking amazing... I see the majority of comments who know their shit saying same kinds of things to you which means you should be saying " Ohhh I see it means that it is not the device it's me" if you were actually a fair person to your self ....
Try watching a 3D movie on AVP before telling me you can't tell the difference in quality. Coming from AVP to Meta was shocking. And yes, watching 3D movies is my problem and the problem of anyone who wants to buy a VR headset for watching 3D movies without hacking the headset. Now they know that they really shouldn't get it if that's what they want. And yes I use Virtual Desktop for Half Life Alyx and Skybox VR if I happen to download something I want to watch because the stock apps are dogshit, and it's WAY too much effort just to be able to sit and watch a movie, even for me and I've been using VR since Oculus DK1. AVP is definitely not worth the inflated price, I'll give you that. Once it comes down in price, if Meta doesn't step up their game, Apple's gonna be the only game in town for watching 3D movies. But still, for gaming, Meta Quest 3 is great, like I said.
Don’t lie bro, I tried the AVP and it’s incredible for watching movies and 3D movies are perfect. The 3d movie trailers on the big screen app made me feel like I was going cross eyed. The quest just isn’t made for relaxing and watching movies or tv shows, the Vision Pro is. Quest is made for games, Vision Pro isn’t.
@@itsdanielpaul Actually I think that for naive people like us, who are can’t really tell the difference between LCD and OLED or etc. stuff happening in screen, we find Quest 2 pretty decent! I have been watching a lot of movies in quest, didn’t felt like I am watching some washed out version of the movie. Ps. I have not tried AVP yet, but I feel whatever I have experienced in the movie part of the quest, it is actually the best part in quest amongst the graphics of the quest home, quest games, PCVR games. Because for 8 K videos the quest doesn’t need to process stuff, just play the ultra realistic Video or movie! And for games or quest home, it needs processing which in-turn is a disappointment in quest 2. AVP will be leap years ahead in terms of GENERATED graphics, but man avoid the recorded video, where both quest and avp won’t process any thing, it must be really the same or 10-20% experience difference.
I tried downloading a high quality video off the internet and watching it on a 3rd party app and it still looked bad. I’ll give that a try! Are u watching 3D movies?

Where are you getting these from? Pretty good isn’t good enough. AVP videos look like they’re on “high”. MQ3 video looks like it’s on “medium” at best

really poor attempt showing off Bigscreen, people are showing 3D movies ALL the time , not running it in small rooms and it looks great
Pls try skybox vr player. It is very good and plays 2d, 3d, etc. It is very high quality
I did try that, it didn’t make the video look better than it did on TH-cam. I think AVP spoiled me
U should go back to avp. It a lil more simple for you @itsdanielpaul
4XVR. Plays back any video, including iso of blu-ray rip. Be amazed at quality.
I tried downloading a high quality video off the internet and watching it on a 3rd party app and it still looked bad. I’ll give that a try! Are u watching 3D movies?
@@itsdanielpaul I don't have AVP to compare to but it sure is best 3D I have seen.
@nextInsiders the 3D on AVP I think is gonna change 3D movies and content forever it’s that good
im getting a quest 3 soon and ive been looking forward to it for quite some time, should i reconsider cuz your not making it sound too good...
I wouldn’t get it for video, for games it’s good! But AVP made it look a lot worse than it used to.
ok, thank you! But videos on small screens are just fine for me as well!@@itsdanielpaul
I'm assuming you used the link cable to pc?
I used it to download my captures to the computer for this video, but that’s it
Vision Pro is purposely designed for viewing content, whereas Quest 3 is for VR gaming. Quit flexing your economic status and complaining about it.
Didn’t I say I returned it right at the top of the video?
dude ur weird moving in video...sjeez act a bit less...fake....
My moving is fake? wtf are u talking about
