The picture of the pub at 3.15 is actually the Bird-i'th-Hand with the Labour Club on the right of it. The Black Horse is directly to the left of the camera. I was born at the back of it.

Farnworth park was beautiful such a shame it has been neglected over the years. Many of the areas of the town have improved but many are in a mess. Where has our pride gone.

I agree Martin, I used to play football here with Chris Dawson, Cyril Lyndley, John Hinks, Peter Mills, and all the other local lads, great days

Used to be a huge newsagents/toy shop on Brackley Street, you could enter either from the front, or the rear door on the market. They had a big duck you could sit on and ride (No, not like that..)

Market Street @ 2:41 & 452: Notice the clean air with the view to the moors.
Not being from Farnworth I remember my first sight of the moors from the top of a bus at Moses Gate, it was Wakes Week about 1967 before the clean air act.
I was amazed as my only knowledge of the area was through the journey from Piccadilly Station & then to Farnworth & back on the No8 bus!

When I was a kid (early 80s), my parents used to take me to a cafe opposite Woolworths on Market Street, and we always sat upstairs near the front, does anybody remember the name of it ?
