    A lot of old childhood memories there. I spent most of my 62 years in Radcliffe, School st & Top o cross Nice video

    Wow just how i remembered growing up - lovely town - replaced by in some cases not so nice buildings preferred the old buildings just shows what a hash we humans have made of it!!

    I started life in Radcliffe in 1946 left in 1956 after seeing the photoes dont want to go back

    very interesting but leaving the place blank means only a very few people will ever comment and engage with you so your losing out on revisits and subs

    I grew up in Radcliffe 71 - 91 then moved away to south Gloucestershire

    Not all the 'then' photos are necessarily better....which is surprising.
    Another thing that strikes me about nearly all the 'then' photos are the lack of trees. There are far more trees everywhere now - not just in streets, but along major roads, in parks and everywhere in between.
    There were literally hardly any trees in many of the old photos. With no trees to filter out the coal smoke, it's no wonder people back in the day died younger - despite more having manual jobs and therefore moving around more. Plus of course everyone smoked back then too.

    Schooled worked and lived there until 1970 ,definitely gone down the pan ,go back occasionally not impressed 🙁
