Personally if I was going to spend that much money I would spend it on a nice original copy, but it was cool to see it opened and all the stuff that comes with it.

In a way, that's an original since the studio outtakes are released in vinyl for the first time...

Fun House is their best, but I'm not one for needing tons of outtakes, the extra goodies are sweet though
Same. Ppl lose SO MUCH money just from buying box sets when they know all they're getting are sum xtra posters and outtakes

I'm curious to know how good the 45rpm remaster sounds (although sound quality is not super high priority with The Stooges) and if the Live At Ungano's has been remastered.
This box set just looks killer! I hope they do a separate release of that 45RPM LP though because I've been in dire need of a Fun House LP to replace my CD copy for a while!

Excellent video, great review. Henry Rollins doesn't have anything on you! Seriously, do some more of these boxset unboxings if you can. It's great to read what you get on the outside of the box but it's even better tp actually see it. Keep up the good work. BTW I had my eye on that Peter Green tribute boxset if you need any suggestions.
That box set is beautiful. Great attention to detail. A fabulous way to celebrate such a killer album.
Wanted this badly. Sold out though...And couldn't justify the $400 on it but now I really regret it bc Funhouse is one of the best albums ever made!!!!!!! Woah the spines of each record to make iggy's face is awesome. Yeah, Rollin's unboxing was legendary. I dont think I have ever seen him that happy in my life!

The vids where you are handling the Mo-Fi records to show what came in....on a cement floor, one fell flat and slid under what looked like a couch....yikes man lol! Hey last time I searched for a hard to find (bowie 5 years box set) took me all the way to Ukraine. I was nervous but all went well.
So I’ve been going back to rhino every day as they have released a few here and there. But I got lucky today at HHV in Germany. Ordered a copy of this. It was 517$ vs the 389 in the states. So for a extra hundred it was worth it to me just too get it.

The video angle is all wrong - the camera should have been focused on the box. And when you showed the posters, etc, you flashed them before the camera way too quickly.
How much did that cost? That is going to sky rocket in value!!! Too bad that you could not get one for your collection and one to sell. The second one would have payed for the first one....ha ha. Still cool that you got it of course. The Dylan box that was huge is now worth about double ...over a thousand dollars. I prefer Dylan but this one is a bit cooler because it is all vinyl. The Dylan was 18 cds. The Cutting Edge.
Metallica has set the bar pretty high for what type and how much content is in the deluxe boxset. Outtakes and demos are ok but I'd prefer some Bluray/4k concert footage

This is a great unboxing. So far, though, none of the unboxings show that 4th side of the main 45 LP. It's etched artwork. Hopefully, someone's going to show everyone that. Also, besides Hank's unboxing, no one has commented on the audio quality of the remaster. That will come later I suppose. Great job, however! I am sure you're going to enjoy spinning that vinyl. It's such a powerful album.

It's a kickass set, but for $400 they should throw in some concert footage on a DVD or Blu-Ray along with some posters, and a digital download.
Some people will love the outtakes, some won't. Personally I would rather let somebody else have them who would enjoy them, since I wouldn't be listening to them that often.
I do hope they release the 45rpm version on it's own. Just how good does it sound?

I am amazed at how punk these guys were, how tough they were. Then as one does, they aged, times changed, and wow. This punk mutation, this noise fest, this monolith of musical anger, angst and furor....is now this. We have come to this. More so...Iggy has come to this. This honest, beautiful creation is a gigantic commercial money grab. Of all the albums I hoped this would not happen with....it's this one. BUT, then there is the collector in me, the record guy....and he says wow this is epic and great! It's amazing. I'm confused. I'm conflicted. I'm almost 60. N
Pretty funny to include Live at Ungano’s, a show that sounds like it was recorded with an answering machine from across the street, in a fancy box-set with ’hi-fi’ credentials written all over it.
Maybe they found a better source tape???

I usually don’t care for material that didn’t make it to the final product. It’s in most cases for a good reason. To be honest I would never buy a set like that. But that’s me. I also see autographed records as damaged records 😂
