For some reason, this situation got me thinking about the 2010s OKC teams and it put something in perspective for me: Russ has never had any semblance of self-awareness and KD has always been extremely self-conscious. It's so fascinating that they were perfect for each other because they were opposite extremes but simultaneously made for a very toxic duo (which is why they never won anything together). KD cared too much about being a good teammate and would often defer to Westbrook, while Westbrook would jack up some last-second shot that wouldn't even hit the rim with an open KD in the corner (look at the end of game 4 of the 2014 WCSF game between the Thunder and the Clippers and you'll see what I mean). But the thing they have in common is that they both are super stubborn and refuse to change. Russ refused to evolve his game, despite being a clear detriment to his teammates, and KD, a grown man, let Draymond shame him to the point that he willingly left a dynasty to play for the basketball equivalent of the New York Jets just to prove that he could win a chip on his own. They both have no one to blame but themselves for the situations they're in.

Although this is the definition of a calculated risk, it might just be worth it considering the West is wide open.

Crazy to think people thought KD would have Shaq and Kobe after math where Kobe got 2 while Shaq got 1. But it is looking like it may never happen... Edit 2/12/23 : Yeah I might have been wrong on this one.
Isiah Thomas once said "The secret of basketball is that it’s not about basketball" How could KD and Kyrie not have have learned this after winning rings? Maybe Chuck was right about the Bus Driver analogy. Lebron and Curry understood it and even showed them the way to get there. But I still think KD can learn from this and win another ring with him being the true team leader.
ik hindsight his 50/50 but it now seems clear that kd should have stayed with the warriors but im interested to see how luka and kyrie playing each other will look like this move by the mavs is definitely a gamble but its the gamble they needed to take
Seriously? Do you even know him personally? Wanting to see the demise of someone you don’t even know. Let me guess you cheered when he got injured vs the Raptors?
Nah, what's happening on the Lakers should make you even happier. KD's Warriors move is the result of what LeBron was doing in the 2010s. KD was the hero that took down LeBron, so he's the villain to the enormous LeBron fanbase. That's all it is. Y'all used to hate Steph in 2015 too. Somehow y'all love him now though.
He really doesn’t deserve no star deserves something this un fair he he was in lose lose situation the moment the 2016 was born stay in okc and see what happens and retire with 1 or 0 Rings and maybe another mvp or join gsw Boston or the spurs if he joined the spurs he would lose because Kawhi would get hurt and leave if he joined Boston what is he gonna do can they even afford him and warriors would ruin his reputation as a player so he chose warriors won a but got a serious injury which meant the warriors could possibly never be the same especially with klay out and kd’s career could have ended so he left for nets so try to make a legacy there with kyrie back when kyrie was not a maniac and kyrie decided to unreliable something that kd needed Steph was reliable Westbrook was not he was not efficient and good in the playoffs did not play well in the 2016 playoffs either it was not just kd so kyrie ruined the nets and just when they were doing good this season kd goes down kyrie demands a trade just for more money and the nets now have a roster that should not survive without kd and at best they will make the eastern conference finals and lose to Boston or the bucks he was in pace to be top 2 in mvp and had a shot now his team will probably finish with the 4th or 5th record when he comes back and who knows what will they do he has done some bad unnecessary stuff but not enough to deserve this
Don’t really matter about how you feel when KD went to the Warriors, but all this happening to him on the Nets was sort of kharma in my opinion. To go from one of the worst decisions an NBA superstar can make in going to a 73-9 team, to having his own team crumble around him, you can’t deny that was the basketball Gods showing their might.
People forget that KD didn’t want Kyrie at first!! He was like his third or fourth option when Jimmy and Leonard were moving around!! Damn shame he’s going to have to solo it!!
@@Lilquan2004 I agree with you. It’s the OP I don’t agree with. KD wanted Kyrie over anybody. Y’all really gonna rewrite history to say KD wanted to play with Kawhi or Jimmy? Yea right!
Once the nets trade kyrie, they need to trade KD back to OKC for Jay will, poku, osmune deing, etc., and like 4 picks. I'd love to see KD hooping with Shai and giddey
I will never understand why KD signed a 4 year contract to play with Kyrie. If you are gonna try to play with him, at least use the LeBron strategy of signing 2 year contracts with opt outs
This is what I couldn't understand with KD. He gave away all his leverage. But he thought he was gonna be there with Kyrie long term and the Nets played him.
DSF was not a bad contract, it was arguably one of the best contract in the league. 3-4 years at 15 ish mill for a borderline DPOY candidate who can really shoot, he's like the ultimate roleplayer
@SomeRandomNigga💙 trading one expiring contract for another when you got one team that's already a contender and the other one isn't, it's a dumb, knee-jerk decision that comes with no immediate gain, which is why the Lakers had no chance at getting Kyrie, Lakers fans are delusional as hell thinking they had a real shot at him, they weren't even in the starting line for the race to get Kyrie at the deadline
There is a report now that Rob actually tried to get Kyrie in exchange for Russ and those 1st round picks but the Nets GM didn’t want to trade Kyrie to the Lakers.
Cant wait til Kyrie’s documentary so everyone can understand his moves. He got offered a contract to where he has to win the ship for his guarantees. My response too would be , you can start looking for trades.
The fact is yes bro, u think Kyrie can be trust after saying he stay in cavs and 2018 he's leaving, he saying he stay with Boston and he leave them to come to nets and play with his "besties", and now after he said he opt in and want to track back with KD in nets and he want to be traded? U think that people can be trusted?
Any un-vaxxed player would miss games in New York. He wasn’t the only player that didn’t get vaxxed, he was just the only one who played in NY. Other than that, he doesn’t miss a lot of games. Not compared to any other superstar in the past 4 years from LeBron, Kawhi, AD, KD, Steph, Klay, and others. The missing games thing is an overblown fake narrative. But all of this will subside because Luka is a media darling and now that Kyrie is helping him win, the media will start sucking him off too. 😒
I think it's gonna come down to whether Kyrie and Luka can make it work on and off the court. If they can, Dallas is in my oppinion going to conference finals for sure, might even be a championship team this year, if not, with a good draft or trade next year absolutely.
My opinions have kinda changed since all these new reports, i'll update them when I grade all the deadline moves at the end of this week. Cant be mad at the Lakers with their offers, the Nets clearly made an effort not to give Kyrie what he wants.

It would not count in the eyes of idiotic delusional man children “fans” 😂 same type of people who say stuff like lebron won a Mickey Mouse ring . 😂same tier of idiots
honestly, the biggest mistake he made was signing that extension cause I don’t think you can blame kd for leaving the warriors and going to the nets especially after the backlash he got, it was just him trying to get another championship so ppl would stop saying that he had zero real rings
Yeah he could’ve been a free agent
in the upcoming offseason just like Kyrie. Now he has to somehow force his way out by demanding a trade AGAIN
I knew SWISHOUT wouldn't let us down with a video
Started getting into basketball recently. Just stumbled upon this video - loved it! Thanks for all the stats, love your energy and I appreciate the way you explain and give back story so it’s easier as a newb like me to follow along. Subbed!!
Video aged like hot milk in the summer sun
i thought u were atleast gonna mention that Ben Simmons is literally the 2nd most Toxic player to have on a Team.
As a OKC fan. Come back home KD ⚡️
Haha how can you see a trade to okc where they are contenders while they're not contenders now
he wasnt drafted there
@@saadjmal Josh giddy chet holmgren and 2 1st round picks. For KD I see that in the realm of possibility. Seeing what kyrie just for traded for. Definitely
@@talyncormier4214 and what's your contending squad if that happens
@@talyncormier4214 KD signed a 4 year extension my guy, Kyrie requesting a trade was PRECISELY EXECUTED, meanwhile KD is worth more plus even if they were gonna trade him why wouldn’t they wait until the offseason?? It’s not like there’s just scrubs on the roster currently. (aside from Ben Simmons)
Remember when the nets were title favorites every single year
Kd: i dont care im leaving too thats what i do!!
Ben simmons: ahhh come on guys i just got here dont do this danm i think my back problem are coming back
It’s wild. EVERYONE trashed KDs rings but isn’t that the point? He showed with a proper team he is one of the best players in world and can fuck a WHOLE league up.
Now he tried to do it by himself, he made a couple bad decisions (Drummond) but! The Ben Simmons signing is one of the dumbest moves in a very long time. We gave away harden….for Simmons??? Like fire the GM for real!
A lot of this falls on the nets as well. They can build the best hypothetical teams of all time but that’s it
Really interested to see how Luka and Kyrie will play together
No defense and two dominant ball handlers so my guess is not good
He be better with sabonis
@@emsj86 Kings aint letting him go like Indy did
I’d say worse version of bron and Kyrie in Cleveland
I predict it'll be a disaster...a beautiful and skillful one though!
Uncle ben to kd: with no kyrie, comes great responsibilty
Guys the GOAT swishout post another banger of a video I been waiting for this but I feel bad for kd is stuck with Ben simmons big yikes 😬
I feel sorry for KD, he's signed on until 2027 with that contact and if he tries to get traded again it practically guarantees a lockout in 2024. But I will give credit to Mark Cuban, he saw Luka was getting frustrated and went in and got something. Although this is the definition of a calculated risk, it might just be worth it considering the West is wide open.
You feel bad for the guy who left a dynasty in OKC then another one in GS?
Yeah, u can't wait until 2024 or 2025 to get superstars for luca BUT the other side of coin is Kyrie maybe just play for like three months I think before he made another decision and maybe another bad decision
Kd can make a 2018 Lebron Run
Yeah that Brunson trade had me scratching my head. This Dallas experiment will be interesting.
What I'm concenred about is there defense, I think thats the biggest issue for the mavs
KD always been a follower, you saw this when he immediately joined golden state after blowing the lead in the series during the WCF the year before.
Crazy to think people thought KD would have Shaq and Kobe after math where Kobe got 2 while Shaq got 1. But it is looking like it may never happen...
Edit 2/12/23 : Yeah I might have been wrong on this one.
More like the opposite of what you just said
Kobe= Curry
KD= Shaq
@@freshcurry9208 KD not getting 1 anytime soon though, probably never again
Curry stay laughing in his golden chair lol... "y'all mf's reallly thought this guy could win without me MOHAHA" - Steph Curry probably
I am just waiting to Warriors win back to back Championship then Curry win again Fmvp like Kobe did in 2009 and 2010 season that's a same scenario 🔥
Aged like milk.
Well..this didn't age well
Great vid as always. To think of who the Nets would up with for Harden and Kyrie - Ben Simmons and a bunch of role players - is crazy
Been waiting on this since the trade request from Kyrie😂😂
Great takes, lots of fun watching the video. Thanks
Isiah Thomas once said "The secret of basketball is that it’s not about basketball" How could KD and Kyrie not have have learned this after winning rings? Maybe Chuck was right about the Bus Driver analogy. Lebron and Curry understood it and even showed them the way to get there. But I still think KD can learn from this and win another ring with him being the true team leader.
ik hindsight his 50/50 but it now seems clear that kd should have stayed with the warriors but im interested to see how luka and kyrie playing each other will look like this move by the mavs is definitely a gamble but its the gamble they needed to take
He getting everything he deserves. Nothing is making me happier rn
Yall dickeaters are the same ones who cry about sports media, yet at every turn suck their bs up EVERYTIME
He really doesn’t deserve no star deserves something this un fair he he was in lose lose situation the moment the 2016 was born stay in okc and see what happens and retire with 1 or 0
Rings and maybe another mvp or join gsw Boston or the spurs if he joined the spurs he would lose because Kawhi would get hurt and leave if he joined Boston what is he gonna do can they even afford him and warriors would ruin his reputation as a player so he chose warriors won a but got a serious injury which meant the warriors could possibly never be the same especially with klay out and kd’s career could have ended so he left for nets so try to make a legacy there with kyrie back when kyrie was not a maniac and kyrie decided to unreliable something that kd needed Steph was reliable Westbrook was not he was not efficient and good in the playoffs did not play well in the 2016 playoffs either it was not just kd so kyrie ruined the nets and just when they were doing good this season kd goes down kyrie demands a trade just for more money and the nets now have a roster that should not survive without kd and at best they will make the eastern conference finals and lose to Boston or the bucks he was in pace to be top 2 in mvp and had a shot now his team will probably finish with the 4th or 5th record when he comes back and who knows what will they do he has done some bad unnecessary stuff but not enough to deserve this
Lol. You happy now?
I thought the bald guy in the beginning was the channel creator, was wondering why the voice didn't sync
The West is wide open this season, and the Lakers missed on that - TRUE 😁 But it'll also be an exciting upcoming offseason/summer
I don't think the Lakers had any chance of making a better trade offer than Dallas did
i cant believe how much suffering i have to deal w as a nets fan
THEY HAD IT THEY WERE LOOKING LIKE A CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM W KD HEALTHY
WHY BRO
Don’t really matter about how you feel when KD went to the Warriors, but all this happening to him on the Nets was sort of kharma in my opinion. To go from one of the worst decisions an NBA superstar can make in going to a 73-9 team, to having his own team crumble around him, you can’t deny that was the basketball Gods showing their might.
“Ben fing Simminons” I’m dying 😂🤣💀
Dam imagine if I was the Knicks
This is so ironic
People forget that KD didn’t want Kyrie at first!! He was like his third or fourth option when Jimmy and Leonard were moving around!! Damn shame he’s going to have to solo it!!
SOLO: HIS ASS LEAVING 😅🤣😅
Yea right
@@officialconch WHO THE HELL IS ON THE NETs NOBODY BUT KD.... Ben Simmons IS ASS AND THE PEOPLE THEY GOT IN THE TRADE IS ASS😅🤣
@@Lilquan2004 I agree with you. It’s the OP I don’t agree with. KD wanted Kyrie over anybody. Y’all really gonna rewrite history to say KD wanted to play with Kawhi or Jimmy? Yea right!
You a straight liar lmaoo
Internet bullied him into joining the warrriors and then bullied him outta there is so hilarious. All he had to do, is DO HIM!😂😂
This is gonna be the ultimate my turn your turn basketball...2nd round exit at best!
I believe next season is the year Ben Simmons will post his workout videos shooting 3s
Once the nets trade kyrie, they need to trade KD back to OKC for Jay will, poku, osmune deing, etc., and like 4 picks. I'd love to see KD hooping with Shai and giddey
*Kyrie trade*
*Pro* : You get Kyrie
*Con* : You get Kyrie
If they kept me on the nets this never happens
Lmao facts
LAL offered 2 1st but NY wanted Max and AR15 too...WAY TOO MUCH!
Injuries dude. Plus he's on his last few years. Might be hard to get a big contract
I was looking for an update earlier today. Thx brother.
Not the worst move, just the Worst luck. Injures happens.
Yes. I don't know why they are blaming him all the time, simply this was the worst luck I've ever seen.
DSF was not a bad contract, it was arguably one of the best contract in the league. 3-4 years at 15 ish mill for a borderline DPOY candidate who can really shoot, he's like the ultimate roleplayer
Durant was going to stay ringless if he kept with Warriors so he had to leave
Lol it’s comments like these why he left. Can’t believe he let online trolls dictate his career choices dude needs to get off twitter.
U think so? If he stay in warriors maybe he got another championship
Funny
@@gilanganugrahfajar5502 nothing he did with the Warriors counts and obviously he knows that hence why he left
“Why did I leave Golden State?”
League was scared of Lakers getting Kyrie 😂
you're acting like they even had a chance at getting him, they dont have shit to trade for him 😂😂😂
@@Massachamp08 2 1sts and Russ and Lonnie and pat bev is sum but ight
@SomeRandomNigga💙 trading one expiring contract for another when you got one team that's already a contender and the other one isn't, it's a dumb, knee-jerk decision that comes with no immediate gain, which is why the Lakers had no chance at getting Kyrie, Lakers fans are delusional as hell thinking they had a real shot at him, they weren't even in the starting line for the race to get Kyrie at the deadline
Y’all has the worst offer on the table 💀💀💀
Lakers fans really thought they had something to offer. More delusional then gsw fans
There is a report now that Rob actually tried to get Kyrie in exchange for Russ and those 1st round picks but the Nets GM didn’t want to trade Kyrie to the Lakers.
KD avoided LeBron 'coz of the *alleged toxicity* happened with the Cavs yet ended up teaming up with the *culprit* instead 👏
Just like a Lebron stan....found a way to make this about KD's move from Golden State instead of Kyrie himself.....lol Gotta love it
It's a ticking clock until the next time kyrie creates a problem and you wish he was off your team
Damn you work fast, I love the content!
Kyrie being faulted for being injured those two years, Covid and a link is wild
You gotta come out with the KD trade vid ASAP
The lesson here is that no-one should listen to Kyrie Irving under any circumstances.
Cant wait til Kyrie’s documentary so everyone can understand his moves. He got offered a contract to where he has to win the ship for his guarantees. My response too would be , you can start looking for trades.
I really hate when people say “You can’t trust Kyrie”
I mean if he starts consistently playing then I´ll give him the keys to the kingdom
Why lol. Is there any reason to believe Kyrie is going to be anything but trouble for a franchise at this point?
& I Dont get how ppl can even questiom that statement like look at what been happening with kyrie since he left bron 😂
KD got the 2 easiest chips in nba history… he deserves this!
Aye man what goes around comes around. KD got KD’d😂😂
No cap Kevin Durant made the worst decision when he ruined his legacy by deciding to join the warriors. 🐍🐍🐍
Since his legacy is already ruined, might as well go back to Golden State for at least one more easy Championship.
Nba is a business
Bron ruined his legacy joining LA, and creating a failed superteam 🤡🤡🤡
i just feel like kd getting karma from the basketball gods after the warriors move😂😂
KD needs to come on home to the Wizards...
Nets:
Kuzma, Barton, Goodwin, multiple 2nd round picks
Wizards:
KD
I didn't watch this when it popped up in my recommended, but I had to look for it after he got traded 😭😭😭
Tell me why it popped up in our recommendations now lmao
Never heard SWISHOUT this pissed off
W video. Idk why I laughed so hard when homie said “Ben fucking Simons”💀
I've been really enjoying your content lately.
Already got this news out good stuff keep it up big fan
I can't blame KD. People SOMEHOW forgot but he was basically bullied out of golden state. He was so hated the crowd cheered when he tore his achiles
Now KD on the suns 😂
This could be like. Kawhi Leonard situation for Kyrie
I was waiting all day for that ALLRIGHT MANNNN
