“Fight from the Inside” was written and sung by drummer Roger. In addition to the drums, he also plays rhythm guitar and bass guitar; for the latter, he borrowed John Deacon’s instrument. The track is built around a jangly guitar riff and is amongst the first in the Queen catalog to focus predominantly on the drums and bass, as opposed to the lead guitars. It is also one of the few songs in the band’s discography recorded almost entirely by one member.
One of my favorite Roger songs, it is so funky and has a great beat. That was the great thing about Queen, all members wrote and wrote different styles. This is Roger singing, he has such a grit and Rod Stewart vibe going on in his voice. Thanks for the reactions!
Still pushing my 2 live Coldplay requests. ASFOS@ River Plate is amazing live. The song is off their album Ghost Stories, which was written during Chris’ divorce from Gwyneth Paltrow. It’s a very melancholy album, so A Sky Full of Stars kinda came out of nowhere as the last song. Chris worked with Avicii which is why it’s a different sound. Viva la Vida@Sao Paulo. Classic song with an amazing crowd. Seriously though, you are worth way more than you give yourself credit for, which is easy to say, but so much harder for us to believe. I know I'm late to the party here. But I'd still like to point out this: Listen to the bass. It's a car engine. It starts with some attempts to start the engine, followed by the engine running stationary.
