I love your reactions to Queen and our Freddie. There will never be a band like them, and young people like yourself can keep this music alive. Just an old lady Queenie here.
Freddie is the GOAT, but many people don't even realize that Brian May is singing quite a bit. He also built his guitar personally, from an old kitchen table. That's why the sound is so unique.
Yep - Brian is my super-crush from teenage years.. and I still love "geriatric" Brian.. I will never forget... every member of this band, in fact, was integral to their success!
I loved your reaction to this! You really need to watch " A Kind of Magic" live at Wembley 1986. There was so much more energy in that performance. Also this is from the "Highlander" soundtrack so they really could not add to the original that was on the soundtrack. Queen live was a whole other beast! Queen always has songs that motivate! They did so many different genres that they really could not be categorized. Thanks for doing Queen again, my friend!
Congratulations on your grades! This was written by Roger Taylor for The Highlander movie. In the movie, Conner MacLeod is an immortal born in 16th century Scotland. During WWII he saves a little French girl from a Nazi gunman. When she asks him why he didn’t die from being shot, his reply to her was, “it’s a kinda magic”. Queen did the soundtrack for the movie. All four of them wrote songs for the movie including Who Wants To Live Forever by Brian, One Year of Love by John, Princes of the Universe by Freddie, Hammer to Fall by Brian and Gimme the Prize (Kurgan’s Theme) by Roger. It’s a good SciFi/fantasy movie with Queen’s music. You should see this live at Wembley. Freddie really rocks it.
Ever since Blunt listened to Bohemian rpasity a year ago ive been hopen he does Hilander soundtrack tunes ( princes of the universe , Gimme the Prize , and who wants to live forever)...
It has been a hot minute since you showed up on my feed, nice to be back and nice to see you doing this great Queen song. This was written by Roger for the Queen Soundtrack for the movie Highlander. I love this song, Freddie really breathes so much life into it. Also the guitars and drums are spot on.
Welcome back... and congrats on the straight A's... sounds to me like you need to react to Freddie's "Time"... wow, what a vocal performance... makes you really cherish every minute we had with Freddie... blessings.
Watched all your queen reaction. LoooooVve it when you do Queen reaction❤ I've just discovered queen this year and I was born in 94. Oh my where was I all these years! And it's enjoyable watching your reaction!
love your reactions to the best band that has ever lived, i have a suggestion for you please share your reaction to the invisible man 12 inch version it is a real masterpiece, much love xx
A’s? All A’s? Bravo! 👏👏👏👏So happy for the epic results of your hard work. Top grades, new baby, love of your life beside you and you get to discover more Queen. The American Dream. Work hard, do what you love, do it well, keep those you love close and rewards will come. Like most Queen songs, I love this one too. Hopeful and thought provoking, I really lifts you up. Hugs ❤️
Blunt, you did as well with your grades as Queen did with this song! Congrats! Love your reaction to this great song. Take care and be well. Hoping all the family is well. Peace.
Fantastic watching Freddie sing with Roger (drummer) and Brian ( guitarist) harmonizing the back up along with Freddie. John (bassist) creating such an amazing funk too. All the songs written for the movie Highlander were written by each Queen member. They are all amazing! Try One Year Of Love-byJohn Deacon, Princes of the Universe- by Freddie Mercury, Who Wants To Live Forever-by Brian May and this song written by Roger Taylor. Check them all out.
I love John’s bass line throughout this song. Live at Wembley was great. The whole ‘86 Wembley concert is worth the 2 hour watch. BTW, congrats on your studies! One more semester! That’s awesome. Missed your reactions
Great to see you with another reaction on Queen music! If you want listen to singing three voices od members of Queen at the same time, please react on Return trip( Let me live) ❤
Song after song! 4 guys do this! Their music is magic. Strong full sound music each so large and different. the kind of music they reach your feels. What i especially love is all the little instrument pieces that they interject into the rhythms. The musical surprises!
Congratulations on getting all A's. Proud of you. Queen is one heck of a band. Freddie is a legend. You can never go wrong with them. I agree with the comments below in regards to reacting to the live version of this song from Wembley: as awesome as their official videos are, their live performances are even better. I know that you reacted to the official video of Under Pressure, but if you can do the live version from Wembley (the 5:56 minute version) that would be great. His interaction with the crowd is amazing. Another One Bites the Dust live at Wembley is amazing and White Queen live at the Odeon. Again, congratulations on getting all A's and hope that your family is doing well.
Standing O for your grades, young man! Congratulations! As there are probably lots of comments below-this song was part of The Highlander soundtrack-and the songs that made it into that movie-dude, you wanna hear those. Especially "Princes of the Universe" and "Who Wants to Live Forever". The movie was kinda hokey, but the soundtrack was boss, like everything else Queen did. Congrats again!
Great that you are back!! Missed you a lot. Love your reaction; this is a fantastic song, but you really need to do the live version - heaps more energy and depth. They all shine, but John on the bass is awesome. And big congratulations on your grades, well done!
Queen was the soundtrack of my childhood. The band were genius at expressing every kind of emotion into song, lyric & music. They remain on my life playlist at the number one spot. RIP Freddie. Love your channel & reactions. Thank you for loving & appreciating them also. Never let the music die.
I realize that you don’t know me, but I wanted to say to you young man that I’m very proud of you and getting great grades while raising up a family in a leadership position. Your dedication is very commendable. May you continue on a positive trajectory to your dreams.
Written by Roger for the 1986 Highlander movie soundtrack! All Queen members wrote a song for the film 👉 PRINCES OF THE UNIVERSE (Freddie) WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER (Brian) ONE YEAR OF LOVE (John) DON’T LOSE YOUR HEAD (Roger)
Knew I'd find you here Ha Ha! You'll like this one: the Tarot Astrological Correspondence for The Magician is Mercury. Now here's where the fun begins, go look at the image of The Magician card and compare it with Freddie Mercury's famous pose (statue)… It's a Kind of Magic ; )
Can relate to your last comment. Yes I have like everybody have had down times and times where motivation has been blurred but when they come around I flip on some queen and it clears my head and put things in perspective. Thank you queen, they reach into people's hearts that's one of the many reasons they were so great R.I.P FREDDIE THANK YOU
Background vocals were done by Freddie Mercury and Roger Taylor (Queen's drummer) for this studio version. Brian May (Queen's lead guitarist) did not sing background for this mix though he often joined with Freddie and Roger to perform background vocals and did join singing with Roger for the background vocals during live performances. A Kind of Magic” was written by Roger, for the film "Highlander" (Queen composed the score for the film). "Highlander "is a 1986 fantasy action-adventure film that chronicles the climax of an age-old war between immortal warriors, depicted through interwoven past and present-day storylines. The phrase “a kind of magic” is used in the film by the Highlander warrior, Connor MacLeod (played by Christopher Lambert) as a description of his immortality. Roger liked the phrase so much that he used it as inspiration for the song. There are other references to the film in the lyrics: “one prize, one goal”; “no mortal man”; and “there can be only one”. Roger wrote the melody and chords for the version that appeared in the film, which Brian May (Queen's lead guitarist) described as “quite lugubrious and heavy”. Originally it was used at the end of the movie, over the closing credits. Roger stated, "It was a grander concept with a much more broken-up tempo. Freddie really believed in this song and reworked it as a single.” While Roger was on holiday, Freddie, who had some different ideas for it, turned it into a “dance-orientated” hit single. He composed a new bass line, added instrumental breaks, and changed the song’s order to make it more chart-friendly. Then Freddie and David Richards produced a new mix. The song was still credited only to Taylor. While Taylor’s version is used at the end of the film, Freddie’s version appears on the album and video. I actually prefer Queen performing the song live. Check out the performance of "It's A Kind Of Magic" at Wembley in 1986 - th-cam.com/video/c2_xWTSyCuU/w-d-xo.html
Missed you … congratulations on your grades ✌🏼 Roger Taylor wrote this great song Love Deaky’s bass and Freddie … well ALL of them. TY for your fantastic reaction 🥰♥️
Blunt! So nice to see you again! Congrats on your excellent achievements! According to the Benoit Clerc book, Queen All The Songs (the story behind every track), this song was originally written by Roger Taylor for the Highlander film but was reworked by Freddie when Roger and Brian went to Los Angeles to attend the spotting sessions for the film music. Freddie retained the basic melody but gave the song new lyrics and used Roger's original lyrics as the basis for One Vision, essentially separating the melody from the words and turning one song into two. Roger approved of the rearrangement when he returned as it was better suited for the release as a single. So, the version used in the film over the credit roll was Roger's version and the album/video version was Freddie's rearrangement which had more of a pop feel. Freddie is credited for lead vocals while the backing vocals were credited to both Freddie and Roger. Roger is credited for the writing credits of A Kind of Magic since it was originally his idea while Queen is credited for One Vision.
I love your queen reactions, thank you for this. It's like listening with fresh ears. Have you reacted to Freddie and Montserrat Caballe singing Barcelona? If you haven't, I hope you will x
Any time you hear that high-pitched falsetto voice, that'll be the drummer Roger Taylor. Dude can REALLY get up there!! I think he usually does the higher harmonies with Brian May to help fill out the sound a bit.
I love this one too. I was wondering (I looked, couldn’t find it) If you ever reacted to March if the Black Queen, some early Queen basically metal before metal had a name great song. So cool. (congrats on your grades. ^_^
Freddie was the most amazing person in music history. Period. Agree 100% I was introduced to Queen on the RADIO>>>first runs.
Me too! I was 16 when I saw them live in 1975 in NY Yeah, don't bother to do the math, I'm a Granny Queenie 💙🌈👑
@@deborahallen3318 never go to see them live. YOU are SOOOO lucky to have that experience.
@@leed119 I was very lucky and it was only $7.50 a ticket, awesome decade to go to live concert.😎👑

He also likes to use a lucky coin to play the guitar with. But the drummer, is it Mick? Taylor, does most of the high pitched harmonies.

I thought Brian May's guitar was made from a mantle piece from a fireplace.
