- Introducing the latest - and by far the newest - car in the fleet. This is my Tiger Eye Pearl 2021 Acura TLX Type S with Orchid interior. It has the high-performance lightweight Y-spoke 20" wheel package and a 3-liter, 355-horsepower turbocharged V6 with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

My friend, I’m super excited for you! This car is a stunner, especially in the color scheme you chose. Love the sound of the exhaust and that turbo V6! Lol @ the plastic. Only you. Wasn’t sure you’d even be removing it 🤣
All that plastic is now in a drawer in my bedroom! I might put it back on for shows and special events! Haha
Keep an eye on the mirror puddle lights. My driver already went out. It's a known defect.
Once you own a Acura with a AWD system you don't want to own anything else, you'll love the handling and the way it grips the road during the dry season, and how it just cut through the snow in the winter, down side is tries and ⛽ mileage, but it's worth every penny I've spend over the last 7 years now my SH-AWD is up to 186,100 miles today, the AWD system is flawless.
@@TysonHugie LOL. Found someone more OCD than me. My 2021 Type R has every touch surface covered. Only driven on sunny days. I saved the window sticker but that's it.
It's great to see the absolute joy you have taking ownership of this car. I get not wanting to have the dealer prep it. You wanted to keep everything. Forget the haters saying the car is too heavy and won't win a drag race. This is not what the TLX Type S is about. The car design is sweet and sexy. The V6 engine purrs and puts down really good power. The SH-AWD is excellent. If it brings a smile to your face every time you get in the car, then it is worth every penny you paid. @@TysonHugie speaking with SCT and Diablo guys I know from my over 30 years of tuning this car even w a tune down pipe bigger turbos and BOV will struggle to run 12 s. This car is a complete failure from Acura on the performance side everything else A plus ➕... I still have yet to see one run 13.90s at the track .that's sad for 50k plus the best to Date .14.22 102 mph..I had a down payment I was so excited I could not believe how it stopped and handled and the features blew me away ... then ... I took it on the highway and thought there had to be something wrong ? Maybe a special key ?like dodge ? I changed the knob... still the car was awfully underpowered on the highway so much so I felt sick in my stomach waiting all this time . Remember 355 HP at the crank on a 10 spd Trans and SH AwD equals BELOW 300 hp at the ground .. sad for a 2021 turbo 6 .

Congrats! Pre-ordered the same car (but with Ebony interior) and I'm still waiting. Mine has been in a city 250 away for 2 days and they tell me it will be at least another week before it arrives. I'm about to lose my mind. And now they tell me my Y-spokes are backordered. So I'm going to live vicariously through your Type-S for now, lol.

I didn't go through formal ordering channels, but it was about 6 months. I first communicated my preferred color combo in February.

Congratulations, Tyson! I had always wanted a 3rd Gen TL Type S or an RSX Type S ever since I first got my license back in high school, but it just wasn't feasible. After seeing Acura re-release the Type S name in the 2nd Gen TLX, it felt like a big wave of nostalgia and I hope to be getting one soon by the end of this year or in the upcoming 2022 model year. If you don't mind my asking - how was the purchasing experience? Were there any additional markups on the car?
No markups, I just paid straight MSRP. The dealer was great to work with!

So happy for u, I’m the same way when I purchase my 2020 mdx odemeter only 9 miles 2, I told dealer I want all plastic wrap, I have only 18,000 miles on it now awesome reliable car, I wouldn’t choose to buy any other brand car Acura the nest.

Living my Honda dreams through you once again. Thank you for letting us hear it. Is the redline 6250rpm . Does this have vtec on the exhaust valves. If so is the changeover audible
I'll have to defer to a tech expert on some of that! But yes it looks like the redline is where you mentioned. In my experience with the ILX and other models, "i" VTEC is not as tangible of a changeover as in older Honda/Acura models.
