So happy to see so many of you enjoyed the experience as much as we did. The whole factory tour was a lot more in-depth than we ever anticipated. We feel like we have a from-the-ground-up understanding of the day-to-day equipment we will trust to take us around the world on our sailboat safely. Hopefully, you do too!
If you find yourselves in Havant, England stop into the Lewmar showroom and tell them we said hi. Or, if you can’t make it there and have questions or feedback on anything Lewmar, they want to hear from you! You can find all their contact and product information on their website here: lci.ink/Wynn

You probably noticed the age of some of the employees, there was a time in America when lifetime employees had great pride in their work and company, however when you fire or retire people early, the younger generation no longer has the devotion to a company nor expects to retire there.

That was a great video. I used to work for Lewmar. I ran the Lewmar Marine division that operated in Canada. Our office/warehouse/rigging shop facility was just west of Toronto. Our neighbours were C&C Yachts and host of others. Lewmar owned Navtec (rod rigging and hydraulics) in those days (mid 1980s to early 1990s). We built rigs, repaired and serviced Navtec Hydraulics. I built some rigs for very large boats - 12m Class etc. I also sold and serviced Lewmar products to some very large catamarans such as TAG (became ENZA). TAG was almost 100ft and was sailed solo. It was built by Bombardier in Montreal. I used to travel to Havant several times a year. The winch factory was the first fully automated sailboat hardware facility in the world. Lots of great products were designed there and and manufactured by a staff who were (and still are) totally focussed on the best possible products and service for their clients. I’m glad you’ve chosen Lewmar as a supplier for your new boat. You will not be disappointed!!

You're virtually on my doorstep. If you'd stayed on the bus beyond Windsor you'd have gone just half a mile from my house. But admit the error in your intro! That was actually a ton more interesting than I expected! Thanks for including us in your tour. I watch a few narrowboat channels as well, and just tonight I watched one from a bit over a year ago and have to post a note for you to be on the lookout for a bit of kitchen equipment. I've never heard of it before, but it must be a thing in UK as she talked about it like it was a normal thing. Something called a Thermal cooker? you heat it up on the stove top with your food in and then seal it up and it cooks on retained heat on the countertop. She did a curry and rice and it cooked the rice on top of the curry, sat aside in their boat all day using no power. Coolest thing ever and handy not to use too much power but with the ease of a slow cooker. They are vegetarian. Anyways - it is Fran and Rich on Floating our Boat. This is the link for the episode I watched and the cooker was somewhere around 8:40. Just something to maybe look at while in the UK and see if you may want one.
    th-cam.com/video/zcXjOugkyAc/w-d-xo.html
I've seen her use it in an earlier episode, but it wasn't really explained, just referred to and I hadn't realized it wasn't plugged in at all.

The original castle was built in the 11th century, however during the two centuries after, Henry III built a luxurious royal palace within the castle during the middle of the century, and Edward III went further, rebuilding the palace to make an even grander set of buildings in what would become "the most expensive secular building project of the entire Middle Ages in England. After surviving the English civil war period, Charles II rebuilt much of Windsor Castle with the help of the architect Hugh May. After a period of neglect during the 18th century, George III and George IV renovated and rebuilt Charles II's palace at colossal expense, producing the current design of the state apartments.

Woohoo you were in my country. You should do a meet up here one day. Would love to meet you both.....hope you had a great time. I escaped the cold spell and went to Thailand! The new boat looks so amazing already. What a brilliant fun episode guys. Fantastic work.
