- Today we have a Karen Ibasco Full Performance Reaction to her Miss Earth 2017 journey including her: superhero moment, national costume, introduction, hashtag challenge, swimsuit and question and answer (q and a). Karen Ibasco who was representing The Philippines ended up winning the Miss Earth 2017 crown at her home country.

did you know before you become as official candidates of Miss Earth you have at least planted 100 trees unlike the other pageants who focus on looks that is why Miss Earth is relevant, truly,unique beauty with a cause.
She's undoubtedly one of the most intelligent beauty queens the Philippines has ever made, kudos to MPE and ME for crowning worthy girls.
Karen Ibasco was my professor's classmate at University of Santo Tomas ( also my alma mater) as both took their masteral degrees. No wonder her answer is somehow scientific yet very relevant, very eloquent during the q and a for Miss Earth 2017.
Karen Ibasco is a physicist and is quite knowledgeable about environmental issues and the like. She speaks with conviction because of her scientific knowledge and her communication ability. ✅

Miss Earth 2017 is actually one of the best editions of Miss Earth when it comes to production and format. I wish you could watch the whole show to give a glimpse that Miss Earth also take production value seriously. It was just in the past two years, Miss Earth prioritize the safety knowing that the pandemic situation is ever changing. I hope that this year, they will be able to conduct an actual pageant because I miss it so much!
Miss Earth is quite a challenging pageant. You can't squirm yourself out of the Q&A. The Q&A in this pageant ALWAYS has a correct answer.
Like Catriona, I'm so confident that once she entered Top 5 and gave a microphone, she will win the crown. She delivered and evern surpassed expectations. 😍
Karen Ibasco is one of the most bashed Filipina beauty queens ever, yet she remained unbothered and stayed true to herself. She is one of the most intelligent and true queens ever though! Her wit and her commitment to during her reign and even now is beyond amazing! Such a role model!!
Her brilliance, accomplishments and awards as an ambassadress of mother earth speaks how queen she is. indeed, a purposeful queen.

Had the privilege of spending time with Karen during our young adult years in church and she's truly intelligent, beautiful, and talented. She's truly a woman of substance. She's really also such a hard worker and she deserves every success, not just the crown.
Karen is quite possibly the most bashed Miss Earth by people who don't understand that Miss Earth isn't a pageant that's entirely focused on physical beauty but on being a spokesperson for the Earth. Good thing that Karen is also one of the most unbothered queens ever; she knows she isn't the most conventionally good looking, she knows her win wasn't as warmly received as many, but she doesn't care because she knows what she is able to bring to the table.

I watched it live, and me and my friends are really shouting during Her Q n A and her wit!!! Shes is so smart!
Here are some notes regarding Miss Earth pageant, Luis.
1. National Costume is only one of the pre-pageant activities hence not being highlighted much unlike in Miss Universe; and also not a pre-requisite to clinching semi finals position (am referring to the Medal Tally).
2. The warrior costume is not rated FYI, so it has no bearing at all in the judging criteria. In fact, this type of costume is asked by the organization for contestants to be made of recycled materials.
3. Scientific knowledge and interview skills are given a lot of emphasis and importance in Miss Earth.
Overall, this is a superb first hand reaction of Miss Earth pageant. You are absolutely correct that being a good spokesperson is the true core of the pageant itself. On top of it, character is a must too.

Unfortunately in the Philippines a home country win is considered “wrong” and is not celebrated. She was no doubt deserving, but the bashing was relentless. People look back with more perspective now, though, and she’s more appreciated now, particularly given that she has been consistently “queenly” all these years.

Daoat kasi pag alam na magaling kandidata natin, dapat ay sa ibang bansa ganapin ang Miss Earth. Nagawa na nila yun sa Austria dati. Dapat sa Vietnam noon, ewan ko bat di natuloy. Every other year tulad ng Miss Universe ay sa ibang bansa ginaganap. Ang Miss International ay based sa Japan pero bibihira silang mgpanalo ng Haponesa. Kahit deserving, may masasabi pa rin sila na hometown decision. Puede nmn sa mga SouthEast Asian countries ganapin tulad ng Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia.

Miss Karen Ibasco is a Smart/Intelligent woman ( I think if I'm not mistaken - she was Cum Laude when she Graduated with her University Degree at the University of Santo Thomas, Manila, Philippines) that's why no surprising, she can deliver & an answer any question throw at her - I read somewhere (correct me if I'm wrong) that at one point - she teaches at UST School of Physics...A worthy queen indeed.
