👋 My name is Ryan & at age 30 I quit my day job. I used to work full time as a Sr. Front End Web Developer (I quit this job), & part-time as an adjunct professor teaching web development at a local university (I kept this job - I like teaching!). Both of my day jobs were awesome! Started my Redbubble and Teepublic accounts, applied to Amazon, got denied 2 times, so reapplied again, no sales yet, but for sure it's a great adventure! Does it work out? I don't know, but I'd rather create designs and be creative than do what I usually used to i.e. play games/watch netflix. For sure wanna listen to the phone case interview! Keep it up man

Ryan, when you create your titles and bulletpoints, do you include words like tee or tshirt?
If so, doesn't it confuse buyers when they search for a phone case and amazon will send your listing to the last places?
I let Amazon automatically append the product type to the end of my title, so no, i dont include those words
thank you for this video, I have been on level 10 for some time and I still get a lot of designs rejected and they do not explain specifically what I do wrong. I have asked several times for a complete explanation stating that I can not fix if I do not know what is wrong. They just refer me to the guides and threaten closure. Can you do a very detailed video of how to ensure that designs do not get rejected please?

Have you considered buying an account? Its not the most kosher thing to do but the account i bought is still active after 3 years.

The most impressive thing was that he generated that level of income with almost no ads. One thing I would push back on is the notion of publishing to all markets and all products up-front. If your design gets rejected, you will incur a rejection on every market and every product type, so that could be 50+ rejections all at once. Additionally, publishing into foreign language markets manually means your listing text will be in English, whereas Merch will actually (eventually) publish your designs to foreign markets and translate them.
Yes I play is suuuuuper safe with my "fringe niches" so very low chance of rejection. Also I think 64 rejections of a single design counts as 1 rejection but I could be wrong 🙂
@@RyanHoguePassiveIncome yup. I've just been burned a bit with Merch, so I tend to look at risk versus reward and expected value. The benefit of initially publishing so broadly is there, but since most of my sales are US tees, it's not a huge benefit to do right away (especially since Amazon will eventually publish to those markets.) But even a tiny chance that a slew of rejections leading to account suspension tilts the math strongly against (and I've given up trying to figure out Merch's internal account monitoring/health scoring systems...it's opaque by design, could change arbitrarily over time, etc) But that's just my PTMD (post traumatic merch disorder) kicking in.
When I first started uploading my designs I would only put them on standard shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies. Than I got feeling bold one day and started just uploading like you to every option. That was until I opened my MOD account and had a shitton of rejections. Scared me back to my original method real fast. Amazon opened my account in tier 1000, for whatever reason, but I'm afraid of them closing it from getting mass amounts of rejections.
Yeah it sucks when you submit a design and see 60+ rejection emails 😅

Printify is the way to go.
Thank you for the transparency. Is the net also after taxes or before? Also is Amazon still Gatekeeping Merch pretty hard? I have been selling on Amazon for years now and continuously get denied. So if I can't get approved for Amz Merch, then makes no sense to get your course? Also was that ad spend across ALL your designs?!!
It's before taxes 👍 and yeah, it's still really hard to get accepted, unfortunately
If you're part of the amazon influencer program you'll have like a 90% chance of getting accepted into merch

Can you place the designs on any market place? What happens when you want to receive the money? It's automatically converted to your currency and sent to your bank account?
Amazon Merch supports 7 marketplaces in total, yes they will convert to your currency and pay you 👍

1:25 Beware of doing this. I know this is different for everyone, but I hadn't uploaded for a couple years so made new design recently with many of these products checked and got 27 rejections on my account over a trademark I didn't even violate (my text was off by one word). I couldn't even contend those rejections. Now I only upload one product per design and later upload the rest when it's approved.
FWIW i dont know anyone that lost an account for a few rejections over recent years. I only know people losing accounts over IP infringement on big brands

If you could create and upload one design every five minutes on average, it would still take you eight years to populate 200,000 designs working Monday through Friday eight hours per day. Something isn’t mathing here😂

I have an automation script in Adobe Illustrator and I use that with Merch Titans Upload Automation bit.ly/MechTitansAutomation I have been using since 2019 with no problems 👌

Amazon do not allow the packages shipped by print on demand companies to have a name and address on packaging of print on demand company. They want the information on packaging to amazon seller's information. How do you get around that ? Thanks in advance for answering.
