Dan's cover is a cover of Disturbed's cover of Simon and Garfunkel.
I aggree with you, his voice tone is wonderful and the emotions he portrays touch us. And those belts that he sings...amazing.

Dan says that he hears the metal version in his head when listening to songs. I am not sure what you have reacted to by Dan, but she of my favorites are: metal - Bring Me To Life, opera - Nessun Dorma, Disney - I'll Make a Man Out of You from Mulan, Phantom of the Opera - Music of the Night.

This is a Simon and Garfunkel original 1966. Dan did a great version however I'm an old guy from the 60's and the original remains for me the best version ( perfect harmonies), prob cause it brings back memories from days past. Sry bout that..To me Dan V and Disturbed are power versions but S&G hit my soul and emotions. This is personal though!

Listen to disturbed doing this cover. Very chilling.
Again he did a good job on this cover! Spot on. But Disturbed does have a better rendition of it.

I grew up with Simon & Garfunkel, and I really liked their original of this song, but Disturbed took it to another level for those that weren't listening to the warning S&G gave. Dan did a decent job covering Disturbed's cover.

Don’t get me wrong, he did an incredible job. But… It is a direct copy of the Disturbed version of this song. Disturbed made the unique and creative musical arrangement this way and they created the vocal tone this way. Dan is basically doing an imitation of Disturbed. And Disturbed’s version is the only one that Paul Simon, of Simon and Garfunkel, has actually promoted because he thinks it’s the only cover that is better than the original. In Paul Simon‘s words, he said that the original version that he and Art did was a warning and the version that Disturbed was the anger at a warning that went unheeded. If I hadn’t heard Disturbed’s version years ago, I would agree with you about Dan’s version. But I have heard greatness with Disturbed, and Dan’s cover is an unoriginal, Great Value knock off. Dude does have talent, though!
