Heyyyy howdy neighbors! 👋🏻 Agree this bottle a tough buy at ~100 bucks especially for something less than a year old and seemingly experimental. Perhaps our Minnesota bogs are expensive to harvest from or something 🤷🏼♂️...Nonetheless worth seeking out a free sampling at a local spot sometime for sure.

Kalyn, sediment in a bottle is often a sign of a good bottle because it indicates minimal to no filtering. The sediment is usually charred wood from the barrel that shed into the spirit over the years. It's safe to consume and is essentially the same as activated charcoal which many people consume for health. For example, Rolling Fork rum bottles often have a small PILE of sediment on their bottom that shows they not only eschew chill filtering but even most mechanical filtering. I've had Ardbegs that were essentially "crunchy" from the little bits of barrel char floating in that batch and it lent an interesting campfire note to the spirit. So it wasn't accusatory, Dustin seemed excited because he knew what it meant to have that sediment in his glass.

You are not wrong. I live on the Northwest coast of Washington. Everything is covered in moss.
Their current whiskey is aged under a year in 5 gallon barrels. Its well made, but their pricing is high. I figured you guys might be from my area, i saw the studio distilling and the keepers heart bottles.

I like how you used the Eric Bristow (darts player) method to take a sip there, the grip obviously makes a big difference to the flavour. There should be some kind of penalty system for making double digit innuendos in a review, maybe you have to drink some Minnesotan bog water or something..only kidding they're the best bit tbf.

Don’t fall for the conspiracy theory that Mystery Mondays are scripted! Believe me. I have been witness to Dustin successfully guessing a mystery whiskey tasting at our cabin. He’s got talent….some sort of whiskey database brain!
