    I have two SH-AWD vehicles and it really does wonders. The trick is to actually accelerate through a turn and the system makes the car noticeably rotate. Instinct for most people is to brake through a turn which will make any FWD-based car squeal and under steer. I’ve even broken the rear loose/slight oversteer which is impossible in most FWD cars.

    So I’ve lived with the new touch pad interface and while it’s better than what Lexus had, they should have given us the choice of both control and touch screen. Using Apple car play and android auto I rarely get to experience the touch pad in the native Acura system. It’s just disappointing that the Japanese are so stubborn with these things now, when europe has finally realized they should give both input options

      Is it really the big of a deal? I kinda feel like for 60 year olds+ that struggle with technology then sure it's an issue. But if you're 40 or younger I would assume the true touch tech would be easy peasy to adjust to. I drove the RDX for 2 days as a loaner and it didn't seem to be a biggie.

      @@aceofspades6667 I'm 22 and work in IT, I've retrofitted every car I've owned to remove the touchscreen. Physical knobs and buttons will forever be easier, more ergonomic, and just plain better than touchscreen.
      Even when touchscreen UI is really well done like in a Tesla, it still just sucks. Cranking a volume knob will always be superior to moving a slider.

      The '22 Lexus NX ditches the touchpad / mouse and goes touchscreen-only, along with the new US-designed Lexus Interface infotainment system.
      Akio Toyoda said that he had to fight an uphill battle to get rid of the outdated Lexus system(s) and interfaces because TMC, as a whole, is very conservative and tends to stick with decisions no matter how bad they were.

How would you then describe the legroom in an A8L or something similar? It looks like it may be better than the X3 as far as rear seat room is concerned. I’m going to check it out but I’m not thinking I’m going to like it. I feel it needs more horsepower or maybe a Type-S mode with more horsepower. It's just a shortcut to the Sport-mode transmission logic *in other dynamic modes.* As far as the upshift response to the paddles, it depends on g-force, and the transmission will ignore an upshift request in a hard cornering situation where the momentary "shift shock" might upset the chassis.

    The new Lexus NX doesn't have a touchpad at all. It has a 14 inch, touchscreen and, for about the same price as this RDX, you can have it (along with more horsepower, and much more torque).

    • @drivescene6747
      @drivescene6747 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      More horsepower and more torque but still not quicker than the RDX. Numerous magazines have proven this.

    An Acura RDX A-Spec with Goodyear Assurance tires?? Thats a big L for a premium sport crossover. Could’ve at least put on some better tires for a “sporty” car

    Those red gauges are out of a 2003 rsx! At 50k you are starting in MDX pricing. Nice vehicle but the infotainment function has to go and the styling reminds me of a Nissan's Murano
