Welcome back, this is Dan Havey with CF Ninja Hacks. Today, I'm addressing a question from Sam Newton in the ClickFunnels official group. Sam reached out to me for advice on having two pop-ups on a page: one for an exit pop-up and another for an order form. ClickFunnels suggested using click pops, but I have a few different methods to show you.
First, let's discuss how to set up a click pop. You need to create a separate page with the order form and grab the click pop code from there. This method can be cumbersome, as click pops have to be on a separate page and integrated back into your main page. Although I've used click pops for things like legal pages, I find them difficult to set up and not always reliable.
Sam's goal was to have an exit pop that appears when the cursor moves off the page, and an order form pop-up. I tried setting this up by having two sections within one pop-up: one with the exit message and another with the order form. With a bit of JavaScript, you can hide the exit message and show the order form when a button is clicked. However, if the order form shows first and then the exit pop triggers, the order form remains visible, which might be acceptable if you want one last chance to get the order form in front of them.
An alternative is using buttons to show different rows within the same pop-up. Each button click would reveal its corresponding content. This works, but it's not ideal for an exit pop scenario. Instead, I prefer not to use pop-ups at all for this setup.
The best approach, in my opinion, is to create a section that looks like a pop-up but behaves more flexibly. This faux pop-up can slide down and scroll within the page. You can set your actual exit pop-up separately to trigger when the user attempts to leave the page. This way, you can manage your exit intent content separately from your order form.
For the faux pop-up, you create a new section with the order form and style it to appear like a pop-up. It can slide down when a button is clicked and slide back up to close. This method allows for more customization and better control over your pop-up's behavior and appearance.
So, there you have it: multiple ways to handle pop-ups on a ClickFunnels page, with my preferred method being a faux pop-up section for better flexibility and control. If you have any questions, just let me know.
Hey Dan, for Clickfunnels 2.0 I'm trying to have my Opt-in be a popup to show right away. And can't be exited til it has been Opt-in has been submitted. It will actually send them to another page when they have submitted.
I have found the code to get rid of the "X" simbol at the top right corner of the popup. But if someone clicks outside of the popup, the popup will disappear.
I've spent hours in the source code trying to solve for clicking outside of the popup and have no luck.
So my opt-in pops up on page load, does not have a "X" button, but can be exited by clicking outside of the popup and I want it to not be able to be exited.
Any suggestions?
IF the popup opens on page load and MUST be filled in and Submitted, and they are taken to a different page... Why use a popup at all. Just put the optin form into a section and have it animate on page load, dropping down from the top of the page. You could put an image as the page background that looks like a real page.
@@CFninjas Smart. I understand - You make alot of sense. You just made this so much more simpler for me! Thank You.
