Always always do these guys live actually any Australian singer or band always do live because they just that good live. Your question - where did Jimmy get so much soul? Recent years he has shared more about his early life. Not sure how he survived some of it and became the wonderful person he is today. Well, his family probably had a lot to do with it - they are amazing and all seem to be talented musicians too. John Farnham just seems to be able to sing anything thrown at him.

    You ain't seen nothin' yet! Barnsey and Farnsey were quite happy to stay home in Australia. They didn't like the music recording corporation attitude in the USA and wanted to be with family. John has been in the music business for about 5 decades and Jimmy is not far behind him. Diesel comes up last but still has quite a bit of experience, too. My favourite is John, the blondie. He has an incredible voice and stage presence. Always watch him LIVE. He has done some fabulous work with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra backing his band and singers. Checkout "Help," "You're The Voice" and "Playing To Win" with them. Aussies are not into religion and gospel music like the USA but you don't have to partake in that to be soulful. An Aussie band that is full of bluesy soul is The Teskey Brothers. Checkout, "Hold Me", LIVE at the Forum in Melbourne in Australia.. My favourite of their music is, "Man Of The Universe". All these artists have a lot of videos on You Tube. Glad you're enjoying music from the Land of Oz Down-under.

    • @doc6186
      @doc6186 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Teskey brothers are great. Band from outer suburb of Melbourne (Warrandyte) - only 10kms from me! Josh Teskey's voice is amazing. Has the same texture as Joe Cocker but more powerful and bit raspier? I like RAIN, and CRYING SHAME (in NYC). The live version of HOLD ME goes on a bit, but where he ends up singing in the crowd on someone shoulders is nuts!! It's worth watching just for that. 🙂

    • @barnowl5774
      @barnowl5774 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@doc6186 Glad to find another Teskey Brothers fan! I promote them whenever and wherever I can. They deserve that. I received a lovely reply from a guy from Queensland who took my advice to check them out and fell in love with their music. I haven't been to a concert yet as I'm still Co-Vid hesitant and keep away from crowds. I discovered them on You Tube during the 2020 lockdown in Melbourne .But some day-one day I will get to their concert/s. Warrandyte is a lovely area and some of their videos are recorded around there. Apparently they honed their musical skills playing in the markets etc.in that area. Josh Teskey was on Brendon Love's shoulders at the concert. The song does go on a bit too long on the video but it was the last song at the concert and the audience was hyped up. Reactors are amazed at the audience participation and camaraderie expressed by the Aussie audience. Spread the word!

      @@barnowl5774 Don't worry, I've been doing my best! I like the official clip for Hold Me. Shot in the Aussie bush, and from what you say above, I'm guessing it's in Warrandyte (th-cam.com/video/qHGrYll3O6Y/w-d-xo.html).

    Religion doesn't have the monopoly on one having and conveying soul. You mentioned it twice and it's irrelevant. The human experience itself teaches us empathy, compassion and sincerity and it is more than enough. The power of amazingly talented singers and musicians conveying a feeling toward their audience has nothing to do with "God" and everything to do with the human beings within the room. People are full of soul and heart all on their own.
