Outside of the school, they brought a truck. And inside the truck was a driving simulator like this for fire trucks. I was the first one to use and wasn’t given much instruction. They kicked me off after 2 minutes cause I was driving around like it was GTA
There was once one at my school, the firemen looks away for one second, looks back and is just in awe on how the car is flying and lands on the roof and says "ok next persons turn"

Even if he was to go right, then turn, which your not supposed to do he would've still hit the car sitting right there. That's the problem with simulators is they are hugely inaccurate and outdated. I'll pop my air brakes and sit there, stare at the person that won't let me through. If I wait there Long wnough I'll get out of the truck and politely ask them to back up (while everyone behind them who isn't an idiot has backed up already) Not once did my school ever use simulators and I went to the best school in Tennessee, paid 5,000 bucks for it. We started in class which was rigorous testing to get your permit and a 500 question test. Then you learn to back (pure hell at first. This is when most people quit, we lost nearly half the class) Then you drive on the road (lost a couple more people) I passed with a 98 overall score. I haul fuel now. Fuel drivers are considered the safest drivers in America. (supposed to be anyways, I've met some guys smh). Before that I was OTR (over the road) I've never had an accident and anytime I've come close to one it was because some a-hole was in a hurry and saw a truck and said "f this guy I'm not going to wait to pass" or "let me sit on my phone and almost side swipe him" Back to the vid. After watching this about 20 times. He did what he was supposed to minus hit the car lol. Not supposed to do that. Most of the schools that bought these are forcing students to use them just to justify themselves that they wasted a ton of money for a crappy video game
Right? As a trucker myself, watching this stressed me out. That is not a turn a truck can make because it's not realistic. And the car should have seen the truck pull forward and not gone all the way to the line.

When you see a large truck trying to make a turn like that don't pull all the way up to the line. Give him some space. It makes it a lot easier for the truck driver to turn. He's also less likely to run over the hood of your car.
I drove for 25 years. There’s not one day ever that several cars haven’t continued to pull forward while I was turning. I get not knowing that the truck needed the space and not wanting to get hit. What I don’t get is pulling forward and not to the side (which would still cause an accident)

@@GoKuABP You’re welcome. Those white lines at stop lights and signs were designed to give enough room for the car and truck turning. But once the car moves forward (even to the side), all bets are off… Also, not all truck drivers are good truck drivers. Which is another reason to give them enough space so your car won’t get damaged.

So did when he hit that vehicle. I want to try this
I remember when I was younger our school had this event for some firefighters to teach us about all the things they do and the kind of training they need to have.
We had the airplane one in my middle school…. Till 911….. too many kids kept hitting buildings after. ….
🤣

Two things. He should've seen his trailer coming close to the vehicle and just hit your brakes.
Secondly fuck that car he should've backed up lol
That's why they train
That car should have backed up… you see something that big coming get out it’s way
Legally it's his fault he didn't go wide enough on his turn and the car was stopped behind the line
I always try to give truckers extra room if I see them making a turn, be it not pulling all the way up to making a turn or being pulled over just that small amount to help
@@boozywithanuzi7902 no sir. He turned like he should have. I have a CDL and come up to T intersections like this all the time. Pull straight as far as you can, make the turn.
Even if he was to go right, then turn, which your not supposed to do he would've still hit the car sitting right there.
That's the problem with simulators is they are hugely inaccurate and outdated.
I'll pop my air brakes and sit there, stare at the person that won't let me through. If I wait there Long wnough I'll get out of the truck and politely ask them to back up (while everyone behind them who isn't an idiot has backed up already)
Not once did my school ever use simulators and I went to the best school in Tennessee, paid 5,000 bucks for it. We started in class which was rigorous testing to get your permit and a 500 question test.
Then you learn to back (pure hell at first. This is when most people quit, we lost nearly half the class)
Then you drive on the road (lost a couple more people)
I passed with a 98 overall score. I haul fuel now. Fuel drivers are considered the safest drivers in America. (supposed to be anyways, I've met some guys smh). Before that I was OTR (over the road)
I've never had an accident and anytime I've come close to one it was because some a-hole was in a hurry and saw a truck and said "f this guy I'm not going to wait to pass" or "let me sit on my phone and almost side swipe him"
Back to the vid. After watching this about 20 times. He did what he was supposed to minus hit the car lol. Not supposed to do that. Since it's a simulator at that point I'd have fun with it and just drag the car and other cars down the road while instructor went "omg wtf are you doing"
He’s being hired at swift 😂😭

In real life, u have to hit it so they'll move
You have to train for the worst case, and hope real life is better. Since the other vehicle is not required to back up, they won't.
Accurate lmao
The cars won’t move in that sim.
When I had my simulator class I was driving in the highway and a f*cking wall appeared out of thin air in the middle of the road, boy did I crash real good

@@caipirinha_king1632 Thanks for the knowledge I’ll use this when I drive, I usually stop or if I see them pull out too late I’ll back up . I’ll give room and turn slightly out to provide space now knowing .
I’m high rn , but I will use this knowledge fr 😌
@@GoKuABP
You’re welcome.
Those white lines at stop lights and signs were designed to give enough room for the car and truck turning. To be completely honest, no moving forward or to the side is necessary if stopped behind that line. The truck driver already knows when he starts moving that he can make the turn around the car. But once the car moves forward (even to the side), all bets are off… Also, not all truck drivers are good truck drivers. Which is another reason to give them enough space so your car won’t get damaged.
